I bought this when it was in early access, but have only just installed it for the first time this morning; it left early access early November 2019.
I'm off to the hospital soon for an appointment and don't know when I'll be back. It depends when the ambulance service can bring me back. If I get back reasonably early (though from past experience its unlikely) I'll put some thoughts down
in the mean time you can see a couple of videos of game play via the Steam page HERE and community reviews of the game HERE.
If you are into platformers you may like this 3D version. It includes mini games as well. The only one I've played so far reminds me vaguely of one of my favorite indie arcade games AaAaA!!!: A Reckless Disregard for Gravity, where you take a dive off a high place and avoid hitting buildings on your way down. You can see what I mean in the second video on the Steam page. I only had time for a few minutes to check the game out quickly and it looks like a slick game.
My main concern is that apart from the play and quit buttons none of the main menu buttons appear to work. At least they don't for me?

Useful Information not related to today's game giveaway:
p.s. I αlpha and βeta tested ''A Reckless Disregard''. While doing so I suggested that they include a level editor with the game. They considered it at the time and send me the editor, but in the end it was never included with the game. If anyone has a copy of ''A Reckless Disregard for Gravity'' and they fancy creating more levels, I'll happily upload a copy to download so that you can create your own levels for the game.
From now until Half-Life : Alyx is released sometime in March, every Half-life game is free to play on Steam HERE. They include:
Half-Life
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Half-Life 2: Episode Two
Half-Life: Opposing Force
Half-Life: Blue Shift
Team Fortress Classic
Don't forget to check out the Epic game store HERE for the latest freebie called Horace, which ends later today. It's a huge platforming adventure which pushes the boundaries of the genre with a profound story of a small robot learning of life, the universe and Douglas Adams. Later today the excellent physics based game 'The Bridge' will be available for free; it's a logic puzzle game that forces the player to reevaluate their preconceptions of physics and perspective. It is Isaac Newton meets M.C. Escher combo where you manipulate gravity to redefine the ceiling as the floor while venturing through impossible architectures.
There are more free games over at Indie Gala HERE.
Finally, check out Delenns thread over in the Game Discussion forums for details of other free games and offers HERE

Whiterabbit-uk, You are off to the hospital and are hoping the ambulance will bring you back. Am truly sorry to hear that, but is it intentional to be so...mysterious?

That's terrible. Am so sorry to hear that. When they say a person was "only" injured, it's hardly ever recognised that the is a litfetime of discomfort and even suffering. Orthopaedic injuries take sometimes years to heal, can only hope in your case that at least a steady if slow improvement. Generally this "is" the case. rgds

Myself am superstitious about talking about matters of health in a casual way

frank,
Hi Frank, it wasn't meant to be casual. I was just trying to explain why there wasn't a review of the game from me today. I didn't want to go into too much detail as its personal to me. I tend to give alot of myself, but I do usually know where to draw the line

We've had some bad games over the weekdays since weekdays games restarted back in Nov 2018, but I wouldn't count this one among them. I'm always disappointed when I'm not able to post a review of a game I actually like due to various circumstances.

My life changed significantly when I was hit by a speeding car (approx 60mph) back in 2005. I was sent home from the A&E department with bruises only. But in actual fact I had four destroyed vertebra that left me 4 inches shorter and a serious head injury that left me brain damaged. I have always taken my health seriously. Before my accident I used to cycle over 30 miles during the week days (to and from work) and at the weekend I used to go cycling with a friend often clocking up over a hundred miles; the aim of which was to keep me healthy.

p.s. I'm not a superstitious person, (touch wood)
