I'm slightly confused about this game being given away today... If it isn't the full version of the game then why is that not stated clearly in the description?

Also, if this is only a reduced version of the game then why does it state above that "The game is available for $2.99, but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer' in reference to THIS version of the game being given away here today when the full price for the full version of the game also only costs $2.99 USD?

It's not ethical for GOTD to provide a reduced content version of a game without clearly stating that it's a reduced content version, and then even worse, also go on to claim that it's dollar value is the same as the full content version.

Many thanks in anycase to you Stephen (aka Whiterabbit-uk) for providing a review along with so many screenshots for us all as per usual. Much appreciated!

Fun for the short time I've played. It's on sale at Steam currently 10% off. And there isn't a negative review. You get a really good game for under $3.00 and unlocks the full game and not just the demo offered today. Great deal ! Thank you GOTD and Whiterabbit.

Hi John,

Those internet shortcuts have no effect on your system, they are there as a consequesce of getting shareware games for free from one of the many sites that give free games away. They have to pay the developer of the game to be able to give them away, so we get adverts when the game has been installed (via you browser opening to the distributors site) and the shortcuts installed to the desktop if clicked on would earn the free game site and the developer some income. Those shortcut can be deleted with no advese effect on the game.

WWII Tanks Battle:
We were given the full version of this game back in August last year while it was still in development (yoiu can see the review via the following link. Todays is basically the same with some minor changes and a recuction in the number of scenarios:

The game has since been released on Steam. When you boot up the game there is a button that says Full game. Pressing this will take you to the Steam page, i.e.

What we get is just two scenario's i.e. Battle of Stalingrad Attack and a tutorial, whereas the version we got last year included several scenarios. It's exactly the same game play as the previous game which was called WWII Tanks: Battle (as opposed to todays game called WWII Tanks: Battlefield). You can destroy enemy tanks with one or two shots, whereas enemy tanks take more shots to destroy your tank. The aim of the game is to clear all the eneemy tanks from the area that is shown in the level map.

The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites (though the latter isn't as good as it used to be) where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best; though a more recent addition that is worth checking out called Fanatical games looks to be a serious contender for that title as they have some very good bundles. I've restarted a project I originally started back in 2008 that used to be called Good Games to Grab, where I posted free games over in the forums on a daily basis. Black And White Apocalypse that was given away about two weeks ago by the developer hammergames is always free and can also be downloaded as a colour version. The community member Space pointed this out at the time. You can find both versions over on itch.io via the following links. Black & White version, and Coloured version. :)

You can also find 'all nine' of the developers games (for free) HERE. Some of them look like they are worth investigating. :)
