What fun! I wish I hadn't missed the Winter Biathlon offered here since I attended the Olympics in Calgary in 1988. Watching the athletes take their laps for missed targets has new meaning for me now as my character looses strength and has to put her hands on her knees and catch her breath as the rest of the pack go by.

I was competing in a field of 12 (I think). Even when I adjusted my variables of agility, speed, accuracy, determination etc. to the max - the first few games were a bear until I learned to conserve my energy. If I was too out of breath when I got to the targets, I couldn't hold my bow steady and had a tough time hitting the target. It was hilarious watching the other runners fall or get exhausted as well. Each character has variables and all can be set by me - I can make one an absolute idiot If I want.

The crowd cheering and clanging the cow bells for me was very nostalgic. I just wish they had included some Western athletes from Canada, the US and GBR. Since there were three or four from each country, it shouldn't have been difficult to do.

I want to have a good horror adventure.

I have downloaded both of the Biathlon games, installed and activated both games with no problem but I cannot get either one to get past the intro screen. At the end of the intro, instead of going to the next screen to begin the game It takes me back to the set up file page. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? If so, please leave a comment with instructions. Thanks a million!

I have something disturbing to report. I could not install the first Biathlon game, it kept stating that the extracted files were not responding. I deleted it and tried again with today's Biathlon. Not only did the not responding message repeat, but this time it kept proliferating, refused to respond to repeated efforts to cancel, end task, or C A D. The computer itself froze and I had to disconnect the electric power to stop the mess. I have been warned that this can be a dangerous thing to do, but after a time, I regained control and the computer is acting normally now. I just wanted to warn any other reader out there who is a little shaky about computers and their vagaries, that this can happen. So sad, no more attempts to download Merscom for me.

I much prefer FPS games myself, but I am torn between calling this game boring and a serious challenge. I don't know if the actual biathlon takes damn near a 1/2 hour to complete, but these rounds did and watching your character run all that time was a little hard to deal with. By the same token, I got my ass handed to me (best finish 7th) all three times I played it at the medium level and was on my way to more of the same on the easy level when I ran out of time. It would be nice if there was a save function...at least I didn't find it...especially considering the length of time it takes to finish one round. Otherwise, it seemed fairly realistic with some nice graphics. I'll give it a 7/10 because it was so hard. Would have given it more if it was a little more action oriented. Guess I would rather kick down the door than try and figure out if the window was a better option 8-P

Man ¡I love the new big games! I can't believe some ppl complain about getting this for free. Whatever, being from South America I'm not big into winter sports. Still decent game, nice graphics, sounds and smooth gameplay. I'd love to see more smart (not the button-mashing kind) sports games featuring summer olympics events like track and field, swimming, gymnastics, weightlifting, shooting, et al, a decent game for those sports is long overdue. If you know any please let me know.

For some strange reason the program wanted to install in Bullet Candy. This already happened with Biathlon Winter, but discovered it to late.

Well I've seen that many people have been keen on seeing some good buld 3d games like Htiman or say max payne, but then you've got to understand the sole purpose for GAOTD, which is to promote new softwares, if it would start to give known and popular softwares and games, dudes, it'll be at a loss. Hitman or NFS won't pay GAOTD for showing their things here.

I haven't been able to download any of the neat games... :(

While this game may or may not be for me or for my family, I want to voice my appreciation for what GGOTD is striving to do - give the public some free software. Every now and then I come across something my kids tell me they just can't live without....and when I don't find something we can use, I will still say thank you and wait for the next one rather than to whine about it.

Another day, another game I can not download as both the main site & mirror link wont work.
Whats up GGOTD. ? I have a fast cable connection. I couldn't get yesterdays game and again today. This doesn't seem normal to me. Yesterdays and todays game download problem is only an example. I have had this issue with other games offered here as of late.
It seems as when the file size went over 100 MB. is ware the problem seems to be.
It's not my connection or browser either as I use FF. and I also have IE. 6 & 7 on two computers.
I have even went as far as foolish as this may sound, disabled my firewall. Nothing happening ! This is getting stale fast. I still like what you guys do for us GGAOTD. Keep up the great work, but, please fix this server issue. Thank you.

