Water Fall was available as a giveaway on October 3, 2022!
A hellish drought hit the once thriving valley. The fields turned into deserts, and the rivers into ravines. Lonely travelers began to stumble upon thugs and madmen. Everything went completely to hell in a once beautiful place. Can a player survive in this small hell? And remember at all times that the robbers on the roads are not so terrible as an ordinary thirst which cannot be quenched...

This game had an interesting retro style flair to it. However WASD controls don't belong in a platformer like this and I found myself going slightly crazy in my mind trying to control the character on the screen. But given the time they had to develop it for this competition it's pretty decent for a time waster when you need something to do for filling the time.
It does need gamepad support. Also this one does not use Unity like some of the other games from Ashoot.

Will probably have to watch the video to get the hang of this. Some of the items I don't recognize whether or not they can be picked up when I move to them. Are there just empty bottles strewn around? And, not sure of at least one of the items in my inventory. So busy chasing water, didn't have time to look at it's description. Found moving around just as easy or easier to just perpetually jump rather than walk, as long as I don't fall into a spike. Maybe if I see the video it will become more attractive. Hasn't grabbed me yet, so not committed yet to digging into it too deep, since I'm a mouse player who struggles with keyboard coordination. Also not used to having interaction buttons between movement buttons. Sorry to post so late. Got a late start and much of my time was spent on issues with the software over on the windows software page. This might turn out to be worth it. Thanks to GGOTD, the developer and Whiterabbit.

I just googled DirectX August 2008 english (I live in a not english speaking country) and got several links from gaming platforms. Give it another try maybe?

Jeff, try a site called Major Geeks. They usually have all that stuff there you can download to run your games.
