Whiterabbit-uk,
did they also delete the links to other games usually appearing on the desktop after installing? It simply makes me nervous... with others I can live (opening the offering page after ending the game or being able to uninstall additional 60-minutes-games) I'm between two chairs at the moment...

Install to my personal win 7 de-matrix'd shtf version, APPEARS TO BE a decent game, the glitch I see here is some weird thing where the mouse at the bottom of the Screen pops out of the full screen to minimized whole show to taskbar. clicks on the taskbar and boom back in business, EXCEPT I forget to move the mouse first and BOOM back to the task bar. I learned it's glitchin' after three times lol.
So advice when it minimises, Two or three clicks and Then Wait, then move MOUSE CURSOR UP BEFORE CLICKING! And then finally, CLick anywhere to continue.
else it's Back to the TASKBAR
Staying away from the BOTTOM with the mouse cursor,
WORKING through the levels, but seems like my initial thought was right it is a decent game, after getting past the first couple levels it then feels EASIER to play somehow.
Also shifted options | full screen, then the mouse can go off and work on something else. I like full screen better on this game personally. Even though windowed behaves similar when minimized to taskbar because of the always on top directive.
peace

Ooh, great game! This is a platformer like 'SkyTaxi' but with nicer graphics, and I do love these quick-loading, mouse-control games that you can play for a 20-minute break -- which is usually all the break I get. (I'm at level 6 after 30 minutes.)
Thanks, MyPlayCity, GGOTD; and, of course Whiterabbit (get some rest, Stephen!)

Fun little game for when you're looking for something not too demanding, but the normal asking price seems a little high. Runs fine on latest Win 10 x64 insider build. The "jump" sound is a little annoying (sounds like the little guy has the hiccups, in my opinion) but you can replace the "hero_jump.ogg" file if you like.

As usual, downloaded and installed fine on my Windows 10 64.
Although I usually don't enjoy this type of game (too uncoordinated and embarrassed when my then 4 year old grandson beats me at them), I found I really enjoyed this one. The play is easy - so far - and, unlike yesterday's game, the controls responded to the mouse quickly. So far I haven't quit in total frustration!!! Graphics are simple and colorful and the music also enjoyable. It will be a nice game to take a break with.
Thanks for another good game!!

A nice looking game, that plays well on my Win 10 64bit. Lot of secrets, some of which I found difficult to reveal, but that's probably just me,lol. May be better suited for the younger set, but I'll put more time on it when I have a chance.

A fun little game to play except upon exiting it rearranges my screen icons.Have had this "problem" (more like an annoyance} before.Anyone know a way to prevent this? Thanks
Save | Cancel
Dusty, it could be that your usual screen resolution is higher than the game's resolution in full screen. When this happens, Windows 'helpfully' rearranges all your desktop icons to fit the lower resolution, usually squishing them together, especially if you have a lot of icons.
It's a royal pain when that happens, because even when normality is restored, the icon layout stays the same as it was in the (lower) screen resolution. One thing though, right click your desktop and click View, then make sure Auto arrange icons is OFF.
That alone won't solve the problem totally though. To do that, I recommend a piece of freeware called DesktopOK from SoftwareOK.com. Using that, you can Save and Restore icon layouts to your heart's content.
I hope that helps both you and anyone else who has that problem!

Cad Delworth CEng MBCS, Thank you for taking time to answer my question.Much appreciated.

Dusty, you're very welcome!
This doesn't happen so much nowadays; but there was a time when games that could ONLY be played full screen did so by changing the screen res. FIRST. On really slow PCs, you could literally see this happen for a split second just before the full screen game kicked in.

"Subsea Relic" definitely keeps my attention. I love the music and appreciate being able to turn it down. That's always a nice game feature. I think the graphics are cute and fitting for the genre. I liked how the instructions were given along the way. It doesn't take long to catch on either.
Overall, I feel this game is fast paced and has enough variety to keep it interesting. I give it a 9/10 and a thumbs up. Thanks MyPlayCity for the giveaway today and thanks GGOTD.

