Actually the picture and text explanation screen IS accessible from the game, I missed that too the first time. (You're right, the screen is very 'busy'!) There's a question mark in the bottom right corner, click that and it pauses the game to show that very screen. :) If you need a break it can also be paused by hitting ESC. Progress is saved between games up to current level, but the level itself must be finished.

It does require a combination of rapid left clicking and mouse movement when enemies appear. There's ways around that if it's causing hand pain. (Can certainly sympathize, I get hand pain from space shooters. Like 'em anyway though :) )Upgrade your weapon (click the ring icon) as soon as possible, enemies are then destroyed with far less clicks. Always choose the lightening card as soon as it's earned, it randomly zaps enemies. If all else fails click the servant icon to buy more servants so you can take more time killing enemies. As long as there's at least one servant the level won't be lost.

I really wanted to get beyond the fourth level in this game. The developers have created a busy game where it is necessary to keep track of many characters at the same time. Failure to provide energy for the creatures makes them disappear. The repeated use of the left click to destroy the monsters is my problem. The game currently requires rapid repeated left clicks while moving the mouse to destroy ghosts. That is difficult for me. A suggestion to the developers would be to include an option to use the keyboard instead of the mouse for firing. Space bar would be the easiest or ENTER perhaps. Without an option to use the keyboard to fire while aiming with the mouse, I have to stop playing here.

On another note, why isn't the screenshot so nicely shown above and linked by Game Seeker not accessible from the Main Menu or within the game itself? I try to fully explore menus and gameboards (unless "killed" quickly and not allowed to do so) before I play a game. Sometimes I visit the developers site or forums. I don't mind games that aren't fully explained - it can be the point of logic games. But since the lovely screenshot exists - why not include access to it with Mad Magic? If it is there, my humble apology.

Pain isn't fun for me, and sadly, I have to give this otherwise appealing game a 6.

It's from the beginning no really exciting game. To much pop ups with explanations. It bores from the beginning. So in a scale from 0-10 I give the program 3 points.

I liked the game play, my hand hurts from clicking my mouse so much. But, boy did I have some fun. I didn't see a way to save your progress, which I would have liked, because I had to stop so I can go to sleep. Perhaps in a future version... I enjoyed this a lot, download it, it is a great wayto pass ome time.Thanks GGOTD!

Same problem here. Installed, activated, but when I tried to run it, nothing happens. I meet all the minimum reqs.
I have Windows ME. What OS do others have, especially those that don't work?

I dont understand why in finishing install and open, it says, 60 minutes of 60 remaining playtime. enjoy unlimited playtime by purchaseing full version. I've gotten other games off this site and had not this problem. really disappointed I left my pc on all day to download a stupid thing, I wont waste my time with only an hour of play on it. what a shame.

That's likely the problem, it does require a 1 GHz processor minimum, as well as 3D and DirectX 8.0 for graphics. Less than a 1 GHz processor may not be enough to even fire it up. Lots of games require this now, the very newest retail games in Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. are requiring minimum 2 GHz.

Actually they spell "magic" with a "c", in the name and throughout the game. As to what you're referring to, it's adults who get all whacked out about that stuff....kids are smarter than those adults give them credit. When controversy started over the 'Harry' books I asked my then 5 and 7 yr. old nieces what they thought Harry and the wizard school were REALLY like. The 7 yr. old gave a most puzzled look while the 5 yr. old giggled and blurted out, "That's silly! It's a story book, it's not real." :)

#38 Game Seeker, so very awesome of you to explain in details, and i am new to this site as well as this type of game, sooooo thank you dearly for this. So, far i've had noooo problems, and graphics are just sooo colorful, i only played thru the 1st level but i can see i will be back soon :) Thanks GGOTD!

It took a couple of tries to figure out the whole point with no instructions and never having played a game similar to this one. From the previous posts it is obvious there are games similar to this one. I, however, have never played any before.

Anyways, once I figured out the point it was quite enjoyable to play until I reached the end and the game crashed. I do not know if I will be able to continue from this point or not as I have not yet relaunched the game.

