I tried this game and it was ok. (It did freeze up on me once and then just cut off another time...but after that it was fine). If I had really small kids it would have been a definate favorite of theirs. (My kids are teens) My main concern was that when you missed doing an action in the game the girl would say "darn it". I know that is pretty mild language to some, but it really doesnt need to be in a kid's game. That seriously was my only complaint is that "darn it" is said often if you mess up. It is for little kids afterall .

I am trying to get the free trial of the I Love Puppies game at the link provided... http://www.trisynergy.com/prod.... but when I go to that page, there is no download for that game. I would love to try this game since I missed the free givaway. If you can help, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Yes I agree that there are too many complaints but i guess like in all places their are people that just can't stop complaining and jepardizing free things for others that do appreciate the effort and work that goes into having a place like this one.
PLEASE IF THIS IS THE CASE THAT THERE IS NO MORE GAMES (GAOTD) DON'T FORGET ABOUT THOSE THAT DON'T COMPLAIN LIKE ME.
I had problems too but didn't complain, just tried and tried until I was able to get at least the puppy game and played it and it was cute. If I have any dislikes to any I downloads, all I do is uninstall it and wait for something else.

If I sat down and programmed a game, would I want to give it away for free? I think not! It must be tough getting people to give away their software which they worked on so hard. When I see a company giving away free software, I usually go to their site to see what else they have to offer, and yes I have actually bought games that interest me.
On this site when I see a game that I hate , I keep it to myself.
If a see a game with problems, I may post a message here hoping the programmers see my idea and make corrections in their next version.
I never bad mouth something I'm getting for free.

EEK! 2 days and no games! Maybe we are being punished! I'm one of the lucky ones who managed to download and run both the kittens and puppies games. My youngest 3 kids are 7,11 and 12 (boy, girl, girl). I do suppose they will eventually get bored with the games but for now they're loving them! I have to admit I had the hardest time with the I love puppies one, first attempt gave me the corrupted file and I had to download it again then the set up kept saying the game time had already expired but after the 3rd or 4th attempt it worked. Kids are happy, I'm happy...alls good! Oh yeah, for those of you who aren't playing it but are listening to the annoying voice (which does seem to be aimed at kids) because the kids are playing...buy your kids some headphones :)

#85....I was wondering about that, maybe they got fed up with the vocal ones that complain no matter what free game is given. I am suprised there is no announcement on what is going on, but I hope the games return soon.

Some folks need to realize that GAOTD is not a beneficial company. No company gives things away for free, there is allways a reason behind it. The cost may not allways be money, it might consist of things like making a company known. Some developers have build up an epic reputation with the concept here, developers no one would know anything about otherwise.
So ultimately, telling others to stfu when they offer their concerns will lead to the downfall of the Project. Yes I'm sorry, it is not the whiners fault, it is your fault. If a large quantity of sub par quality programs harms the reputation of GAOTD, it leads to a decline in users. A decline in users leads to a decline in interest by the Developers.

So keep that in mind the next time you want to forbid someones opinion.

Now, see...You all were whinning about the games and they haven't been giving us any.............

This one wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the voice talking. Reminds me of fingernails on a blackboard. Uninstalled it and the kittens game for same reason.

Sigh. I tired to download and install this game yesterday but it never worked for me so I missed it. I downloaded the readme and setup file but when I clicked to run the setup file it just hung up and locked my computer every time I tried. My kids were disappointed that it didn't work. Don't know if anyone else had this problem.

My 5 year old loves this game. But I have to insist he wears headphones. The music and "narrator" is so annoying! I'd rather listen to nails on a chalk board then her voice.

No text in the game, and i can not hear speaking since i am deaf. The game is unplayalble.

Playstation 2 and 3 have better support in games for deafs.

It's now 10:45 am. My last message(which was not posted) was at 2 am asking the same question which is: at what time is the new day's giveaway supposed to be posted?

It is like the kitty game, a little too much. It is a game for small children. Even the voice narrating is horrid.

I have been trying to run this program & I keep getting a "Runtime Error--Program...emp\TemporaryDirectory4forILovePuppies.zip\setup.exe This applicationhas requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." I had the same problem with the I Love Kittens. I wanted these 2 programs because my niece loves these kinds of games. So i thought I would put it on my laptop so whenI go to see her she can play them. Has anyone else had this kind of problem. This has been my first time having any problems with software from Game Giveaway of the Day. This is such a disappointment to me.

Like Op 4: Not even worth the time it takes to download and install, in my opinion. In addition, 250 Mb is a lot for a so simple game (when you choose a character like Dalmatian) not all the dogs are dalmatians :-(

I downloaded and installed this game. Like others have stated, I appreciate being able to choose where it is installed to myself. But I was able to sucessfully move it and delete the first copy. The kids here, both boys and girls really enjoyed playing the game for several hours.

