Have had the Steam version for a while!

Easy install and registration (after following the instructions about temp turning off my antivirus first.) No problems at all, Win 7 Pro 64bit. No time to actually play it right now, but the graphics look beautiful! Thank you to GAOTD and Toomky.

My Daughter is off to university tomorrow morning. We have to leave early, so I will not have time to post a review of Sundays game and moderation will not be available until very late afternoon or early evening.

Bombs w/ Windows 10 x64 Pro. Tries to run, gives black screen, ends w/ tiny box on desktop saying Exception bla bla. Tried as Win 8. Same. Later for this. Thanks tho,

Nice game. No time limit for any level, relaxed mode. However, the town building has a somewhat incomprehensible goal. Even less clear is the meaning of dressing the Egyptian queen and the plastic surgery to change the shape of her eyes, mouth, and so on.

I downloaded and installed with no problem. Played a few levels. Seems interesting and very different, which is nice. Thanks for all the giveaways!

Nice reviews & comments. Wasn't going for it until the in depth review pics drew me.
Usually a fan of these but gets tiring with repetitions, but the mix offered is worth a shot just to see a touch of variety and how higher levels play. I mean there MUST be more to this, right!? Anyway thanks for game.

i have a question about a previous game gourmania 3 i have completed the zoo the creast has all of the animals but i do not know what to do to move on or to come to some conclusion please advise i have tried multiple google searches to no avail thanks

Quite a nice combination of puzzler and basic town building. The graphics are nicely done and it looks like there's a decent scope for expansion to keep interest up during short bouts of play. For free? Definitely worth picking up for a try.

Downloaded and installed no problem. It installs and creates a desktop icon only for itself.

The game has a good tutorial - a little too much hand-holding, but it shows you what to do.

The game is making matches of 6 or more shapes of the same colour. Basically you click on a shape and then click on where to place it as long as there's a clear path to that place to make a match of 6 or to build up to a match of 6. The game will either ask you to make enough matches to for example use up 20 red balls - or to make a match of 7 balls. To make a match of 7 you need to create a group of 4 balls and a group of 2 or more balls one square away from it so that you can place a ball in the middle to join them thereby getting a group of 7 (because a group of 6 is automatically eliminated).

The story - not for me - the old Egypt theme has been done to death.

The mini games were basic - for example a match 2 (not even match 3) or a small memory game.

Building up the city - it's not very colourful / exciting... You also dress up your character.

I found the core game play to be original and interesting and I could see it would become tricky later on to make your matches and not let the board fill up. But it also quickly gets boring as you need to keep making matches endlessly to get the right colours and quantities.

In general I found it to be a high quality game that worked well - would be ideal for when you just want some light entertainment.

It does open the ToomkyGames website when you exit - it doesn't seem to do any more damage than just that. :-)

The Game:

Hexus is a combination of a color matching game with an adventure mode that comprises an interesting city building game using the skills of the architect Anhotep. The city building mode is accomplished by earning gold and silver coins by completing various tasks i.e. colour matching balls via chains and collapse modes. This mode also includes the ability to change the appearance of your character via Tanak the Stylist.

The color matching game includes two modes a line and collapse mode. The line game involves creating chains of the same colored balls, for example the first table requires you to collect a total of 12 red balls and 15 green, blue and yellow balls by selecting chains of at least six of the same colour. To do this you will need to figure out how to create chains of six balls of the same colour by moving a same coloured ball to link to either a group of five more balls of the same colour or by connecting seperate chains of the same colour to create a six chain line. Powerups are included to help you with this task. As you progress you’ll fiond the hex grid becomes harder due to some balls being locked initially. There is a tutorial (that can be cancelled if you don't think you'll require it) that will walk you through the process if you require. It's not as simple of your usual match three game in that to make the required six matches you have to move the same coloured balls from different areas of the table via unoccupied spaces. The tutorial explains this adequately. On completion of a task you are awarded coins.

The collapse mode involves finding groups of three or more balls of the same colour and clicking on them to remove them from the table, the more balls you remove in one go the more gold you earn. There are also some mini games included such as Hidden Objects and Mahjong tables.

Conclusion:

I found this an interesting combination of city building and matching colors puzzles. I originally purchased it via Steam where it has received mostly positive comments and reviews, which you can see HERE. If you enjoy playing puzzle games and city building games, this is a must have game. I’d score this an 8 out of 10 for game play and the variety of modes and mini games, all of which are of a high quality. The city building is particularily good compared to many other games of this type that include puzzles, mini games and usually a very basic city building mode. Hexus’s city building has a lot more depth than all of the puzzle games that have included this mode at least all of those I know of. I love AAA city building games such as Cities: Skylines, the brilliant Kenshi ( bought into this when it was pre alpha and got the game for only a few dollars, now its almost $30) and the Anno and Tropico franchise. Hexus does not compare to those, but it has made a decent effort in emulating them.. Thank you to TooMky Games for giving this away minus the extra’s. :)

Unable to install. I get a message that the setup files are corrupted and need to obtain a new copy. The same thing happens when I download and try to install again. Hope they get this fixed.
