In Brief
I did finally get a chance to play the game but it was already past midnight but was determined to clear several levels then post some details, but after four attempts at level 2, where part way through the level I kept receiving an error at line 11337, This always seemed to happen if I let one of the rocks fall on me, but not every time. You can see the error messages in the last three images, which were taken on my second, third and fourth attempt at beating the level.

You can see a video of game play HERE

You can also find almost thirty of these boulderdash games free over on Caimans Games HERE, a free site for arcade games created by Rudy Versele who passed away 11 years ago, but the site has been maintained by relatives in honour of his dedication to creating a site for free arcade games. I offered to help the site, but they declined my help. Sadly the site isn't what it used to be and has seen few games added since his passing, but what is there is a treasure trove of virtually every arcade genre you can think of.

The latest game from Epic Games is called Creature in the Well, a top-down, pinball-inspired, hack-and-slash dungeon crawler.

Please see Delenns threads for Steam and Non Steam freebies HERE and HERE respectively. It’s worth adding these to your favourites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, it’s yours to keep. The latest Steam game (as posted by Delenn yesterday) is Red Wings: Aces of the Sky, an arcade action game that puts you in the middle of WWI aerial battles. The game combines the action-packed dynamics of classic flight games with modern arcade gameplay and detailed, stylized 3D art. Available free until the 27th March.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found zero hits from 62 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcowares home page after the game has installed, but does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcowares home page it earns them some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

download process seemed to go ok, but program will not run due to a read error. This is same error I have gotten on last 3 games tried to load from Falco on this site.

This looks like an old fashioned digging game of the type played on the C64, like Rockford and Boulderdash
Anyone remember those?

Good fun and varied challenges - possibly like a game called Crystal Cave Classic which was given away here some years ago.

I have to wonder how it has such massive size (222MB) therefore I haven't downloaded it yet.
Perhaps someone wants to leave a review.

Hi Jeff, Nice,

Did you check the link I posted to Caiman games? There are almost 30 Boulderdash like games for free available from that site. See my comment above for the link. It's above the images.

Whiterabbit-uk, Yes, thanks! I see they also have Sokoban games too. There was a Sokoban game on the 1st Palm I ever had ages ago. Excellent site.

Does anyone at Metamorpho_SG know what this means every time i try to start the game. And by the way, thanks for all of the irritating icons linking to other unwanted programs and games that you placed on my desktop without asking me.
I'll never download anything from your company again. Metamorpho_SG Metamorpho_SG Remember that name.

Hi Bob,

The four icons installed onto the desktop are just shortcuts to web pages. They earn the distributor of the game money (if you click on them) part of which is paid to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away for free. They are totally harmless and do not affect your computers system; i.e. they do not inject any malicious code into your system. You can delete them with no effect on the game.

There would be no free game sites if this and other methods like opening your browser when you first install the game and when you close the game down. This can earn developer a lot more money than actually selling the games; especially once the game is several month old or more. These free game sites became common following the 2008 financial crash, when for example arcade games prior to the crash, sold for $19.99 each. Within months of the financial crisis, the price of most arcade games crashed to around a quarter of what they previously cost. This caused many small and large development houses to go bankrupt. for example the developers who created the Bioshock, the Company of Heroes, Warhammer and the Red faction franchise's both went into liquidation i.e. THQ games and 2K Games. It's one of the reasons that many AAA games are now released basically unfinished and then you have to buy several DLC's to complete the games content. I was paying more than twice the price of a AAA game 20 years ago compared to the price you pay for one these days (taking into account inflation), yet these AAA developer are ploughing millions into their development.

A couple of community members have had similar issues with the Wad error. I wasn't able to find any fix for it, but did post the following:

To those getting the ''extract.tmp in wadlib0.5.agc at line 343'' error; I'm stumped. The game worked perfectly for me running Win 10 Pro.

Try updating your graphic drivers; failing that, check the FAQ's thread over in the game discussion sticky section. Also try going into compatibility mode and changing some of the settings there.

Final thoughts:

I always install games and applications onto separate hard drives rather than the C drive; if you have more than one drive or have partitioned your only drive into two or more drives, try installing the game to the E: drive or whatever you've labelled the second drive.

The only reference to the above error I could find online was to do with Wadpacker for the 'AppGameKit Studio' game engine from 'The Game Creators'. *There is a Wad file located in the 'media' folder of the installed game called 'ray.wad'. Maybe if you contacted the developer of the game engine, they may have a solution? You can find contact details on their web site:
