Another fun game from Playrix. The game installed fine, and runs well. I like hidden object games in general, and I appreciate that this game is a little different than most HOGs. I like that the regular objects are shown in outline only, and I enjoy using the magnifying glass to find the special objects. It did take me a couple of attempts before I understood how the magnifying glass works. The storyline is okay. To be nitpicky, there are some mistakes (misspellings and missing words) in the text for the last level. Big thanks to Playrix and GGotD for offering Spirit of Wandering: The Legend. Two thumbs up.

Downloaded ok, Ran ok, deleted ok.

Unfortunately it's a tedious and boring game that lasted 5 minutes before being deleted. Have seen the same boring 'find the hidden objects' type of game far too many times now, but saying that this game has a magnifying glass with a time limiting view to find additional objects. This idea is new and novel and that's the only reason it lasted the full 5 minutes.

Nice effects the mixture of sound effects, music and graphics. I am not sure what it invokes in me. I might jump out of my chair if there were some kind of random suprise scene. Say finding a really hard to find object makes an explosion sound and some ghost comes out and guides ya out on a side tour.

amazingly we've had over 21 thousand downloads of this game. One of the highest download numbers on the game giveaway.

No problems downloading, installing, and activating on win home premium 64 bit. This was the second time i tried this gave from GAOTD and had the same problem. It will only run in window mode. I can go to options and select full screen and it changes to full screen, but when i click on the back button to select play it reverts back to window mode. Had to uninstall again as window mode is just to small to see the detail needed to play, especilly when the window is not resizable.

A way around the problem in windowed mode would be to change the resolution to a lower setting.

I'm not sure why you aren't able to change to full screen. did you uncheck the full screen checkbox at the start of the game when it first booted up?

Poster #25 prefers the silhouettes to face the same direction as the object, but I like having them at different angles, it makes the game a bit more challenging. I love HO games, I hope we get more of them soon.

I got this game last time it was offered, and highly recommend it -- it is charming! As with all the Playrix games, it has high-quality graphics and good music, and some twists to keep it interesting; and the no-time-limit makes it relaxing, too.

A total waste of download time. I played this before and no matter what name I put in, it wouldn't let me play again. I thought it was the next chapter. I like Playrix games most of the time. They need to come out with the next one.

Hi Kathy , read the info I posted above about deleting registry keys associated with any saves (not the registration key though) , plus appdata info. This woud clear out any save data and allow you to restart. You could also try playing with a different name. Also try deleting your profile then restarting.

Lets hope Playrix read your comment and hopefully update the game.

I normally do not like hidden object games and have not tried one for about 6 months. This one I liked though because it was interesting enough for my 10 year old and my 6 and 7 year old could still play it because the objects are searched for using their outlines. They do not have to know how to read to have fun searching for objects. Thanks for offering this game.

My wife and i both played this fun game together, and it was fun to find everything. :)

I have downloaded and completed the game. I really enjoyed it and the searching for items was certainly more challenging than some. The storyline however was a bit lacking. She's trying to find her love who we are to assume is a ghost and her ghostly crew. Um. And do what with them? At the end you find that it's part one of a trilogy. I'll still seek out the other two, if they've been published, just to see where this goes but must say I hope the story line improves.

Good game. Downloaded it before, and it's enjoyable.

Nice game. I agree that I would certainly be disappointed to have paid $19.95 for it, however.

I like that you have picture clues rather than written clues. When language is an issue, or even if you can't read, then the picture shape clues are good. More challenging is that they are usually from a different perspective. The size can trick you too.

Whilst this game doesn't have a time limit, it gets harder with each level. The objects become more carefully hidden and often so small that I am glad I have new glasses.

The gold levels seem extraneous and a bit boring.

Get it for free and you will enjoy it. :)

Played it through, & loved it. Silhouettes that are different from the actual portrait of the item made it more difficult & interesting. For a HOG, it's quite a bit of fun.

Downloaded this last week. Found it while searching for a weekend game. So glad to see we are back this week! Nice game, played a bit fast but is enjoyable. Like the different game play, spikes your interest and the story is okay. Don't agree with the previous teapot comment, I like the idea of having to use your brain a bit to find something. Also think this would be a challenging game for my 9yr great granddaughter to enjoy. She's smart!! LOL

I've played this before. I'm not a great fan of HOGs but this one is pretty much on the good side and well worth playing. :)

I still cannot get the game to download. I get a message that the file is corrupted.

Downloaded and installed without a hitch on XP SP3 laptop. I love HOGs and this is one of my favorites. Thanks GGAOTD and Playrix.

I love HO games, and this one had awesome graphics. I do not like the 'shapes' hidden objects though, as I find myself asking "what the heck is that supposed to be?" lol. I was hoping this was a new chapter from the last one, but all I get is the Congrats for finishing...wait for chapter II...

All in all, this is a great HO game, great graphics, and a nice little story line. Thank you Playrix, for offering it again, and all the games you do. They are some of the very best! The only thing I would suggest is to proof read the story lines more than once as I have noticed some small errors also. Can't remember what they were now, or I would state them. Sorry.

