Joe Cipriano, not feeling well. Said he would need to take the week off. Very rare for him not to soldier through. I say that as a compliment, not a criticism. He has had health issues ever since he's been reviewing here, well over 15 years, and, like many of us, he's getting up there a bit. :P We sometimes encourage him to take more time for himself, but he's been very dedicated to the project. But, recently, the family, especially his wife, have also been under the weather or have experienced more serious health issues. So, we just hope all is well with him. I'm sure he appreciates your compliment, though.
I'm writing this now because I had no internet for about 10 days after a storm, so didn't even know he'd taken a week or so off until I went back and reviewed old posts to find out. Speaking unofficially for the project and him, though I'm sure they'd approve, glad you enjoy the site.

mediaman13, thanks, I missed this email the other day.
I understand the aging thing, I'm 63+ and not enjoying the golden years like is hoped.
Hope he feels better soon.

I am a hungry spider, dodging a fly swatter. Who tries to catch flies in a web
and then devour them....but difficult environments and an unstable web hinder all my plans...
Yes playing as a spider or the above idea always sounds interesting, but this is another game that attempts at using a base template for a 2D retro pixel web/clicker game (a gamemaker quick job as we'll call it)... very similar therefore to the monster phenomenon game given away here recently where you (generally) click your mouse to move around the levels to reach a goal all while avoiding something chasing you that will harm you if you stay in place too long. https://game.giveawayoftheday.com/monster-phenomenon/
The game uses mouse-only controls and this time you click to attach your spider webs and that propels your spider body around (without precision movement) to eat flies while avoiding a fly swatter which at least makes a bit more sense than some of the other attempts. There is still no tutorial or area where something is not chasing you to get a better handle on the controls. A reticule is moving about you have to avoid or the flyswatter will kill you if you stay in one place too long, and here is where the gameplay fails a bit imo as it causes very high difficulty and I believe most will uninstall after a short playing time after a quick checkout. The fly swatter chasing you around forces you to always move and takes away some potential enjoyment of just learning how to move around casually which actually can be challenging by itself due to the controls.
I see no reason why you cant allow removing of the chasing item in options as this just makes it much harder and most people who dont get the controls for both of those reasons cant get past level 1. Further these games are not really 'developed' such as having puzzles, changing levels, platforming using the interesting control mechanism and relies mostly on a arcade type of gameplay. For now its a quick timewaster if you want to check out something interesting in a spare moment but there isnt much meat on the bones so to speak once you do.