It did take a while to download on my dsl and I can appreciate that dial up users might have some difficuty with it since it wasn't that long ago that I was on dial up and almost every big file I downloaded said that it was corrupted. It's not the fault of the publisher or GGOTD. Look at your ISP instead.

Msg From BuBBy: Internet Browsers are generally not good at downloading very large files. Always use a good download manager - check the forums or just google "download manager". Plenty of good free ones to choose from.

I missed the kitties the other day, so was very excited to see this in another version. If you think a 5 year old can play this, you don't have kids. It's harder than you'd think (moves very fast), but the graphics are excellent. The high voice is a tad annoying, maybe next time you can give us different voices on different games.

Looks wonderful BUT..too huge for dialup. I'd get an error in it while downloading & it wouldn't unzip anyway after all that time, so..again, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Hoping for something I can get soon, as I had to do a total disc recovery & there went all my wonderful Alawar games & all the others! NEVER mess with the system services if you aren't POSITIVE you know exactly what you are doing!Or be devastated like me!

well...it insists on loading into c-drive , which i reserve for other things...its has been disposed of. thanks anywho.....

Msg From BuBBy: You can install to C: then move it to D: afterwards and have it still work - or if you don't have the free space on C: to begin with - I have written a fix in the forums that allows you to install to a different location as part of the setup.

I will be attempting to restart my intention of posting my reviews over in the forums, with perhaps just the conclusions written here in the comments section. As by definition, a comment is a statement of fact, an observation or an opinion, and not a whole review that I have endeavored to emulate over this past year. :) I'll make sure there's a link to the post I make though so that those that do read them can find them easily.

This is a great game for young players. If you're looking for something to keep young ones entertained, this is it.

i wouldnt have given this game a thumbs down if it HAD given me the choice of where to install.
I did move the game elsewhere after the install, but that is no excuse.

The kitty game made me sick, but i like doggies..

Anyone can download but I don't know many "kiddies" that have a credit card to purchased other games of this type from the supplier.

to #54 as said before the program can be moved easily once installed in C:\program files 'to D:\ for me), just a CTRL X CTRL V and then you just have to change the folder in your desktop icon (right click + properties)

My nieces love it, And I agree with the previous mentions that the Dog/Cat thing matters to little kids (My nieces like dogs more than cats, thus would have more fun with this game (for some one older they wouldn't care whether it was a cat, dog, or donkeys named Louis))

Also, to those not liking it going directly to the C drive, once installed, go through My Computer into the C Drive, go into Program Files, take out the games directory, and move it to the drive of your choice, then set up a shortcup on the desktop (Like what installers do, but manually)that connects to the game in the new directory.
(I hope I didn't make that too unclear...)

My two boys, age 7 and 9, love the cats version. That graphics are quite good, and there are a large variety of games, at different skill levels. I had no problem downloading or installing it. This one promises to be just as good.

I downloaded the kitten game. It's a nice game for children. I started to download this until I read about the forced install to the C:\programs folder. I agree with other posts here. C:\programs folder is for programs. I have a game folder and a GGAOTD folder for my games. I can accept a lot of things in downloads. I just feel that the destination folder should be left up to the user. Also the user should have the oppurtunity to opt out of any additional installations. I don't need any screensaver managers, browser toolbars, or dektop icons. Please ask before you install. I'm done with my rant today. I greatly appreciate GGAOTD. This is a site I visit on a daily basis. thank you also to the developer Tri Synergy.

Thank you for the counter-part to 'I Love Kittens' ... now I have the boys covered! The download did take about 40 minutes, setup was simple and the play modes are just like Kittens, but with a puppy, Worked just fine on my Windows XP System. This game will not be for everyone (4-9 years old), but for me it is a keeper = thank you !

My 10 year old was estatic to see this offering. She loved the Kitties game and I am sure will love this one as well. There are so many great downloads here, I love checking in every day.

I feel however that so many of the people here are too negative. Don't like it move on. Have a technical problem then post away so others can help or avoid the problem. I don't always care for yet another match 3 or pacman game, but my children might as well as others out there. I think the site is doing very well at making sure they cover ALL age groups and ALL likes with their giveaways.

I couldn't dl the Kittens the previous due to error message after doing my best efforts for trying 6 times. I know we should post help in the forum. However for 7 hours (I keep coming back and check) no one even help the poor 'DrHouse' which have the same problem as I do. So I hope to 'alert' GOTD expert team to help out. I don't want to miss this game too. Mine is Win XP Home, using Winzip for dl files. Tks alot pal. :(

Since this game is just a copy of a game that froze my computer when I tried to install it, I won't bother downloading it. No review today.