The game itself is fun but the screen gets very crowded on later levels. If you don't have a decent video card and CPU this game might get incredibly slow and jumpy on your system.

All in all I like the game and I don't know if the software crashing was the game itself or just due to the fact that Windows is garbage and no matter how clean you keep your system you are prone to crash every now and again.

If you are looking for some mindless fun then maybe this is for you. If you are looking for something requiring a little more thought or control on your part then look somewhere else.

To put it simply...

If you like checkers you might like this.
If you like chess you will probably hate this.

I hate these kind of games I don't have patiance for games like this I don't know how anyone can!!! Master Of Defence is so much better now theres a strategy game I don't mind at all.

Very cute fantasy/adventure game! 3D cartoon graphics are detailed and colorful, backgrounds look great too. The storybook complete with turning pages at the beginning of each adventure is a nice touch that adds to the game's atmosphere. Movement of characters is quite realistic, they actually walk instead of just being static and zinging along the screen. They also yawn and stretch when changing from one form to another, for example when a servant changes into a warrior.

You start with one servant, when a thought bubble containing a bottle appears over his head you have to feed him by clicking on the ground in front of him to make a bottle appear. You can summon extra servants by clicking on the uppermost left icon, the one with the picture of a servant. More servants help you collect money faster but also means you have more to feed and they can't work if you don't feed them. Increase quality of food by clicking on the second-to-left icon, quantity of food by clicking on the third, etc. Servants help you get coins by bopping the leprechauns on the head, leprechauns are the ones who stole the gold and other coins. Once bopped the leprechauns give up a coin, which you click on to collect. Watch out for the gnome, who will try to collect coins and gems before you can reach them.

The key icon at the uppermost right shows how much money you need to buy the key to advance to the next level. Total amount of money collected shows above the top middle icon, the only one that's not round. Once it matches the required amount shown by the key icon then you may buy the key to advance to the next level. You don't have to buy the key right away. If preferred you can continue to collect more money and any excess beyond the price of the key will carry over. But the longer you continue beyond reaching the key price, the more enemies appear. When enemies appear keep clicking on them before they reach your servants. Clicking on the edge directly on the front of enemies seems to destroy them faster than clicking on their middle. If successfully destroyed enemies turn into gems that you collect to add to total money amount. If enemies reach your servants they will destroy the servants. If left with no servants you lose the level.

Anyone still having trouble understanding how the game works might want to take a look at this screen shot at the developer's web site. It doesn't explain game play but tells what each screen item means, all in in one picture:

If graphics don't display properly it might mean your drivers need updating, check the manufacturer's site for your graphics card for the latest drivers. You also need DirectX 8.0 or higher. If you don't have that it can be upgraded but you need to know whether or not your graphics card supports DirectX 8.0 or higher, if not sure again check with the manufacturer of your graphics card. Also check the manufacturer's site to see if your card supports 3D animation, if it doesn't you're out of luck. If you don't have a graphics card but your computer uses integrated graphics instead then you may again be out of luck. Integrated graphics have trouble with animated 3D games, if they can run them at all.

Wow. I didn't think it would have been so nice to play. It's a really addicting game, I played through 10+ levels without even realizing it.
I love the cute graphics, and the first level has got a nice tutorial that allows to start playing without having to read boring stuff.
Best game in a while.
Now I'm hoping you'll give Insaniquarium too :P

This is an obvious rip-off of Insaniquarium. Everything is the same: you buy servants, feed them, fight monsters and collect the gold they drop.

Not a very good game. The graphics that did load where great but dead white boxes where there should have been graphics was annoying. The pointer was only visible when the mouse was moving and I spent more time hunting for the tiny thing then playing. It was a relief when the servant starved to death.

Ok Ive tried to run this game but it will not run, I downloaded the zip file, ran the active.exe, then installed it like the readme.txt file said, but it will not launch, any suggestions ?

I have been watching this site for a while and I am happy to see that the quality of games is increasing. This and Master of Defense are both fun games and far better than any of the previous stuff that has been offered.

Thanks Brittny for the help, but I too found it too boring and well guess it just not for me. That is what I thought it was all about and really can't see the point of it. Just not my type of game I guess.
