For those that may wish to know. We were given this before on Aug 23, 2014.

I am getting several errors when I try to run this program. First server error file or directory not found then Memory access violation and last Game.exe has stopped working with a close program to click on. There were no error when it was installed. Win 7 pro system. Any idea whats causing this?

Download and installed. Got 404 error when opening and then a black/blank screen.

As no-one else has commented on today's game (is there some event on somewhere in the world?! ;) ) …

Today's GGOTD is a HOG which, unusually, has cartoon-style graphics.

The description on its homepage reads:
"Help Kellie Stanford discover the truth about the Hollywood film studio she works for, and the mysterious owner she`s never met! Kellie`s friend Mike has called her, with a dire warning. After escaping from dangerous gangsters, Kellie must use her wits and dexterity to go on the run and reveal the truth about her boss. Go on an exciting journey and uncover family secrets in Kellie Stanford: Turn of Fate."

The General Tips in the walkthrough are:
• From the main menu you can play the game, quit, or adjust options.
• There are options to adjust the music and sound volume and to make the game full screen or windowed.
• Click on the light bulbs around Kellie’s face to get hints.
• You can use TWO hint bulbs to skip a mini-game.
• If you need more hints, go to search mode by clicking on the magnifying glass in the bottom left corner of the screen. You will need to find ten hidden objects in every scene.
• You do not need to finish any of the "search mode" screens to finish the game.
• Things that can be looked into or picked up will sometimes sparkle to tell you where they are.
• Every scene needs to be finished before you can progress to the next, and the game must be played in the order of the guide.
• Click the phone to the right of the Inventory to review the story.

Pretty standard HOG stuff, following the model used in some Wondershare HOGs, where there is no (or limited) exploring, you just progress in a fixed sequence of HOG and mini-game "levels;" however, one review on BigFishGames states that "You can revisit some scenes in exchange for hints."

As usual, there are a few baffling object descriptions and occasional dodgy grammar. Note in particular that a handy is a mobile phone (it's a German slang word).

The reviews I've found mention that the game alternates a LOT between Mike's apartment and Kellie's, so you might find it boring because of that: on the other hand, one reviewer found some of the mini-games surprisingly challenging. So my overall feeling (haven't downloaded it myself yet!) is that it would probably better suit younger people, and the "cutesy" graphics style seems to endorse that view.

Oh, one last thing: the Turn of Fate is an object which you need to discover. I'm guessing that will be at or near the end of the game, which if played continuously seems to take two hours or so.

Today's game in a sense has a female focus that appeals to younger girls and teenage girls.

Kelli has her own share of problems in which she has to disguise herself in order to get out of the house and do what she has to do.

The game starts out in her bedroom in which you must collect the objects to pack to go away. On the second scene you are getting Kelli all beautiful to go out and must use the inventory you have to put the makeup and jewelry on her.

Then something happens where she has to have a disguise and you have to find the elements from her room again and combine the elements to let her get out of the house safely.

I could go on and on in the story line but it's apparent this game was designed for kids in mind. The game itself is not so much difficult, but you have to pay attention to the story line and dialog and see how you can progress in the game.

A note on today's game. This game may not properly appear on some computers. I have no idea when it was released but on my laptop at least it displayed as a squeezed 4x3 picture at 640x480.

I was able to use the Window mode which allowed me to stretch the game to full screen and it was much more enjoyable to play.

And another thing if you run Windows 10 or 11 it may ask you to install a DirectPlay component. I did this myself and did not experience any issues a a result of installing the game.

Finally when you launch this game, it may open up a window that says a page cannot be displayed. Simply click on the X for the window that pops up and the game launches. This game does not open up the browser window on exit like many of the Toomyky games do.

Overall if you're looking for an entry level hidden object game with a cutesy theme to get into the hidden object genre, this might be for you. Otherwise this game is strictly aimed at Children.
