Hiddenverse: The Iron Tower:

In Brief:
Hiddenverse: The Iron Tower is one of several games in the Hiddenverse series. It's one of those clutter games where you'll find a mixture of matching pairs, matching threes etc, match threes and rearrange the strips plus other mini games. There's a timed and an untimed mode..

The game was originally given away on the 15th November 2020 where it received a positive 94% from 31 votes with 10 comments which you can see HERE. You can find a short rather negative review of the game from Girl adventurer games HERE; (I don't agree with the review at all). It may be relatively easy, but I found it quite relaxing and the several levels I played I enjoyed. Unfortunately, I won't be posting a full review (becoming more common these days) partly because I've not yet been to bed since yesterday morning, so need to go crash for several hours.

You can see several videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE & HERE.
Hiddenverse - The Iron Tower takes place in a colourful dystopian world. The evil Lord Marcus has kidnapped the great steampunk mechanic Leonardo, and intends to use his talents for his own dark devices. Sneak into his lair, finding hidden objects along the way, and put a stop to his madness! The kingdom's future depends on you. Explore the Hiddenverse - The Iron Tower today.

Reference accessed HERE 16th January 2022.
The Game:
No review today, sorry.

Other Free Games:

For other free games, please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE (non Steam games) and HERE (Steam games) for the latest freebies; it's kept up to date frequently, whenever a free game becomes available, (thanks for keeping this up to date Delenn, very much appreciated).

Also for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB with your Steam account, all games that you already have will be highlighted in green and those in blue are on your wish list. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see the percentage off as 100%. It's worth checking this regularly to make sure you don't miss the best deals and freebies. Delenn usually posts links to all free games within several hours of them going live, so check her links at the top of this comment as well.
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; the most recent additions include:

1) ... Six Sides of the World (a puzzle videogame that takes you into an intergalactic journey through different star systems riddled with brain-racking challenges)

2) ... Byte Family (this one was given away previously, but was then removed from the free section, another chance to grab) it - Overcome obstacles and restore the cyber world Byte Family, eliminating the system virus, unlocking new game modes and gaining new skills!

3) ... Avani: The Primal Land (Explore, gather, learn, craft and build in the world of Avani: The Primal Land. Fight, hunt and tame wild animals. Animals have their own genetics and no animal is like the other. The interactive taming process allows making a real bond with each tame. Avani offers a unique crafting system combined with a huge skill tree and an intuitive building system mixed with traditional survival game elements)

4) ... Cov Shooter (Try to survive as many waves as possible, upgrade your stats and weapons to do that)

All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (112 games are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free and are removed after a short period; so, you should grab them as soon as you can.

The latest free game from Epic is a repeat called Galactic Civilization III that was originally given away last year on the 22nd Jan 2021; so, if you missed it back then here's your opportunity to grab it now. :) - Build a civilization that will stand the test of time! Play as a top physicist stranded on an eerie, derelict Moon base. Find your way around the enigmatic, terraformed craters by bending gravity and magnetism to your will in order to solve physical puzzles. Will you rush straight ahead and try to reach safety - or will you take your time to gather clues and unravel the intrigues of 22nd century orbital politics? Buried in the eternal darkness of the lunar craters lies a secret that might claim your daughter’s life - or change the fate of humanity forever. Are you ready to face the ultimate consequences of your research?
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be) where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. You can find Fanatical games (that used to be called Bundle stars) HERE.

I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis. I won't be posting them daily this time; only as and when I have time and the inclination. You can find the new forum section entitled 'Free Game Project' HERE

So far I've posted two excellent games i.e. Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe (a squad based solo shooter) and Battlegroup 44 (a free standing mod for Battlefield 2 that is a follow up to the original Battlefield 1942). Plus, I've moved over to the new forum, a couple of games from a failed restart of this project from just before the pandemic; (one of my favourite breakouts called Breakquest and an android game called Messy Paths).

