I've had a few very similar games to this one in the past, and although they do tend to rely on luck (the draw of cards in the best order) they also make you think about where to go next. Not something I'd want to sit and play for hours, but it's a pleasant way of passing a tea break, or even a coffee break. Nice clear images, easy to learn to play (if not actually to win every time!) and a good way of getting you through the day. Yes, I'd recommend this one to all who enjoy a card game with their cuppa. Several cuppas at times, to be honest . . . I do enjoy a good card game now and again! Thanks to GGAOTD and Whiterabbit, even in his current absence, for so many good time-fillers over the years.

Good game. Also, does anyone know why Google Chrome lately has blocked the last few downloads from GOTD , but Edge doesn't have an a issue? Could it be the Themida wrapper?

Chuck, It often is the Themida wrapper that causes problems, apparently. Some AVs just don't trust it, because it is sometimes used to hide malware. However GGAOTD tests all downloads very thoroughly before letting them out to us, and there has never been a virus or malware in any game from here for at least ten years, so if Edge will let you have the game - use Edge. And enjoy your freebie safely!

Hi all! Quiet here so thought I'd help out some. This was previously given away on Jan 13, 2018 and received an 84% postive vote.

From Whiterabbit-uk's review:
Mystery Solitaire: The Black Raven is a darkly themed solitaire card game well worth downloading, especially if you missed the previous giveaway Mystery Solitaire - Arkham's Spirits. If you get stuck, there are enough cheats such as the Mulligan, use of Jokers and a shuffle to enable you to complete levels. These ‘cheats’ can either be awarded by playing the game or by using points earned during game play to purchase them from the in-game shop. I loved the stories of Edgar Allan Poe (and similar authors such as Franz Kafka) when I was a teenager. The game is well worth a 9 out of 10 for game play IMO. Definitely a keeper for me. :)"

I hope that helps some.
Thanks to the teams involved for this giveaway.
Keep safe all!

Here's a message from The Wrascally Wabbit:

Hi Folks

Message from Moderator/Whiterabbit/Stephen.

Unfortunately my CPU fan gave up on me last night (after nearly 8 years of almost 24 hours a day use), so I cannot access my computer until a replacement fan arrives. I've ordered a new heatsink and fan, but they won't be delivered until Monday 19th October at the earliest.

If anyone reading this could post a quick message in the game section tomorrow, Sunday and Monday to let the community know that there won't be and why there isn't any input from me until Tuesday, it would be appreciated. Moderation will probably still occur, but not as frequently via one of the owners of the site once they know of my absence.

I've had to get one of my kids to post this via one their computers. Unfortunately neither can loan me theirs as they both have a pile of university lectures and assignment's to catch up on.

My other computers are all offline in various states of upgrading/repair, so I'm left computer-less until I receive my new fan (or if I can figure out what needs to be fixed on my old spare computers (I have three old dual cores, but each has issues that I've not been able to solve yet; all three have been laying in one of the attic rooms for several years - yeah I know, I should have attempted to fix at least one by now).

So..... I won't be posting any reviews for this weekends games or today's and Mondays Falcoware games, nor will I be able to moderate unless my kids allow me a short spell on their computers; (both are very protective of their computers, especially my son, who has only recently built his at a cost of over a thousand pounds and won't let anyone near it. Even if I can persuade them, I may not be able to access my admin account as I can't remember my password; it auto logs in on my main computer. ;(

Stay safe everyone.......

See you Tuesday :)