I was going to let this one go by but after reading the comments I gave it a second thought. Seemed to download and install OK but unlike the success had by the other Win.10/64 commenters, I can't get it to play. The screen blacks out and doesn't come back up to start the game. Rebooted my computer and tried again with the same results. I uninstalled it and went to some other games including some from from Game Giveaway and they seem to be working. Reinstalled Subsea Relic again with the same results. Can't ever recall having a problem with a game from Game Giveaway. Suggestions anyone?

I have tried umpteen times to install but keep getting an error message when the GOTD "Activating" popup appears "FAILED TO CONNECT. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER" even though I have been connected to the internet all along, obviously it has to be connected to activate the program.
I have tried unzipping with WinRAR, 7zip and Peazip and yet the same message appears time after time.
Can someone please throw some light on what the problem could be, I could be going grey because of this error.
Thank you very much in advance.

Subsea Relic downloaded, unpacked, installed and ran as expected with no errors, glitches or lag on my windows 10 desktop. This is a seriously cute and fun game - this little game kept my attention for awhile today even though I have 3 AAA games waiting in my gaming que. Ty for another awesome game. :) (On a side note, It seems like you're going to get grief no matter what direction you go with giving away games, whether it be through steam or not.)

Download, set up, and play are normal on my (aging) Win7/64 laptop. I appreciate a casual, non-timed game when I just want to play around and not be *challenged* and this fits the bill. I've only completed the first level, and so far it doesn't seem much different from others in the genre but it'll be a keeper for me. Platformers are not my favorite kind of game, (thus my lukewarm review) but this one is pretty fun, once you get used to the controls.

Mouse support! Yay! (I never thought I'd be this pleased with mouse support in 2016)
As described above this is a 2D platform game similar to Mario Bros. I generally don't play these types of games as I find the rushed, overly fast bouncing nature of them to be stressful. I always feel wired after playing them. This game is a bit different in that the action is more subdue, ostensibly because it occurs underwater. You perform all the same actions as Mario Bros. (collect coins, treasure, jump over enemies, tap on the head of some to destroy, etc.) but you do so in a much more relaxed fashion. When you jump, it's gentle and you have the option of holding the jump button to swim for a bit, giving you more air time to make a decision as to where to land. I really liked this about the game.
Even with the slower pace, I still found the game engaging (I played through 6 levels). There are always coins/treasure to collect and objects to navigate around. I never once found myself bored playing this. In the beginning every level introduces a new challenge, either a new enemy to avoid or a new feature to use in the environment. Before the new level starts you are presented with a window that explains what is new. This is VERY welcome. During game play there are floating question marks that when collected result in a popo-up box introducing more asp ects of the game play. I like being introduced to the more advanced game play a little at a time and I really like the question mark technique. I HATE playing a game and suddenly things stop for a quick tutorial. Having the question mark icon allowed me to be mentally prepared for a stop in the action.
The mouse control is straightforward and works well. Where ever you point the mouse, that is where the character goes until it hits the mouse pointer on screen. To jump, you left click; hold the left button to swim for a bit. I found using the mouse to be much more accurate than the keyboard. When I was jumping and needed to land between two items, I just jumped/swam and placed the mouse pointer between the two. When the character hit that point on screen, I stopped holding the button and he dropped straight down to the ground. I liked the added accuracy of this game in this regard and I really appreciate the extended jump via swimming.
I like that the "enemies" to be avoided are things that could be dangerous to a scuba diver. For those that you can get rid off, I especially like that you are instructed to bounce on top of them to "remove" them from the game, rather than saying you can kill them. I'm presuming you can die by running into these things too much during the game but I never did on these beginning levels. Surprisingly I did die by following some dropping coins down between rocks. There was a jellyfish I removed over an opening between the floor and when it popped there were coins that dropped down. I presumed that I could swim down with them to a lower level, but that didn't work out. I guess maybe it was supposed to be an abyss.
You also need to worry about your oxygen tank in later levels. At first there was no issue, but then I started running out of O2 on one level. There are spare tanks scattered throughout these levels to pick up but I imagine in later levels this will add needed challenge to them.
There is a very helpful arrow that points to the next treasure location. I didn't see any way to turn this off for those who don't like it. I did like it very much. I thought it added to the enjoyment as I didn't have to guess where something was. I don't like wandering back and forth with no idea where to go. There are enough hidden treasure boxes and coins to satisfy my need for surprise discoveries. This gives me the option to quickly complete the required tasks and either end the level or continue to wander around looking for other items. I don't think it will make the game too easy especially on the higher levels.
You can get to the options screen either between levels or during the game by hitting the ESC key. You can set the resolution, go into windowed mode, and adjust the sound. You can even adjust the controls to your liking.
Speaking of sound, the music wasn't bad and it wasn't great. It didn't grate on my nerves but it's also something I can live without. The sound effects aren't too bad. About the only thing I think I didn't like was the character saying "Hup!" every time he jumped. I didn't hate it, but unlike the other sounds it's something I noticed, meaning it will probably get annoying later.
Overall this is a very well made, thought out game. Perfectly good for the kiddies and entertaining enough for adults. I don't think it will spaz them out the way I've seen Mario Bros. do; it certainly didn't to me.

