Mythic Heroes:

In Brief:
Mythic Heroes is another one of those free to play Idle RPG games where you buy in game purchases to progress. You can play without spending money, but progress will be excruciatingly slow and you'll spend most of your time grinding

Todays game is similar to the game we've been given over the last two weeks i.e. Castle Crash in that it's an android/iPhone game, so again I won't be able to post a review of the game myself because I don't own a mobile phone (yet). I did consider installing the android emulator Blue Stacks for the last game, but decided against it as I already have far too much installed on my computer and do not want to add yet more to my back ground processes (I'm using over 10GB of sysRAM before I even start to do anything on my computer due to all the applications I have running in the back ground).

You do get some in app purchases for free with this giveaway, so it may be worth getting if you enjoy idle RPG's. The last one I played was given away on Epic Games over a year ago called Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms (together with $400 worth of in app purchases), but even with so much I soon came up against a wall and to progress further would have been forced to shell out real cash. That said I found just sitting there , watching the action unfold or letting it idle away, rather boring and not really my type of game. It was also given away via the Gamegiveaway back in March 2018, but
only included a few in app purchases compared to the Epic deal. I didn't bother with that one at the time for some reason.

You can see a few videos of game play with tips on how to survive etc HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE. There's also a review of Mythic Heroes HERE
Conclusion:
These idle RPG's can be very addictive and it is easy to spend small amounts to get that particular hero you really want, but it's all a game of chance because you cannot buy heroes directly, You buy the gems that can then be spent on a lottery to get various heroes and upgrades to heroes, but you don't know what the hero will be until you've figuratively spun the wheel.

Whiterabbit-uk,

You'll find regularly updated details of all the reasonable game deals and freebies that I can find HERE.

p.s. sorry for the very late moderation yesterday, I was in bed for most of the day. Still feeling like death warmed up so will be here only occasionally through the day. I posted the above last week when I though it was going to be given away last Monday, but Castle Crash had a second week.

Whiterabbit-uk, While we wait for the giveaways for Saturday and Sunday Capcom is running a special on Arcade Stadium - you can buy the individual games on Steam for 0.99 USD which makes it affordable to get the whole collection. I bought 12 of them for my Nintendo Switch the ones I care about.

Lawrence Carter,

Hi Lawrence,
Have you checked the event viewer to see what messages have been recorded. The easiest way to find the correct message is to try and download the game again, then immediately go to the event viewer and look at the event logs. It will be easier to find this way.

I'm not guaranteeing that you'll find anything useful, but it is worth checking.. Sometimes you can figure out what the issue is from those log entries. The giveaway team do check all downloads with well known anti malware suites and have never given away a game infected with malware since the game giveaway project started Dec 2006.

You could try rebooting your computer in safe mode with networking, or turn off your security temporarily until the game has been downloaded, then reboot as normal, or you could white list the giveaway files with your security. Either one of these should solve the issue.

Finally, check the F.A.Q.s thread over in the forums HERE.

Hope one of the above helps?

Hi Folks, It's unlikely I'll be around Tuesday and possibly Wednesday. My temperature has risen from 100 degrees to 103 degrees Fahrenheit since this morning and I'm feeling likes it's not over yet. Sorry for the inconvenience of not moderating.

I've not felt this bad since my accident back in 2005 where I went into shock a day after my cycling accident where I received no treatment for a broken back (I lost 4'' in height) and suffered a serious head injury that has left me with virtually no pituitary gland, so i have to take three different supplements every day.

I need to make sure I'm fit and health for the 14th July when both my kids are graduating.

Wabbit, you take care. And please tell me you have had your 4th shot... I had mine as soon as it was allowed. Don't worry about us. You just get better.

Thinking and praying for you and the family

delenn13,

Hi Delenn,

No not got the fourth yet; apparently it's been rolled out for a while now and those most at risk are invited first; though we have all taken the lateral flow tests and all were negative for Covid. I will contact our doctor when we are better to see if I qualify for a booster now. It's been almost a year since we got the third injection (August 21) . Both my wife and my daughter are also virtually bed ridden at the moment. We have both our kids graduations next Thursday (one in the morning, then we have to whizz off to my sons that is in the afternoon; thankfully the two university's are only about 45 minutes apart. The only issue we will have is parking as Callum's is just outside the city centre of Manchester and everything is one way streets and parking meters are scarce. It's still going to be a day to remember though.

When I was doing my Masters I worked as a motorcycle courier so that I could pay my lab fees; so, I do know some out of the way back streets that we should find a parking spot in. Things wouldn't be such an issue if Cal's was in the morning as we would have left early to grab the limited parking at the university.

