Ballerina does not appear in notebook. This problem has been highlighted before but still no answer!!!!!!

Installed on Win 10 64-bit with no issues. Took me most of yesterday and the rest of today to finally get through to the end of the game! I had to really think of where to go as the "hint" doesn't really give a hint. I did search the internet for a walkthrough as I just could not find one of the items.

The story was okay, but seemed to end quite abruptly. Thought it would go into more, but I think all the "visions" were to give the story along the way.

Is there any way to make this a fullscreen deal? Even when I have the box checked it appears to play in a windowed mode. Unchecking the box makes it the same size but different location on screen instead of centered. Perhaps there's something I missed in the reading, but the accommodation for filling the screen to make things better visible seems to be lacking. Game works fine other than that, just slow since seeing things is troublesome.

It downloaded fairly easy, took a bit to open. Play is smooth except for a pull/lag in the cursor.
To me it is pretty run of the mill for these type of games, nothing new and one activity usually leads to
another with hogs to find items. I just read a book with similar theme, is she really a fairy? lol! Will play on to see

Nothing has been deleted. In fact, due to my daughters 17th birthday, I've not been moderating at all until now (after 4 a.m.) apart from posting the game review yesterday evening before the game went live. I decided I'd better check to see how many community members had posted comments before I finally retired for the night. The past several weeks has seen a massive reduction in the community commenting on the games given away, so I didn't expect to see many comments today (for example one of the last weeks games only saw a couple of comments throughout the whole of the giveaway. , so was surprised to see over 20 for today's giveaway.

As for your comment, I was tempted to delete it as you seemed more concerned to comment about the moderator than the game; yowever instead I decided reply instead. Why you have to be so negative, especially when this is a site that has given away around 1200 games over the last decade and the fact that I'm a volunteer is beyond me. I spend an inordinate amount of time trying virtually every week to help community members with issues they may have with the games as well as gather information about the games being given away. Most of the actual game reviews are now ported from previous reviews, and most of which I agree with, so don't see the point in spending, even more, time writing stuff that has already been said. Most of the images posted are however my own captures which I've taken while checking the game out. I rarely play these games to the end anymore as I have other things more constructive to my family to occupy me. when I see comments like your's I question why I bother. Thankfully there are a lot of community members who appreciate the time I take to post reviews and take the time to answer most comments posted here. today is an unusual exception. I rarely take any time off from moderating apart from when I'm, away on vacation and if I'm ill.

Thanks GOTD and MyPlayCity for another hidden object game. I've been playing for several hours now, and am resorting to the walk-through videos as I'm stuck. Good game, but why do all of these hidden object programs have such DARK rooms to find the objects?

I always look forward to HOGs, and this was a really nice one. Downloaded without a hitch. I don't like things too easy, so I usually click the 'expert/advanced' play. The graphics were above average and the storyline was pretty good.

i did the fireplace with the symbol in first room it the opened up to show the ballet dancer pic then just disapeared so now i am stuck cant get the scroll to get into third room as the pic is missing from notebook help what do i do

Game would not work as it kept on coming up that I needed a resolution of 1680 x 1050. My monitor is set to 1680 X 1050.

Looks like a nice one: no time-wasting animated cut-scenes or invariably poor voice acting! We'll see about the puzzles once I've downloaded and tried it.

Downloaded in around 15 minutes, installed without a problem under Win10 (no idea what d's problem is), beautiful graphics, intriguing storyline, exactly my kind of game.
There are 2 modes to choose, regular and advanced, no timed mode.

It may just be me or I'm missing something, but this one doesn't seem to be able to save a player's name, therefore only one person can play it at a time, another player will have to wait until the first has completed it before playing, if indeed the program will allow you to restart. Otherwise it seems to be a quality example of the genre.

Using Win 10, game installs, activates but I cannot move the cursor. Fix?

