Marshal, I didn't have any issue installing. Your problem is probably due to your antivirus protection. Avast and some other antivirus software see the software protection file Setup.gcd and interpret it as a problem. It is not. I and others have loaded many programs with this file without it causing any issues. In this case, you will have to temporarily disable your antivirus to get the install program to work properly. As I recall, you could click on Avast and set it to disable for 10 minutes; just long enough to install the program. That is what I did when I used Avast. Not sure about other antivirus programs, but I think most or all of them have something similar. Good luck.

Bruce, It was not. I turned it off and tried. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it, rebooted my computer, etc. All it would do was open the ToomkyGames page. I have loaded many of these files also and have not had this problem. It does not matter now.

Frozen Kingdom was available as a giveaway on December 8, 2019!
The number "2" at the end of this page URL indicates that today is the
second time that the game is been given away .
According to my archives the game Frozen Kingdom was available as
a giveaway on December 8, 2019 .
I had the game installed back then , so , I did not install the game today .
I've just found the old installation and the game works just fine under
Windows XP .
The game is pretty old .
So , about any problem running the game ... may I propose setting compatibility
mode to Windows XP ???
I hope that this setting will solve the problem ...

Very difficult to see which squares remain to be broken and doesn't seem to save progress - exiting takes you back to level 1. Doubt it'll be a keeper for me.

Did you get a download? Mine goes to : C:\Program Files (x86)\ToomkyGames.com\Frozen Kingdom
You then unzip and install from there.

Installed and tested correctly. However, the shortcut on the desktop disappears when closing the game. I restart it from the installation folder on the disc.

I've had this game before and never finished it. Looks good and plays smoothly but you can not tell which cells need to be cleared and time runs out by the time you spend precious seconds looking for the last cell to clear. So frustrating.
I just installed this on my Windows 8.1 and it had a hard time starting up. It made itself small on my task bar and I clicked to open it.
I was going to try this on my W 11 but I don't care for the game due to the cell issue. Good luck to others.

For those having a problem getting the game to work, it's usually related to Direct X which needs to be downloaded and installed first. Then install/re-install and re run the game and it should then work according to Mark in the last giveaway. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35/ Also with older toomky games you may find installing them outside the normal windows protected folders it defaults to works better such as C:\Games which will also prevent some issues with saving in some titles.
Frozen Kingdom is a older match three game with two modes of play, relaxed and timed, plus there are four ways of matching tiles via the buttons along the bottom of the game table and are even able to rotate the board. It was released originally back in 2012 and has been given away once before on GOTD where it received an 89% positive rating including a detailed overview by Whiterabbit-Uk in the comments. https://game.giveawayoftheday.com/frozen-kingdom
The story touches upon a vile wizard putting an ice spell on the land, and therefore your aim is to release the spell. Don’t let this standard storyline fool you! In spite of this lame premise the plot unwinds well and surprisingly makes sense to this match-3 gameplay. The game plays ok, flows smoothly and has no frustrating aspects to the gameplay. Swapping, grouping, chaining and sliding are the main modes of play here. You are able to alter modes at any time during the play. Each board involves different challenges: one break the bricks, one collect special items, and direct particular items to other ones. Rotating game boards provides you with more matches and can help during some gameplay.
The way to play is clear but there is a tutorial to show you what to do. Between each level there is a bonus level that let you get some helpful items or artifacts. You are allowed to skip these bonus levels but then you don’t get the artifacts which can be very useful during the whole play. Unlike most match-3 installments, these boards get a bit harder and harder: massive ice blocks, levels with limited clicks and many more.
The game can be appreciated by many fans of match-3 genre for all ages. The music background and sound effects are not irritating and instead rather pleasant to listen to. The possibility to choose game modes (timed and untimed) is helpful. This title might be not to everybody’s taste, but can admit that it is a decent average match-3 example in general considering its age.

I downloaded this and tried to open it, but all it does is go to the website. No game, just opens the website, then it opens the webpage that says thank you for playing. Any help would be appreciated.

Marshell Wooley, worked just fine for me just now. Installing as I type this.

Marshell Wooley, that happened to me, too, when I tried to play in fullscreen mode. It worked fine for me in windowed mode.
I don't like windowed mode, though; I'd really rather play in fullscreen. Anyone know how to get the game to behave?

Marshell Wooley, did you disable your anti-virus software? if you didn't, then it won't properly install.

Marshell Wooley,
I guess, I am not much of a help but I tried to install the German vision which turned out to be English, just to see if I can help somehow. The language doesn't matter for me. The game works smooth under Win10 Pro.
Everything installed under my choosen path and I got a desktop icon to start the game. As I am not a pc crack, I can't say more than it works for me, sorry.
I would suggest you try to install the game directly from Toomky. I already installed games from there often and never had a problem.

Marshell Wooley, I am sorry for the late response as I was out and about. This is the same behavior I had with Woodville Chronicles. But then this game launched for me. There is a strange behavior where upon exiting the game, it opens up 2 tabs one of them is a dead link and the other goes to thank you for playing. Try right clicking on the shortcut and try different compatibility settings and see if you can get the game to run. I am running Win 11 here and had the game appear in a window when launching it but when I went to full screen, it looked a lot better. The only issue I had was that the cursor was laggy in some part of the game so I turned it off.

Marshell Wooley, it's not installing properly for some reason; you probably need to disable your AV before trying to download and install.

Marshell Wooley, did you see my reply about installing direct x first? That was the solution from the original giveaway and would fix future games you run that require it as well. If you need to get the game again to reinstall in this case, you can get it from toonkys website.
