Retro Wave Race is a game in the genre of arcade racing.

Tower Defense Sudden Attack is a strategy game set in a military base seized by many terrorists and now is under attack.

Now they have not only jeeps and trucks, but also tanks and helicopter gunships. No one expected an attack, but the enemy suddenly did just that nonetheless, and that adversary is very strong.

To ensure security, you must quickly build your defensive structures using machine guns, rocket launchers and even a flamethrower. Those complexes must be prepared for incoming ground and air attack, for multiple sides. You earn resources from killing enemies and can use that to upgrade your weapons.

Tower Defense Sudden Attack
In Brief
A Budget Tower Defense game by Falcoware. My score 3 out of 10 (1 for each level).

Tower-Defense-002
Installation:
Tower Defense Sudden Attack downloads to a 92.6 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper, the set-up file and a read me). Those with multiple hard drives can save games on any drive they wish by replacing the C drive with whatever drive letter they wish the game to be installed to or If you have multiple hard drives you can save games on any drive you wish by replacing the C drive letter in the path with whatever drive letter you wish the game to be installed to. The newly installed game is 211 MB in size. The game installs to the following path by default:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Tower Defence Sudden Attack
However, if you prefer a different path for installation for example I use G:\Games\ name of game instead of 'C:\Program Files (x86)\name of game'. You can edit the default path when the Setup - Tower Defense Sudden Attack - Select Destination Location window appears.

Five shortcuts are installed to the desktop, four of which can be safely deleted (i.e. Falco Space - Online Game!, FalconLine Online Games Website, FalcoGo WebGL Games! and Free Games Downloads!). If you don't want to install the games shortcut to the desktop during installation, just make sure the install desktop shortcut is unchecked when the 'additional task's window appears; you will still get two of the other Falcoware shortcuts installed (i.e. FalconLine Online Games Website & FalcoGo WebGL Games shortcuts). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you also uncheck the appropriate checkbox when the 'additional task's window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window).

Features:

⦁ Strategic gameplay
⦁ Upgradable weapons
⦁ Multiple fronts of combat
⦁ Time-Bullet

The Game:
To any aficionado of Tower Defense games (Tower Defense games are one of my favorite arcade genres together with Shmup's and breakouts), the lack of any instructions is excusable as you more or less can figure out whats needed almost immediately, but for those who are not as familiar with Tower Defense games, the lack of any instructions makes this game pretty dire. A simple splash screen with instructions should not be difficult for a developer to include in the game and is IMO a serious negative against this game.

The first level involves an attack by air forces (helicopters). Choosing the wrong tower defense at this time will see you lose most of your base health because if you choose the ground attack weapon which costs 20 credits instead of the SAM missile site, which costs 50 credits all the helicopters will attack your base unscathed because they are totally ineffective against an air attack. At the start of the game you get 50 credits. You can buy one SAM missile site for this and it is effective at destroying all the helicopters that attack. If you choose the wrong defense at the start you can restart by clicking the settings button located to the bottom far right of the arena.
There are only three different tower defenses, and each one can be upgraded to cover a larger area to level three (i.e. three times). There are only three levels to this game, and they appear to be disconnected, that is, when you complete a level you are given the option of restarting the level or returning to the main menu. Once you've completed level 1 you don't automatically go to level 2. Also there are only three types of enemy, helicopters plus small and large tanks. I also encountered an odd bug, where my base health reduced to zero over a short period despite not seeing any enemy tanks or helicopters attacking. Game deleted.

Conclusion:
I've got to say, this is the worst tower defense game I've ever played. Apart from the lack of tower defense choices (only three in this game, there's only one type of upgrade available, which is range increases. There's no increase for reload and there's only three levels. In short, you can complete this game in about 10 minutes if you use the fast movement button. I've already deleted this game.

Problems getting the game to work:
If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Tower Defense Sudden Attack to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e. the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try white-listing the setup.gcd file. In the almost 12 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.

Whiterabbit-uk, this is the funniest review you've ever posted! And the only sincerely negative review that I can recall. Thanks for "taking one for the team". ;)

Hi Diana; I've always tried to be neutral when reviewing games. Knowing how much work most developers used to put into their creations. I found being negative rather disconcerting; so, even with genres I didn't particularly like I always tried to see the good side. So long as a game had reasonable game play, no matter how bad it looked, I'd always be as positive as possible. Unfortunately, since the advent of cheap game engines; which have become easily accessible and simple to use (Steam sell loads of them, and often on sale), plus the amount of free stuff packaged, or created by modding community for those engines; you can now literally cobble together with little effort a low grade game that outwardly looks pretty decent. Basically all you do with some of those game engines is plug together various modules to make a game. Unfortunately most of those cheap game engines have little original stuff included, so you'll see the same assets in loads of games. Today's game was one of the laziest games I've ever come across. I cannot believe Valve have allowed such game into their Steam store. These games are also one of the reasons I stopped buying cheap indie bundles. When they first arrived on the scene about 7 years ago, they included loads of decent games at massive discounts, but now most of those bundles (apart from The Humble and Indie Gala bundles) are full of similar stuff to today's game. Selling at very low prices, but with no extended game play and certainly no replayability. Sadly IMO it's turning the arcade/indie gaming industry into a joke.

Heidi Huggles, perhaps that is how the game should be marketed. :)

Heidi Huggles,

You actually make a very good point. I must admit I took this comment as another bit of sarcasm initially, but after thinking about it a while, thought it was a good point to make; so, thank you for your constructive comment. Appreciated.
