Alien Planet Explorer is a side scrolling 2D action platformer

The Game
Wow!, I wasn't expecting a platformer from Jurij after getting over 30 zombie/monster, soldier/alien arena shooters; definitely a pleasant surprise. This was actually created before the developers interest in first person shooters.

It's a standard platformer with short levels where you navigate various stationary and moving platforms, avoiding traps , finding keys and transporting to the next level once you've completed the level. The first few levels will give you some advanced warning of impending dangers. I noted when I completed the second level a voice over spoke, but it was in a foreign language; however, what was said is also included in English sub titles.

Overall a nice, relatively easy and colourful platformer. I don't know how many levels are included with this game because there is no level map included. Controls favour right handed players. I had some difficulty playing due to the key bindings as I usually use my right hand for movement, so to access the jump key was a little awkward because I was having to cross my hands. I did try to use my thumb for jumping, but my hands are not as flexible as they used to be :( Still, I enjoyed playing the game and will be keeping this one as a coffee break game in between my more in depth AAA games that I play. If todays game isn't what you were looking for and you are able to buy a few games I highly recommend the open world action shooters Second Extinction and Generation Zero {one with dinosaurs and one with robots } to anyone who loves open world action games; or if you are more into 2D games, I've been exploring a cooperative/solo 2D open world submarine sim called Barotrauma that I also highly recommend).

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found zero hits from 59 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcowares home page after the game has installed, but does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcowares home page it earns them some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free.