Fridays free game from Falcoware i.e. Black And White Apocalypse by the developer hammergames is apparently always free and can also be downloaded as a colour version. The community member Space pointed this out yesterday. You can find both versions over on itch.io via the following links. Black & White version, and Coloured version. :)

You can also find 'all nine' of the developers games (for free) HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)

Stay safe everyone.

I'm looking forward to playing this, since I am hopelessly addicted to "clutter"-type games as well as hidden objects games! Yowza!!

Just a P.S. here....
I've started playing, and I'm already very impressed with the quality of the graphics and the smooth game play. I'm especially impressed by the super-original, definitely out-of-this-world objects to match in the "clutter" fields! It's so much fun seeing all those weird objects, and they add a bit of extra difficulty. Thanks very much for this fun game!

Even though XP is listed as a supported OS, the installed game will not run, not even with the "trick" that usually works. But at least the uninstall.exe worked...!

Played one of these couple weeks ago. Easy to get hooked on especially once catch onto the tricks & patterns. Perhaps why so far Chapter 1 is going easier than last one. I play on large monitor which helps to find the often tiny bits found in the heap/pile ones. Prefer these to Match name with Object games. Crisp graphics and little story line makes for oh heck just one more round within the chapter (s).
Timed & untimed, hint button and game often flashes a match as a round begins. Points if solve a round w/o using a hint. Prior game got lot harder as went on so wouldn't be surprised if seems 'easy' at start. KInd of a slog if they don't throw in some new pieces. 8 or 8.5/10 or more if fan.

The clutter hog mechanics gets tiresome after a while, but it was a fun game.

I have done all in the clutter series under different names and publishers. some darker than others. some are pretty routine: de-cluttering and most have story lines. I played this game quite a few times. Like all the other games in this genre, the objects to be matched are standard and the same as the others in this genre no matter what the story is about. Whenever I play these matching type games, I always feel like I am a small child matching shapes, colors and association matches, so, when it comes to that I am not a fan because I'm not 4, I am 59. The other games are standard and do take some thought to complete; when I view stories, I don't revisit them when I play the game again, unless it's riveting which most just aren't to me. Plays well on Linux Mint 20.3, 64 bit computer with the WINE interface. The graphics are decent, the fluidity of the scenes and animation are decent. I don't listen to the sound or music and turn it off, so I cannot comment on this. I want to thank GGOTD for this offering and to Whiterabbit-uk for the review.

This game is almost exactly like the DreamWalker game given away here a little while back, and is definitely "strangely fascinating"! I swear I'm only going to play for a couple of rounds, and then it's an hour later :). So far, not much different from DreamWalker which I still have and play under my third identity, although this one so far seems a tad easier. It adds "bonus rounds" where you can choose from three different games to break up the "match 2, match 3" usual ones. If you have have DreamWalker you might not find too much new and exciting here, but it's a nice addition to the genre. Installed and plays fine on Win10 with no adjustments.

Do want to add that anytime there's a "find the two halfs" puzzle, clicking often doesn't work, as if the mapping of the hot spots is off. Eventually, by repeatedly clicking in different spots on or around the correct half, you can get it and proceed, but it's frustrating. I noticed that in the old comments from last time it was offered, referenced in WhiteRabbit's review, someone else reported the same thing. So be on the lookout. Otherwise, everything seems to work fine.

Usually I delete games once finished to free up space on the hard drive but this is one of those rare games which I couldn't bring myself to delete. So if you like hidden object games with a good story element, I'd advise getting it.

Last time around I found this game amazingly 'sticky' -- I'd open it planning to play a level or two, and find myself still playing a couple of hours later. The variety of the challenges, and the occasional different games between games, just kept me reeled in. Maybe I'll play it again...

I agree with Ros. In my notes I added "strangely fascination".

I have only played the first 2 levels but I defiantly keeping this game. It plays well on windows 11. This isn't just a hidden object game it has a variety of different games to play.
