Secret Diaries: Florence Ashford:
This was originally given away Feb 10th 2019 where it received a positive 87% from 30 votes ; you can see the communities 12 comments HERE (in particular see the third comment from 'A Reviewer' who posted a decent review of the game).
Secret Diaries: Florence Ashford is another good looking Hidden Object Game with some decent puzzles. I only played it for about half an hour the last time this was given away and today, I'm out for most of the day (soon) so won't be posting a review. I will continue to moderate later today when I am home again.
I'd previously posted a few links to game play videos HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE, plus a few images below. :)

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 3 hit/s (VBA32, Kingsoft & Panda) from 58 antimalware engines. These three are amongst only several antimalware suites that often tag MyPlayCity Games compared to most better known and more reliable antimalware engines that gave the game a clean bill of health; so, it's very likely to be a false positive.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that opens your browser once to MyPlayCity Games home page after the game has installed and also places a few shortcuts onto your desktop; these can be safely deleted once the game has been installed).

The MyPlayCity installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to MyPlayCity's home page following the games installation, it earns MyPlayCity games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. The giveaway version of MyPlayCity games version has had most of the adware disabled.

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

I did in fact have to get a link via email. This is a process that appeared in the recent past. It does seem strange that MPC doesn't list the game on their site. In fact, they only list a grand total of 60 games there now. Perhaps the moderators can give us some insight as to what is going on. I also want to mention that the download contained all of the ads and links that you would normally get. So, no advantage of getting it here. Regarding the game, This one leads you around by the ear. Ended up deleting it after 10 minutes of game time.

Hi Sid,

Most of the games you find on MyPlayCity and other free games sites like Gametop, FreeGamePick and TooMky Games are shareware titles that you'll find being sold on other sites like Game Fools, Alawar, Big Fish, Gamehouse etc. MyPlayCity have to pay the developers for allowing the games to be downloaded from their site. I can only surmise that those games missing have either been removed because the contract between MPC and the developer hasn't been renewed or the developer has removed it themselves.

With respect to the ad's; there is a difference between the ones you get from MPC and the ones you get from this site. Some of the adware has been disabled from the game giveaway versions. That said, all the ad's you find from both sites are not malicious and nothing is injected into your computers system when you install or play any of these free games.

Looks like fun. Appreciate the built-in registration! Now -- are there controls within the game to control music and sounds? I couldn't find that on the opening page.

M. Aronson, if you look very carefully on the title screen (the first shot in Rabbit's post), on the edge of the table where you click "play," the word "Options" appears (very faintly). Click there & you've got it. Enjoy!

I usually download the games directly from the supplier as I do not use social media. When I looked for the last two games that were supplied by My Play City on their website, they were not available. I also noticed that you no longer provide a link to the provider's website in your own comments. Is it no longer possible to obtain offerings directly from the suppliers?

I just downloaded the game without it asking for a social media link. You might want to try it to see if it works for you.

Topazdragon125, I'm not sure I understand. May be some misunderstanding. I'm not sure it's ever been required to get the games through Facebook, and, if it has, they soon changed that. I've always seen the option to send a link directly to my email, and, over the last year or 2, many of the games just directly download, no need to go to Facebook or even your email. Which is not to say you can't use the My Play City downloads if you want to, but it isn't necessary. Having not downloaded it yet, I don't know why it can't be found on the MPC website this time. Maybe we're getting it directly from Big Fish this time. I was under the impression that the links in the blue box to Big Fish when we were actually getting the games from MPC or Toomky was just to give people a chance to see the community reviews that Big Fish has for nearly every game, even though we were actually getting the from My Play City or Toomky.

Unofficially, since I'm not affiliated with the site, let me say I'm sorry for the confusion. Maybe GGOTD should have explained this things a little better, instead of expecting people to try each time and discover the email links and then direct downloads. If I'm misunderstanding you, I apologize. If not, I hope this helps. Of course, you can still download from the supplier, some prefer to do it that way when possible, but it isn't necessary. As I say, you can get them here without having to use Facebook at all. Like you, I never use it.

Sorry, I jumped the gun slightly. I see it does say MyPlayCity as the publisher. Maybe Game Giveaway has it in their archives from 2019 and got MPC's permission to give it away again, or the original agreement lets them give it away as many times as they want, even though it seems to be gone from the MPC site. Anyway, as sunsign says, it's a direct download today, no Facebook or going to your email required.

Hi Topazdragon125,

Have you tried any of the other free game sites such as TooMky Games, Gametop & FreeGamePick? You may find one of those has the game available (I've not checked). There are other free game sites, but I cannot confirm whether they are as safe as the ones mentioned above.
