VERY reminiscent of gorillas, but still a fun way to pass time. I'll take virtual tanks over real ones any day. Thanks GGOTD!

Also if you like this game, (or Worms), you can Google Liero for a free version, more of the same.

This game is ok except for the the fact that things are expensive to buy and you usually end up running out of ammo.

#45 Game Seeker, the features in EULAlyzer that examine and report if a EULA is safe or not, is free, so the essential part of EULAlyzer is free. Some other features of the program, most people will never need anyway, will cost you $19.95. But who needs the extra features? I only recommended the program for it's ability to analyze a EULA, and like I said that part of the program is free and will remain so.

Couldn't be any more different than yesterday's game, shows the site really is trying to cover a wide a range of ages and interests. No, this one is not appropriate for young children but not all PC gamers are young children. Variety is good, today's game is fine for adults and teens.

As for the game, controls are either mouse or keyboard and a little futzy until you get accustomed to how movement and aim works. The graphics look OK but it does resemble the Source Forge project's freeware Scorched3D a little too much, except Scorched 3D has better graphics. The idea is exactly the same though, and there's no getting around the obvious similarity in naming. Those concerned with reinstalls have little reason to fret should they lose today's game for whatever reason. If you like it that much just get Scorched3D, it's free everyday. Same for anyone who gets here after today, there's little reason to buy Scorch an Island when Scorched3D is freeware.

Those accustomed to playing traditional tank games may not like how the tanks in today's game are situated on what looks like islands floating in the sky. Also as someone else mentioned, rather than real-time strategy this one is turn-based. Even in single player mode you play against computer bots and can't fire until it's your turn.

As #37 4eyes says, it's always a good idea to read the EULA but the one in today's game is not unusually long. (BTW, good recommendation on the EULA analyzer but people here may want to know that program is not free. It's a trial version with features disabled, full unlocked version is $19.95.) The only thing unusual in Scorch an Island's EULA is a short notation regarding the online multiplayer mode, and the info there is not unusual for games that have this ability. It won't affect you unless you plan to play this game against other players over the internet. The direct quote from the EULA:

"8. In multiplayer mode the Product may send to other players and to central game servers information required to establish a multiplayer game as well as version information."

Looks good. I'll be reading the EULA very carefully on this one. But for those who don't want to take the time to read every EULA (end user license agreement) you can just download EULAlyzer. It will automatically analyze the EULA for any software and tell you if it's safe or not to install. It is a very good program that will serve you well. Saves A LOT of time using this program. :)

Nice tiny game. Better then Scorched 3D in my opinion. It's more simple to play but not easy to win.

To #9: Just look at "more titles" - it's a some kind of pong!:)

Have you ever watched roadrunner on tv....now that is a dangerous show
This game is cute.....liked it.

This reminds me a game that used to come free with DOS, called “Banana” where a gorilla threw banana’s at another gorilla. This of course is a much better version. There are options to play online and the controls are simple.

The floating land as well as the weird movement does take some getting used to and the perspective is a little weird for me, but I like tank games of any type, so will keep this one. Thank you Avalanche Team and the GGAotD team for another reasonable game. :)

Thanks Sean comment #2 I downloaded Scorched 3D as well, and am very impressed with it. It’s much better than today’s give away, (in my opinion) with sweeter graphics and the perspective is easier to deal with. Also there’s a lot more options to choose from. It is a 10x larger file size though. It’s very impressive for a freeware program; and it looks like the guy is still developing it.

Personally I like the fact that GGOTD has a mix of games suitable for different ages and different temperaments. So lets agree that this game is maybe not ideal for younger children/those of a more peaceful nature but for teens, adults...

Re comment 2 - If you like Scorched3D this do try this having just played both I think this it the better looking and more fun of the two (and the interface is easier).