Hidden Object Game ;-)

I have this game and it's one of my favorites because it isn't easy to play. I downloaded mine from BigFish but it runs fine on my XP system. The concept of a hidden object game usually means the objects are relatively easy to find, I have a boat load of HOG (Hidden Object Games) in my search for that perfect, unique HOG that won't leave me bored or allow me to run through it in record time. This game does not disappoint. The clues are hard enough to stump even the most seasoned player, the objects aren't distorted or over/under sized like in some games. The objects are not out of place to the point you could guess on looking that it doesn't belong. When it takes me 20 minutes to find a jar in a room of jars scattered or at the bottom of the ocean in the scene, THAT means it was hidden well and it's satisfying to find it. If I had more thumbs, they'd all be pointing up. I will enjoy this game long after this give away expires. Way to go!!

Just a comment regarding what a developer might gain from offering software free here.... beyond the usual "feedback".

I came here looking to download the game for my 2 boys. As I looked at the description to see if it was appropriate for them, I noticed under the "Featured Titles" there were other software games by this same developer, so I visited the developer's site.

I have a social community website and have been interested in hiring a company to develop a game idea I have that really has a new twist. With a few clicks I was able to find the section on business opportunities and also found some free games I can embed on my site until I get enough traffic to warrant the expenditure of developing a new game. (Actually, a few tweaks and new storyline to an existing game model would probably suffice...And I'm hoping that would be cheaper ;)

Bottom line, because this developer gave a game away on here for one day.....they gained my future business and I will give them 1st shot at developing a game for me if their pricing is competitive. Unfortunately it will take me awhile to save up enough to get started.

Until then, I will put the free embedded games on my site. This by the way was also a smart move on the developer's part as it will help get more traffic quicker and I'll be ready to pay for developing a new game sooner.

Definitely different from the other HOGs. unfortunately I am already stuck and will have to look up some hints. On both of the first locations, I am trying to find a cherished object. I go to where the orb is brightest and... no object. The first few times the object appeared and the orb went wild around it, but now nothing is happening outside of the orb getting bright.

The game downloaded, installed and plays on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
I'm a fan of HOGs and this game is unusual (not a bad thing).
The journal does a nice job of telling the story. The list is a silhouette of the items - no word clues. You have to buy a hint and then use the compass to hunt for the item - the compass spins when it's on the item. The silhouette list and hint system makes the game different from most HOG....a solid 8 out of 10 from me.

My suggestion: if you are going to have silhouettes as clues then they should be exact replicas of the items. For example -- if the teapot in the scene has the spout on the right side then the silhouette has the spout on the right side and not on the left side.

I got a previous version of this game long ago, and played it right through (which I can't always manage!). I was disappointed, however, when I found that it wouldn't let me continue with another game - it kept directing me back to the end screen and the credits.

A couple of laptop changes later I'd been watching out for the same download again, but with no luck. I thought the game had gone for good.

When I saw it offered here today, my heart was in my mouth - would it let me start again? And the answer is - YES! I've played a couple of scenes through with no problems, and it's as good as ever, thank you!

The storyline is a little odd, to be honest - though there certainly were female pirates, I doubt whether many dressed as this one does. But leaving that aside, the rest is a good variant on the usual Hidden Object Game. The fact that some things are doubly hidden as "cherished items" adds a little extra interest - you can only see the outline until the right time comes along - and the method of finding these is a novel twist.

The art work is well done, the music better than some, and the pace is good. Even oldies can play the game; there's no great rush to beat the ticking clock, so you can relax and enjoy it.

I haven't yet reached the point where the suggestion of repeating the game in an advanced mode has come up, but I do hope this proves to be available now. I was so disappointed when the previous version finished, with no hope of continuing!

I enjoyed "Wandering" before and I'm enjoying it again, so once again - thank you to GGAOTD! And thank you to the always helpful and informative White Rabbit, too. Your reviews are so useful while I'm deciding which games to download and which to leave for others.

W.r.t. the problem you mention. If it occurs again try clearing out your registry of any entries related to the game. Also clear any saves from the Appdata\Local folder (you'll need to go to the folder options and unhide hidden folders to see this folder. you can get all the information about finding these folders via Google so i won't give a dissertation on the process. If there are any folders relating to the game in your documentss folder or my Games folder (located in the documents folder) delete any reference to saves then you should be able to start the game afresh.

I love the Playrix games. I downloaded this and had no problems. Really enjoyable. Loving to hunt for things, this is right up my alley. Thank you for another great game. Have a nice day all. And, happy game playing. 8:-)

I've just played Spirit of Wandering : The Legend for ten minutes and I really enjoyed it. I don't play hidden object games often, but I find Spirit of Wandering to be charming and relaxing. The spooky pirate theme is great, but then again, I love any kind of nautical theme. I appreciate the effort that's been put into developing a storyline. Graphics are always very important in hidden object games, and with the exception of the large picture of the two main characters, I like the artwork in this game very much. The 'cherished items' concept adds a touch of originality, and the atmospheric effects are immersive. Thanks very much to GOTD and Playrox for this excellent game.