I'm hoping we will all be hunky dory by then? (Em got a first class honours of which we are very proud of her. Callum gets his results tomorrow).

I hope all is well with you?

p.s. did you get anything in the Steam sales that you'd been after for a while? Personally I was a little disappointed in the sale this year. They aren't as good as they used to be when they would have flash sales on some of the big name games, where games already discounted got an even bigger discount for a limited period. I've ended up buying games directly from Ubisoft this year since they have refused to sell the following game on Steam (Steam take 30% of the price whereas Epic games only takes 12%) i.e. Assassins Creed Valhalla Ragnarök Edition plus the season pass. The game is amazing; especially if you are into Viking lore. I'm waiting to see what the latest Humble Choice bundle has to offer before I spend the rest of my Steam wallet. I'm hoping to get Hitman 3, FAR: Changing Tides, Sunless Skies, Divinity Original Sin 2 as well as a few more pinball tables to add to my Zaccaria, Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX3 libraries. :)

Whiterabbit-uk, you just get better! Like Delenn said, don't worry about us. And congratulations to the honoree(s?)

Delilah,

Thanks Delilah appreciated, I'm just about to close down for most of today. These weekday games don't get much response, so moderation isn't as much of an issue as weekends.

Whiterabbit-uk,

Damn dude! You get yourselves better, all of you. As others have said don't worry about us. Tell the kids congrats and they are lucky to have a dad that helped them with the exams.

Yeah, having worked as a courier I get ya per back streets and parking. I still have my signs for the van if things get tough although I haven't used them since I quit that job due to a back injury.

You just get you and your family well; rest, sleep, eat lightly, but eat something.
Hugs to you all.

Whiterabbit-uk,
Your kids are really making me feel old. It seems only yesterday they were knee high to a grasshopper and now they are graduating from University..With hounors no less. Congrats to them both for all the hard work.

Maybe it was the flu. They say that is coming back too with a vengeance. Just take it easy. We are fine here.

I think I spent about 60 bucks. Bought some Popcap games I was missing plus Ila sent me some too. I bought some pinball sets I was missing plus some little games. I did pay over 5 bucks for Slime rancher over at humble and that was with my humble choice discount of 20% but there was a reason for that. But like you said I wasn't impressed with the sales of the bigger games. So i gave up looking at them. But I have noticed ALL the games are more expensive and the sales aren't really sales either. I am talking about all the game sites. You can hardly find a good bargain anywhere.

EWWWW. I just saw what they are offering in the humble Choice. If it were for the constant 20% off and it taking a YEAR to get it back, I would pause this month. But then I would lose my 20% and access to the trove which I like. Man, when they changed things. They really screwed things up.

delenn13,

They make me feel old as well. If we leave the TV on, after about 10 minutes images of the kids from when they were toddler to about 10 years old appear as a slide show. Every time I see them, I think where's the time gone. I was in my early 40's when Cal was born, now I've just got my government retirement pension last month; (got my teachers and National Health Service pensions a year after my accident, when it was obvious I would no longer be able to work)

The only big name game I bought myself was Assassins Creed Valhalla, which had 60% off on Ubisoft's site; (the best I've seen it). I've wanted the game since it's release, and although I've tried to keep my purchases to discounts of 75% or more, the big name games seem to hold their price for much longer than they used to. Thankfully both my kids bought the big name games I wanted for my birthday, though I I told them to hold off buying until the summer sale started, but too be honest, the discounts were pretty dismal to non existent i.e. 20% off the latest iteration of Microsoft Flight Sim, 0% off Elden Ring (my son wanted to get me this one so that we could play as a family cooperatively with Em Cal and myself) and only 20% off God of War. Several years ago you'd have see at least 50% off most big name AAA games after a few months post release when the sales came around, and even more if there was a flash sale on the title. Yes, the last few years have been very disappointing for the bigger titles, but there has been some excellent bargains with some of the decent indie arcade games. :)

My Steam purchases have been mainly indie arcade games as mentioned above (apart from Hitman 3), with a few late additions, mostly with 90% off e.g. Constructor, Degrees of Separation and Downfall and I've also purchased the Zaccaria tables missing from my collection (apart from the Postal Redux table pack).

I almost passed on this months Humble Choice bundle as well, but I had been after the two main titles (Deep Rock Galactic and Necromunda: Hired Gun); so, decided it was just about worth it. I have until September 1st to redeem the discount on the DLC.

Yes, the Choice bundle has gone downhill big time .

Ethan G. Carter,

Hi Ethan, it works for me. Try a different browser. We used to get a lot of issues with a particular browser, that would block the giveaways. You security may also be the cause of the issue?
