Definitely one to check out. It's well made and challenging; includes elements of crafting and leveling up plus you gain achievements. This is one game I'll be keeping.
Don't forget that the free Epic games that are still available HERE ends tomorrow afternoon i.e. six different AAA batman games. The next free games are Metro 2033 Redux (one of my favorite post apocalyptic shooters)and Everything.

The Game:
You start the game with an under-powered but up gradable machine gun and a dog companion and are given various missions to accomplish. Missions are presented whenever you move up a rank; for example, your first mission is to kill 100 zombies, when you achieve promotion to the second rank you are given a new mission, destroy oil barrels.
Wander around a randomly generated map killing zombies and collecting the gold and weapons they drop. The weapons you collect can be crafted into better and more powerful weapons, but I've not figured out how to do that yet. You also collect experience points every time you kill a zombie and increase in rank. You need 100 points to improve your first rank. Swarms of zombies attack you almost continually, so you need to keep moving and avoiding getting yourself trapped in various places (where you'll find buildings surrounded on at least three sides with fences that you cannot pass) or dead end streets blocked off by overturned vehicles. All objects in the game such as trees, buildings and rocks can block your passage, so you need to keep alert wherever you are walking. The exploding oil drums that are scattered around the place are a useful resource to use if you position yourself right and shoot at them when a bunch of zombies are passing. Health and other drops that contain extra ammo or 'temporary' weapon upgrades appear at random times. Zombies can also become trapped temporarily if you put some buildings with fences between you and them. This can be a useful tactic to gather groups of zombies together, then blast away at them as they tend to group together after being trapped and then lead them past oil cans. There is an indicator that shows you zombie swarms and when to expect the bosses to appear. After killing 40+ zombies a boss zombie that can jump to where you are located appears. As you'd expect, this zombie is much more difficult to kill. There are also secrets to be found according to the Steam intro, but I've not found one yet.

There are five different chests to collect i.e. treasure, fortified, iron, rare, mystical and clothes chests. Each type of chest has a different set of attributes such as drop chances, and for example, the treasure chest has a 10% chance of including a rare item. Some chest also have a chance to contain mystical items and the clothing chest contains armour. From the in game menus I think this may have been one of those games when playing via an android phone where you also could buy chests using real money. Thankfully that option has been disabled in the PC version. These chests can be bought for various prices using the gold you collect that zombies drop when you kill them. You can also open these using tickets, which I think are awarded after achieving your missions. Achievements can also be earned, but as yet I've not earned any. There are four different areas to explore. The first one you spawn into is the desert level. Others include the forest, winter and spring levels. You have to level up to different ranks to unlock these areas i.e. rank 5 to unlock the forest, rank 10 for the winter level and rank 15 for the spring level. While exploring the desert level, when you reach rank 3 the level will turn to a night time scene. Whether this happens in the other three levels as you progress I cannot say at this time as I'm still a lowly rank 1, but only just? :) As you level up gold bonuses are also added for example leveling up to the winter level your gold is increased by 20% and for the final level to 30% extra gold. Pew Paw is definitely a challenging game; I've been playing the game for over half an hour and am still at rank 1. Edit ..... I finally reached level 2 and am now almost at level 3 after killing the boss zombie.

You can move through the different options when using the Q and E keys. The first button in the shape of a suitcase opens up the chest page where you can buy the various chests already mentioned above the second button takes you to the objects screen where you can repaint them to suit your taste, for example the first object I gained using the first ticket I won was a battery that improves the re-loading time for the chain gun i.e. the RX=1. My first purchase was a rare chest costing 500 gold pieces. I won a Dynamic-R which improves the accuracy of your weapon, however, it was a rank 7 item, so I wasn't able to use it initially. My second purchase an iron chest revealed a rare item called an Oasis X which increased the capacity of my machine gun to 37 bullets, the default number you can load at any one time is 10, so a useful addition; however again, this item was a rank 9 object, so I wasn't able to use it.
All items that are added to your weapon can be coloured to your taste to individualize your weapon. The third button is your weapons button, the fourth the missions and achievements button and the fifth the options button where you can turn off the music, sound effects, toggle the language between English and Russian as well as toggle between full screen and windowed modes. When you die you retain your experience points and rank. The dog that follows you around indicates where the various drops can be found, red for health and orange for ammo. Use these indicators to your advantage, especially when dealing with the boss zombies. The bigger of the two that appear is death and holds a scythe, the smaller of the two is the one you need to hit, he/she acts like a ninja zombie wielding a sword. Once the ninja is dead you get a pop up window with victory and various information such a show much gold you won in that encounter, the experience you gained and the reward for beating the boss, which for my first boss kill was 142 gold, 2 tickets and 50 stars. These can be spend on upgrading equipment or buying chests.

This is a well crafted top down zombie shooter that I definitely recommend, especially if you like this type of shooter. I'm impressed with the look of the game, the ability to craft and upgrade your weapons as well as the challenging game play. The game has been ported over from an android game, but don't let that put you off playing this game. It looks and plays well on a PC
I may add more information to this review as and when I get the time. I've definitely enjoyed playing this game so far. Unfortunately I have important things to sort at the moment so cannot continue playing until later/early evening. I may even buy the game via Steam eventually mainly to help support the developer.