Thanks GOTD. HOGs not my fave game form but this one has fun wrinkles not in others like the orb - find fast a0 secret object after doing a set of regular found objects using shape outline puzzle. Only got sexton tool from first ship so far but took a little doing. Didn't seem to encounter mixing up objects yet mentioned by some.
Ok Win 7 x64. Opens to full screen. Sliders for sound & music. Makes a shortcut.
Nice little winter time passer for NE escapism as cold finally set in.
8.5/10 prob 9/10 for fans since well done visuals, concept, story.

No one else is reporting this issue. Maybe there's a problem with your provider. Try using one of the free download managers that are available?

Why are so many of the games just puzzle types? I don't _like_ puzzles, except crosswords and other word games. How about a solitaire game, or an RPG, or say, golf? I haven't seen any decent free golf games. (There's a very short one available for Google Chrome which whetted my appetite for more.)

We got a very good mini golf game a few years ago. The problem at the moment is that many of the developers that used to give games away either no longer exist due to the recession or have set up their own game giveaways. I've tried to persuade the community to give decent feedback for quite some time now as i believe that this would enable the giveaway team to draw in more developers, ut out of the thousands that do download it's only a very insignificant number that bother to comment in any useful way. We tend to get more comments complaining about the games than those that give constructive comments either negative or positive. I'm sure these complaints don't help to draw more developers to this project.

please make it much more prominent that IE needs to be NOT set to work offline...product downloads fine on chrome, but i usually disable IE unless updating windows...caused frustration until reading deep into overview/install...(imagine being connected to ggotd actively downloading, and concurrently seeing "setup unable to connect"...YES NEEDED INFO WAS IN 1ST COMMENT, but don't doubt that some will not read before install. or intend to save that first long comment for later to read with (not before) the game
have a few other g/gotd offers and am generally sated...thx to g/gotd

I used to place the problems section at the beginning of the review, but felt that it was too much information for the community before reading the actual review of the game. There are only a small number out of the thousands that download these games that have the 'unable to connect' message, or at least only a few that aren't aware of how to get around the problem.

This game is even free, when I download it from game top site. But it is full of promotion.

Technically it's not free in the sense that you own a licence for the game. So long as you allow the promotion, the developer through contract with the provider, in this case Gametop (see my download link above) is paid a retainer so that the provider can give copies away.

Not worth $19.95 since it only takes 3 hours to finish but good game for free.

Just to add my 2p worth:

This is a nice little 'twist' on HOGs. The idea of 'cherished items' which a) require a spyglass to find and b) randomly fade in and out, is an appealing one I haven't seen in other HOGs.

Likewise, having to pay 50 gold pieces each time to use the compass (the hint feature) is another novel idea.

All in all, a very enjoyable HOG and one I would definitely recommend to fellow HOG fans. :)

One note to the developers: it's SEXTANT and not SEXTON! A sexton is a fellow who looks after a church (usually the bellringer and grave-digger as well); a sextant is the ship navigation aid.

Incidentally, I downloaded the MPC version earlier, and mindful of Steven's comments, I set a restore point and prepared for the worst. I should add I use avast! AV, Comodo firewall, and SuperAntiSpyware on my PC. Running the installed game woke up Comodo, which offered to have an online expert help me with the 'malware' I seemed to be tunning. I told Comodo to ignore this and carried on. In short, no toolbars nor home page hijack occurred; only the annoyance of the pre-game MPC screen and the post-game forced browse to MPC. I can't say whether either of these would have happened on a less well protected PC or not.

Anyway, I'll now download the annoyance-free GGOTD version: thanks to all concerned for fixing that problem.

Why do this small games often have a demonic and witchcraft themes I wonder.

I downloaded it during a previous giveaway and played it through to the end. While I don't think it's worth 19.95, I enjoyed it thoroughly and left it on my machine to play again at a later date. This game has several features that I don't recall seeing on other games such as levels that you must go through several times to get everything from the level, that is, you find, say, five objects and then can look for a particular object. Then you find another five objects to look for another particular object. If you click on one of the objects at the wrong time it will not register.

I loved this game when you gave it away the last time. It is a really sweet hidden object game.

I lost this one in the hard drive failure and I am glad to get it back, although it does seem to turn my fan on, so maybe it is a little heavy on this old Dell running XP Media Center aka Pro!

The only thing that I can say is that I liked the concept the first time, but I wonder whatever happened to the sequel to it? There was suppose to be one. The developer is Artogon. I don't remember the year it was first released. On the Artogon site, which is in Russian it is called "Legends of the Journey"...

As mentioned earlier, yes... this game is available for free from a few other sites BUT... the advantage of downloading today’s game from GAOTD is your browser won’t be opened every time you shut the game down. If you download the game from one of the other free sites they will automatically launch your browser at game shutdown and direct you over to their game site.
