Planet Jump 2
In Brief
A Side Scrolling platformer with 10 levels and some upgrade-ability
The Game
I really wanted to like this game; partly because it is obvious that the developer has gone to a lot of trouble to make each level look totally different from it's predecessor, but also because there is an element of upgrade-ability to the game i.e. you can change the style of the games HUD, customize the look of your avatar/character and upgrade your double jump, time control and double profit. Customizing your avatar and upgrading various aspects of the game will cost you either the gold or the crystals you earn through playing each level.
Sadly the game is far too short for the price being asked for over on Steam though we of course get it for free. All the levels are relatively easy to beat. The only obstacles to stop you are spikes, pits and a moving cube that if touched kills you instantly and takes you back to the main menu. There is no restart directly from the level you died on. You have to re-select from the menu once it's been unlocked by completing it at least once. Then you can replay any unlocked level at your leisure. I handed the game over to my son, who completed all ten levels in less than 10 minutes. When asked his opinion he said Meh! Still for free, and if you are not a platformer aficionado, this may be worth downloading.
Oh yeah! Almost forgot to mention; the approx 3 minute music loop despite being a little repetitive, fits the game and I found I was shaking my head to it a little. :) Also there are two language options English and Russian. Most of the English is correctly spelt, but there was at least one spelling error; i.e. Patten instead of pattern
You can see a video of game play via the Steam store HERE. It was released to Steam April 2019, yet there are no community review of the game to date. The avatar used for the character you control reminds me a little of the one used in one of the hardest platformers I've ever played, namely Super Meat Boy, but there the similarity ends. We get a free standing version courtesy of Falcoware Games.

This might be fun but for 10-30 minutes I feel it's not worth downloading and installing. Would be good if the developer could add more levels or increase the length of the levels. Graphics look fine for this type of game, the variety in the levels is appealing. I found the music very annoying, had to turn it off before the end of the game video on Steam. That's just my taste, others might enjoy it.

Whilst trying out this game I happened to press the "load" button. After which, the screen went grey and I was unable to see the game that was still happening behind the grey screen. As I had not previously saved the game, there doesn't appear to be any way out of this problem. It would have helped if the info screen had explained what these buttons were!

Also, please could developers think of left-handed people when making their games and include the arrow keys for control instead of just the A, D, W keys, which are very awkward to use with the right hand?

Lynn,
Agree with you on the left handed key bindings I always have trouble with games designed for right handed people. If available I always use the arrow keys for movement. Seems sensible to me.

Lynn, Hi Lynn, I didn't see this particular issue, but then I didn't press the load button. When I entered the main menu to select a level I pressed the arrows that are located to the sides of each level selection screen. Of course you can only see levels that you have unlocked.

Lynn, I also agree that arrow keys should be added as additional controls in a game. It's so simple in programming to check for "{a} Or {left}" instead of just "{a}". No reason to not have both sets of keys active when it takes 1 to 5 minutes of added programming time. Then there's no need for an extra option in the menu, or editing a config file. This should be the standard for games that don't have way to edit which keys or controller buttons do which actions. Developers that don't do this are simply saying they don't care enough about their users to even wonder how they would like to play the game.

I prefer using my left hand on the mouse; that leaves my right hand free for so many keys, and it's a quick hop to hit Tab or Esc or Ctrl without taking my hand off the mouse.

"... could developers think of left-handed people when making their games and include the arrow keys for control instead of just the A, D, W keys..."

Microsoft includes a key remapper in their free Powertoys for Win10. You can set it to start with Windows, or just fire it up before playing so the arrow keys for example would work as expected otherwise.
