Introduction:

Temptation is a simple arcade casual mini-game. During the middle ages a priest was taken over by an evil demon. He still had a little control over himself and knew how to beat the demon, but time was of the essence becasue the longer it took to carry out his plan, the harder it would be to exorcise the demon from his body and save his soul.

To accomplish the exorcism he had to sin, so he killed chickens to make him angry, then he ate them to accomplish the sin of gluttony, he also became very lazy and would spend hours in bed sleeping when he should have been carrying out his work. He also took gold from the poor to sin for greed as well as committing sin against all the tenets of the commandments. The greater his sins, the less the demon would hold power over him.

The level of sins decrease as time passes, and the demon become stronger! So it is imperative that you try to win exorcise the demon and save the priests soul as quickly as possible. Try this on different difficulty settings.

Installation:

Temptation downloads to a 112 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper the set-up file and a read me). The game installs to the following path by default, but can be changed if you wish. The installed game is approximately 111 MB in size.

Five shortcuts are installed to the desktop, four of which can be safely deleted (i.e. Falco Space - Online Game!, FalconLine Online Games Website, FalcoGo WebGL Games! and Free Games Downloads!). If you don't want to install the games shortcut to the desktop during installation, just make sure the install desktop shortcut is unchecked when the 'additional task's window appears; you will still get two of the other Falcoware shortcuts installed (i.e. FalconLine Online Games Website & FalcoGo WebGL Games shortcuts). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you also uncheck the appropriate checkbox when the 'additional task's window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window).

To win the game you need to reduce the power of the demon. To do this you have to sin. There are five indicators, four in the top left of the game board that indicate how successful you are in four sins, i.e. Gluttony, Greed, Laziness and Anger. These are increased by carrying out various actions such as laying on the bed that is located a the top of the game area. To sleep move to the bed area and press E. This increases the laziness indicator. To leave the bed, press E again. To become angry kill the chickens and cats that are moving around. Greed is increased by collecting the gold that you get from smashing open the gold sacks that are dropped from the carts that pass over the area frequently. To get the carts to drop gold sacks you have to hit the cart several times. If you don't smash the gold sacks open quickly they disappear. when opened you have to run over the gold quickly to collect it otherwise that also disappears after a short time. Gold crosses are also dropped from these sacks. Occasionally a girl will appear, moving close to her and pressing E will undress her and give you bonus points. As you collect these your sin level is increased and this counters the Demon power, which is indicated just to the right of the top middle of the game screen. There is also a depravity counter, which increases as you commit the sins. Messages are occasionally flashed up along the bottom of the screen. You can also select from two areas to commit your sins,

The main menu includes a help button that explains how to self exorcise and lists the controls (see above for controls). Plus you can select either English or Russian. the game button takes you to a second screen where you can select from four difficulty modes Easy, Medium, Hard and The Demon will Kill you

Conclusion:

Temptation is a much better produced game that previous weekday games that we've been given recently. It has a decent main menu, introduction and interesting hand drawn melancholic art style that i found quite interesting. You can also select from four different difficulty settings. After playing each difficulty level, the only difference I could see was that the demons power increased faster at each level. Playing on the hardest level i.e. The Demon will Kill you allowed me less than 30 seconds before the demon won. Even on the easiest level I was unable to win a level before the demons power overcame me despite trying my hardest to sin (lol). This was for me a very challenging game, well made despite the poorly translated English and lack of a decent help menu. If you are up for a challenge and don't mind multiple failures, even on easy, then this may be worth downloading. Personally I doubt I will return to the game becasue I have far too many other un-played AAA games yet to explore. If you are using a multi screen display, you'll find the game constantly closing to the task bar becasue the mouse isn't bound to the game area. I had to change my display settings to display the game on all monitors to stop the game from closing constantly. Even when using the shift key to move faster i found it difficult to succeed in some of the sins such as the anger and gluttony. The easiest to accomplish was the laziness becasue all you needed to do was lay on the bed.

Problems getting the game to work:

If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Temptation to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e. the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try white-listing the setup.gcd file. In the almost 12 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.
