Surrealism Puzzle is a simple puzzle game that will help you relax after a hard day. The game is very simple, as it was created for your relaxation and does not require special attention. The game has 10 levels, where each level consists of 25 elements that must be rotated in the desired direction and dragged into place. At the beginning of the level, you see an image for 5 seconds and then it disappears. In this version of the game, the help button is disabled, as it was in previous games, since the levels are very simple. The game will help you relax and have fun. There is a choice of levels and you can start playing from the level you choose. The game will delight you with nice graphics and calm music.

Surrealism Puzzle:

In Brief:
Surrealism Puzzle is one of those jigsaw puzzles with square pieces that was created by the developer GameREA. We've had almost forty jigsaws of varying kinds from them since they first joined the giveaway project last September (thanks to Falcoware Games).

You can see a video of game play HERE.
The Game:
Each of the ten surreal images is on a 5 x 5 grid, with the puzzle pieces on the right side of the screen.

When you start a puzzle, the completed image is presented for several seconds, then disappears. You can restart the puzzle by pressing the circular back arrow or move on to the next puzzle by clicking on the right arrow beneath the puzzles. There are also two buttons that toggle the music on and off. You can access a list of the controls via the main menu (see the image immediately below this paragraph that gives details of the controls).

Drag the pieces you want to place on the empty grid to the position you think they belongs in. Unlike some puzzles we've been given over the last few years, these do not lock into place if placed in the correct element of the grid. Once you've completed the puzzle a short message saying COMPLETED LEVEL appears beneath the image, then the next puzzle pops up.

All puzzles include a timer and shouldn't take more than four of five minutes at the most to complete, unless you like to complete them at a leisurely pace. :)
Conclusion:
If you enjoy looking at surreal imagery, this is one you'll enjoy. I love surreal imagery, both photographic and artistic, for example the imagery of artists such as Roberto Matta, Max Ernst, Alberto Giacometti, Dorothy Tanning, Rene Magritte, Salvador Dali, Francesca Woodman, and other surreal artists, though I never got into Pablo Picasso, Man Ray, Lee Miller and a few other less known surreal artists/photographers.

Today's offerings were for me a little too similar colour-wise but were still a reasonable challenge to complete.
Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed Surrealism Puzzle game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 63 antimalware engines. You can see the completed scan HERE

Whiterabbit-uk,

The images from today's surreal jigsaw images were remarkably similar to the art of an ex-girlfriend of mine (from the late 80's) who I courted for a year while at university. She painted in a very similar fashion to this unknown artist. We used to paint and draw each other in psychedelic/surreal ways and would go out into the countryside and spend an afternoon drawing various subjects such as trees, dry stone walls and old buildings with superimposed images of ourselves. My favourite medium was coloured pencils as they were less messy than oils and other paints. Regrettably, I only have one drawing she did with oil pastels that was given as a present during our time together; (the drawing reminded me of the scene from the 1959 version of 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' where they find a chamber full of giant mushrooms) One of my best and largest works was painting a bathroom ceiling and walls for a friend who wanted somewhere to relax. I used oils for the scene, included galaxies, gaseous clouds, planets and a comet (for the comet and suns I initially painted the subjects then sprayed crushed luminescent dust onto them, which created a glow in the dark effect and gave the whole scene an eerie ghostly appearance when the main light was turned off; the bathroom had no windows. . The work took me almost two weeks to complete and the cost of the materials (paints, brushes and pallet knives was astronomical), but the result was one of my favourite works despite getting a really sore neck while painting the ceiling. I have some photographs of each of the walls and ceiling somewhere. I'll post them in the forums one day if anyone is interested. ;) Sadly, the tower block where I painted the scene was knocked down years ago. :(
The very first jigsaw puzzle we were given back in February 2008 was called The Infinite Jigsaw puzzle, which had an amazing amount of configurability, such as the ability to change the shape of the puzzle pieces, change the size of the puzzle from a 24 to a 1024 piece puzzle, (you'd need a very large monitor of at least 30'' to 40'' to be able to solve the larger puzzles) as well as the ability to upload any image you had. You can see that giveaway HERE.

There are other free jigsaw puzzles that are still available that are similar to Infinite Jigsaw that also have the ability to upload your own images and select different shapes and sizes e.g. Astra Gift Maker HERE, and from the same site, BigJig HERE and Lena Games for a selection of other jigsaws HERE. You can also do a free daily jigsaw curtesy of Shockwave HERE
There are commercial versions that are very configurable for example Jigsaws Galore HERE and BrainsBreaker HERE. you'll almost certainly be able to find lots more free and commercial jigsaws just by Googling. :)

If you are stuck for images to upload to the above free jigsaw games (which I doubt), there are a plethora of sites that offer free images; one of my favourites that I've visited often is called Digital Blasphemy, where you can download free versions of commercial images that are ideal for the above free and commercial jigsaw puzzles. You can find Digital Blasphemy HERE.

Today's game is just pure simplicity. Gamerea has lots of puzzles to choose from in their catalog of games. UniDen is another developer of these kinds of puzzles as well.

If you have a good imagination you may think that the images here could be a re-imagined world of Myst in a sense in a desert setting. I know that at the beginning of Myst: Uru, you start in a desert. If you want to check that out, some sites may still have the demo to download although it was designed for Windows XP and may not run on Win 7 / 8 / 10 / 11.

Overall it's a nice distraction for your lunch break or whenever you need to have a puzzle fix but it's short and won't last forever.