I cant seem to get the game to run... I have downloaded, installed and so on.. Yet the game app. Dont appear to be anywhere.. I am running Xp MC edition.

Would have liked to check it out.. But think this one is a no go for some reason. I will continue to fiddle with it. See if I can get it to run.. Thanks GGOTD!

For people complaining about others not having fast internet, will you please get a damn clue. Some people cannot have a high speed internet access because of where they live. The whole world does not revolve around you. (and yes i have high speed)

And for the whiner, whining about their computer. Either get a new one or shut up. Why should anyone care you havent upgraded? Last time i checked this was a site for anyone to use. What do u want, more dwarves games? geez

#6: I'm on a similar setup, but works great for me. Problem is likely your own computer. If you're having trouble unzipping them, try ALZip (free).

I don't mind that different games are offered - but 3 sporting/olympiad ones in a row! Give me a break here. I don't care for sports, so this has been a booooring week!

#20, that idea is ridiculous! It would probably cost GGOTD about hundreds of thousands per game, the sizes would be ridiculous among others.

Its like asking the regular GAOTD to give you a copy of Photoshop- its just not practical. I myself have no idea how GAOTD earns money (advertising?) but it costs a bomb to get licensing for a game, even if for a day.

On to the review: This game is sadly very similar to Winter Biathlon... but its OK still. Right, and... I'm kinda sad. This game is really difficult. (either that or I am crap at games).

Looks like we found a replacement for the Dwarves :D

Do the words "GIVE UP!" have any meaning nowdays?

You know what will take this website up in the top 500 top sites, some real games like Hitman, Fifa, Medal of honor etc.
with games like that a video post about it on metacafe, youtube etc would increase the page traffic and views, so GOTD you might wanna consider my advice. It might b a higher price but it will defiantly have higher rewards.

I had the same problem yesterday with the game. When I click on the download now bar (and the mirror link too) I get the explorer page that "Internet Explorer can't Display this Web Page" message. This has been a drag because I finally got hooked up with DSL two days ago and I can't enjoy its benefits. I checked under "Internet Options" on the Advanced tab and both SSL and TLS are enabled.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

I don't have any personal objection to this game, but the timing could have been better - based on the screenshots, this is similar to the winter biathlon. Unless there's something I'm not aware of, it may have been better to put at least a month between these two variants to get a better coverage of visitors that come and go.

Which reminds me - the was a quirk in the Winter edition if you used Windows Vista's Game Explorer to run the game (when you drag a shortcut into that explorer). The game wouldn't run as the "start in" path wasn't filled by adding the game. Since the summer edition is the same engine, I strongly believe the same problem exists with this game as well. Running the game directly won't cause any problem.

Not ALL games are for ALL people im not much into puzzle games and there are a lot of those . I do like sports/arcade games . So if this isnt you cup of tea ,dont whine about just dont download and for the next day like the rest of us . Thanks GOTD !

Sure, this is lame for the serious gamers, but it's something different. The running AI is fairly realistic--you get winded going uphill, you run fast going downhill. If you miss your archery targets, you have to run penalty laps. The speech isn't translated into English. I'm no gamer; I have no idea what an official said to me, but it was probably "If you don't get your behind moving, you're going to be disqualified". I don't know what the spectators were saying, but it was probably "You suck at this".

Still hoping for glyph.
the controls on that winter one left a little to be desired so ill pass on this one as it probably uses the same engine.

this is definately an improvement on previous games, but unfortunately i am not into sport games, but keep up the great work GGOTD

Why are there are only 6 negative comments, but evaluated thumbs up and down show 6 Up and 1 Down? If I knew this game was gonna run today, i woulda downloaded the one yesterday to go with it. I hope to see the tank game again on here.

More Merscom games. More good games on the way. But i still haven't found a simple answer for the problem: i can't unpack Mescon's large games! (WW2 Tank Commander and Biathlon 2006 Go For Gold, of course following site rules and read me files). Please GaD Team, consider i'm on a Win2K machine, 512 MB/RAM and everything else runs nice and sweet here!
