In Brief:
Star Police is a short tower defence game with ten levels, each level having 10 waves (except the first with 5 waves), The developer has given us several games back in 2019 thanks to Falcoware Games i.e. Galaxy Monster (April 11th 2019), HERE, OldWar 2 (Aug 5th 2019), OldWar Oct 3rd 2019), XENOS Defense (Oct 25th 2019) and Tank Hurricane (Dec 20th 2019); as well as todays giveaway back in May this year HERE; whether the game has been updated since we last got it, I cannot say because I no longer have the one given back in May 17th 2021.

You can see a few Steam community reviews of the game HERE and a video of game play HERE.

Introduction:
Aliens attacked the earth and enslave humanity, only you, in the person of the commander-in-chief of the "STAR POLICE" department, can resist the alien threat. STAR POLICE is the classic defence of your base. Defend your base and earn money. Hordes of enemies will try to break through the defences. Give them a hard fight. Defend the approaches to your base, withstand several attacks using 10 types of cool weapons with the possibility of their upgrades.

Reference accessed HERE 25th November 2021.
The Game:
Star Police is a top down relatively easy Tower Defense game with the ability to speed up time by x2. There are ten different tower defences starting from the cheapest; a single gun costing 200 credits, double gun for 400, energy gun for 800, napalm for 1500, sniper tower for 1800, antiaircraft gun for 2200, rocket gun for 2600, fire gun for 3000, plasma gun for 10000 and a turret for 15000; each gun starts with a particular radius of fire, amount of damage and speed of reloading. These can be upgraded four times to increase the firepower and area covered etc. You can also sell towers at half the original cost.

There are ten levels each with a varying number of waves. Credit isn't carried over to the next level; I'm not sure if surplus money is added to your score, which is cumulative. If you end the game and restart, the score you've already gained remains unless you choose to create a new game. When continuing, you can replay any level that you've already unlocked. With only ten levels you can easily complete this game in less than an hour (unless your Tower Defense game experience is new. Later levels do get harder, but I was able to beat every level without losing any health, which starts at 100 (though I did lose a little health in my play through last night, but I was busy taking more screen captures and had forgotten to buy more towers, so one got through the defences)

Conclusion:
Although short, it has all the elements you'd expect from a top down tower defence game. If you don't have it from the previous giveaway, it's worth downloading despite its limited number of levels. I would be interested to know whether this is the same version of the one given away earlier this year?

Notes on Security

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 56 antimalware engines.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that only opens your browser once to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and also places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is because Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then closed the game down.)

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Whiterabbit-uk,

Other Free Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE and HERE for the latest non Steam and Steam freebies. Also for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB with your Steam account all games that you already have will be highlighted in green. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see 100% off.

Steam have started their Autumn/fall sale which ends on 1st December at 10am Pacific.

Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; recent additions include Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner and Contract with the Devil. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (around 100 are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free, so you should grab them as soon as you can.
The latest Epic freebie's ends today later this afternoon. Until then they include Guild of Dungeoneering - a turn-based, dungeon-crawling, card-battler with a twist: instead of controlling the hero you build the dungeon around them. Using cards drawn from your Guild decks, you lay down rooms, monsters, traps and of course loot! Meanwhile your hero is making their own decisions on where to go and what to fight. Also KID A MNESIA EXHIBITION - An upside-down digital/analogue universe created from original artwork and recordings to commemorate 21 years of Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac; this title is due for release next week; seems like Epic are doing the same as when A Total War Sage: Troy was released last year. Only on the first day of release y could you get it free. Finally and Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) an atmospheric puzzle platformer developed in collaboration with the Iñupiat, an Alaska Native people, drawn from a traditional story that has been shared across the generations. Guide both characters in single-player mode or play cooperatively with a friend as you trek through frozen tundra, leap across treacherous ice floes, swim through underwater caverns and face enemies both strange and familiar.
Later today we will be getting two games that include Antstream - Epic Welcome Pack - Grab 1090 Gems for free to use in-game! This in-game currency can be spent on playing games, challenges and limited-time tournaments! Gems can also be used to unlock harder challenges and play turn-based PvP against friends and other players!. Better still we will also be getting the base game for The Hunter: Call of the Wild; (which is presently my number one favourite game that I've been playing virtually every day both solo and with friends since June 2021). The base game includes two of the available 10 reserves i.e. Hirschfelden (Germany) and Leyton Lakes (United States); which you can find details of HERE. There are several DLC's that should be available free as well (e.g. Backpacks, new species, Compound Bow, Shooting Range and others). I've posted an edited copy of my Steam review over in the forums HERE; (I've still to add images and links to various tutorials), in preparation for the giveaway, together with lots of screen captures that show the beauty of this game. Each of the reserves covers around 25 to 30 square miles of reserve that you can explore fully, with day and night cycles as well as weather effects and environmental and animal sounds; the immersion within this game is amazing.
The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best. A more recent addition that is worth checking out are the Fanatical bundles that you can find HERE (thanks Delenn for reminding me of this bundle, I've just recovered my account and found thousands of Steam keys listed from various bundles I purchased from 2012 to 2017).

Also well worth checking is CDKeys, where you can pick up games with as much as 98% off. I got last years STAR WARS™ Squadrons for 98% off back in October, costing me a crazy £0.38p. You'll find CDKeys HERE. You can get the Ultimate Edition of the acclaimed game Control (GOG version) for £0.59, Dragon Age: Inquisition (Epic version) for £0.49 (both 98% off), both from CD Keys.

Almost forgot, Ubisoft are celebrating 35 years in the business and have been giving away free AAA games. At the moment you can grab Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory for free; (LAST CHANCE to GRAB) available until later today. You can find details of how to get the game HERE

Finally, if you are having issues running todays game giveaway check out the Game FAQ's thread over in the forums HERE.