I give this game a 6 or good. I did enjoy playing. It has a ton of good things in it. The coins, swim, jump,etc...I am new to Platformers so I can't play or move or navigate as well as others. Maybe that is why 6- a game needs to be simple so I can conquer it- This game is- so I don't know what my problem is...My feedback will say that I had trouble to move the crosshairs for shoot...Game has great graphics.. a winner...

Thumbs up Windows 10 x64 Pro. Fun, nice graphics, easy nuf, sliders, relaxing in sense that one can win & just play a level at a time now & then for quickies. Install warnings -- there will be some junk icons and a popup about "almost done just install this browser thing" or something like that. Ignored that, closed window. Game icon will be on desktop but also 2 junk url ones you delete. And as Rabbit says there's that game exit link to a game site but that's no biggie. Just be aware there's hoops & deletes to deal with.
Worth the bother for a nicely designed, bouncy, exploring game for Memorial Weekend.

The first time I tried to run the setup file, I kept getting a "Subsea Relic Setup has stopped working" message. (This happened both with AVG running and with it temporarily disabled, as I tend to now have to do to run the installer.)
Since it's such a small game, I deleted the Setup files and re-downloaded, and it worked correctly the second time.
Not sure what was going on with that first attempt, but thought I would post about it.

TrickyKitty, are you running the installer as Administrator?
And when it fails, have you tried the "reinstall using Windows recommended options" er, option? that has in the past got recalcitrant GGOTD installers working for me in the past (with AVG on temp. disable, as you say).
Save | Cancel
Yes, I'm the only user/admin on my computer. Usually I have no problems with installing.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean about the "reinstall" option. The error message is just a pop-up with "Close Program" as its only button.
I don't still have that original download file, and as I mentioned the second download installed fine (with AVG temporarily deactivated), so I can't really give any further info. It might have simply been a bad download of the first setup file.

Whiterabbit, thanks for this nice retro-game, reminiscent of Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong. I've always liked this genre. This is a fast load and pretty quick install, compared with some I've gotten here, and the introduction screens are simple, readable, and very quick to display and go on to the next page after clicking "next". I like not having to wait for elaborate imagery and vocalizations to complete before reading the next page.
One item to look at is the description of this giveaway. On the section labeled "The Game:", instead of referring to the pieces of the artifact, it calls them "peaces". I'm pretty sure this is not the British spelling for pieces (I recognize that there are numerous spelling variances that help define our two similar yet unique cultures).