After Downloading two times, i gave up. it says Download complete
but after when i am going to Install, the message "setup exe. cesse to function.
What is rong, whit this Setup.
I am from Austria, but i am livining in Guinea and the Internet is here verry expensive, and for two Downloads 500 MB (witch dosent work) is to mutch.
I am used tow Download, from Game GAT and GAT a lot but you have to Control the Programms and Games, bevor you give them free for downloading.

There is nothing wrong with the installation files. Thousands of community members have downloaded this game and there have been no comments about this issue. It's most likely an issue with your own computer; possibly a conflict with other software you have running in the background, or the way you have your computer set up? sorry I can't be of more help. Check my review at the top of the comments. I've posted links to a FAQ's thread where you may find answers to the issue you are having. also, try installing the game again, then immediately check your event logs via the event viewer. If there was an issue with the game installing, there should be an error message found in the event logs. If you find it, post it here and I'll try to give you an answer.

Installation:

Secrets of the Past: Mothers Diary downloads to a 245 MB zip file that unzips to three files, (a setup.gcd security wrapper, the set up file and a read me). Those with multiple hard drives are able to save games on any drive they wish. The newly installed game is MB in size. The game installs to the following path by default, but can be changed by the user if you prefer:

Four shortcuts are installed to the desktop. three of which can be safely deleted (Play Online Games, MyPlayCity Games and shortcuts to a free online game which vary each week). Also, if you don't like icons installed to the quick launch task bar, make sure you uncheck the box when the additional tasks window appears (after the Select Start Menu Folder window)

Introduction:

Reveal the terrible mysteries of a haunted house in the game Secrets of the Past: Mother's Diary! The main character receives a strange gift on her eighteenth's birthday – an old diary of her mother. It leads the girl to an abandoned estate full of ghosts. Years ago a young woman was killed there. Help the main character reveal the awful truth and uncover all secrets! The Game:

The graphics were okay. There weren't too many scenes to move through and the story was straight forward. I expected to find a little more in the mystery, but you can easily guess the ending (or what the main character wanted to find out) in the first few scenes of the game. The scenes were just still images with no animations included. All you had was a simple list, and simple items to get. There were plenty of HO scenes and they were at least drawn very nicely.

There weren't many puzzles in the game, and while some were challenging, most were not. One of the most challenging aspects of the game is that there is no walkthrough in the game, so if you get lost, you're kind of lost.

The hint meter is in the form of an an eye, which was a locket that was given to the main character at the beginning of the game. Hint's are fully charged and ready for use when the eye is fully open. It was cute, and pretty creepy, because the eye follows your mouse movements. A hint is not wasted if you use it in an area where you have nothing to do, instead it will tell you that you have nothing to do here. When you are in the correct area, it will show you what you should be doing there.

There were no vocals in the game, and the music wasn't that great. It repeated most of the tracks already played in the game throughout every scene. When one song ended, there was a pause of silence, and shortly after, the next song would play again.

There's not too much of a reason to replay this game. There are no extras and there's nothing you could possibly miss, unless you want to go back and retry some of the challenges that were in the game. Some of the weird things about this game also included the names of the items and the items themselves. Some item names were odd and didn't look a whole lot like what you would expect that item to look like. A lot of the same items appear around, and you pick them up multiple times, even the same item you already picked up in that area.

If you're having problems installing or activating or getting Secrets of the Past: Mothers Diary to work please visit the FAQ's Thread HERE and read through the communities comments because sometimes fixes have already been posted, for example, a common issue seen since the Themida wrapper was introduced three years ago is that some community members installation of the game are blocked by their security because Themida code has been known to hide malware, (usually an error message is flagged for example 'The executable is corrupted' even though in reality it is not); so as a precaution some anti malware programs will block and even delete the suspect installation files even though the files (i.e the setup, read me and setup.gcd files are actually totally free from malware. This issue can be solved either by rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking or a quicker method is to temporarily turn off your security software to allow the installation. You could also try whitelisting the setup.gcd file. In the almost 11 years this game giveaway site has been operating there has 'never' been a game given away that was infected with malware.