LOVE this game. Funny I was just thinking the other day "I should play Alex Gordon again". This is a fun game, challenging and I live for the secret places :) More secret places are always better in my opinion. Sometimes you just need a game to play with a carefree kind of fun and this is one of them.
Only thing I would recommend is if we could retrieve the bombs when they do not hit the target. They lay on the ground and could be retrieved. I love getting the extra coins for hitting something.
Something else that could be interesting is when you retrieve the relics if they had a little description, ie : you have found the Shroud of Turin or some such thing. You would be surprised with other games how a little know fact has sent me off to the internet just to see what it really was in ancient times. So an opportunity for a little learning experience.
All in all a delightful give away and MANY Thanks White Rabbit for your dedication and to the developers for a seriously fun game. Off to burn a couple of more minutes in game land!

downloaded and installed fine on W7 laptop. Played thru to the first level with no issues - tho as someone noted the sound is unusually loud, even turned almost off on the game settings. Its been awhile since I played a keyboard game, it will take a bit of getting used to. An old fashioned game, will be good for those days when you just want to burn some time without thinking too much!

Downloaded and installed fine on my old XP SP3 system. (Especially now that I'm using the Opera browser, which IS still supporting Win XP.) I'm not real good at platformers, so it'd really help if there were a Relaxed mode. And more tutorial help. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've not even managed to get through the first level yet! Maybe my mouse and/or keyboard are too old? (Or maybe their operator is!) Ah well, maybe I'll try again later.
Oh yes, I do appreciate the giveaway, and I especially like the fact that this MPC giveaway can be installed wherever you want it, rather than just automatically installing itself to the C:\Program Files directory, which has been the case with all the MPC games I've installed from their site recently.

Thanks, Rabbit. Actually, I meant to bold the phrase "from their site" to distinguish games obtained from their site from MPC games obtained from GOTD site.
And there is a timer: it's that little air tank down in the lower left hand corner. Very appropriate icon/graphic for this game; just I'd love it if someone would tell me there's a Relaxed mode I missed...

Okay, someone, somewhere, doesn’t want me to get any work done! I like this game, too much LOL
First out of the gate, installs fine on the nightmare Win10 64 bit. Runs fine, no stalling.
I didn’t think I’d like this as it sounded like a hidden object game, but I love it! You lead the little diver guy through the underwater to collect gems, gold and objects within an certain time while avoiding critters. The premise is quite simple, though the play isn’t. Though aged, it’s plenty challenging!
While the graphics are a bit dated and aged, the play is fast, though frustrating until you get used to the controls. Rather reminds me of the very old games like Pandemonium (it came with my Win98 machine that’s how old it is) and such with the jumping and collecting whatever. The jumping takes a bit of getting used to, the same with the navigation, but you get the hang of it. In the first couple levels, I’ve not gone beyond those yet, there are plenty of hints which give you tips on how to work them. Just takes a bit to get used to.
The play is simple and finding whatever is as well. Not as easy as it looks, honestly. The music isn’t bad and does seem to fit with the game, as do the sounds. Thankfully, you can turn it down as it’s rather loud, even on lower settings. A huge plus here is you can use either the mouse (what I’m more comfortable with) or the keyboard to play, something I know plenty like better.
This game just needs some updated graphics, nothing more, to make it almost perfect. You could also give us a choice of characters and their suits or something like it. No more adding anything to it as it’s good how it is.
HUGE thumbs up from me though I’ll be grumbling as I won’t get any work done! Thanks for a great giveaway!

I haven't played one of this type of game for a long time, not very good at them and found myself getting frustrated. Thought I would give this a go anyway and see if it's still the same. Well, this one is fun, nice graphics and controls easily and I can actually understand what I'm meant to do - come on, I'm a pensioner!
I've only played a few levels so far, but I am definitely going to keep this one as I'm enjoying it. Thank you MPC and GGAOTD,
