I purchased Fishdom 2 Premium Edition long ago, although what I really wanted is the Collectors Edition, but Playrix plays word games with its marketing. In any case I enjoy playing the Premium Edition and thought I would like this "Frosty Splash" Edition, but as it turns out now so much. I played it until I earned the Gold Cup and realized that there really aren't any new tanks to buy. What I mean is the tank you are offered is that same tank as you just got done playing. There are other reasons that I will keep to myself, but overall I didn't and don't enjoy it anywhere near as my as the Premium Edition. Cute Yes, just not cute enough for me to enjoy it.

Hi,
Saw it was Fishdom and downloaded it immediately. I think I had it though, since it opened to an existing game.
Exhausted from the Holidays, so not sure, lol! Love these games and plays with ease as most of Fishdom does.
I have 8.1 with a terabyte, but caution to others that in the past with older computer they do take a lot of
space, but the graphics are great!!
Thank you, White Rabiit, and hope you and yours as well as most of the regular game of the days have wonderful
Holiday and Happy almost New Year!

This is a great game, and I have had it since the last give-away. The only thing I think would improve it would be to have a choice of backgrounds. You can have as many tanks as you wish, but they all start with the same backdrop. Being able to choose between a couple of tanks would be a nice change.

Swamp Thing, tell us how you really feel. ;) LOL I love this game, too (but not as much as ST).

Love the Fishdom games, including this one. If you have Fishdom: Seasons Under the Sea, you already have everything in Frosty Splash (along with everything in Spooky Splash [Halloween] and everything in Harvest Splash [Thanksgiving]).
If not, and you're a Fishdom fan, get it now!
I love all the different decorations there are for the different seasons/holidays.
Thanks, Playrix, GGOTD, and Whiterabbit (not necessarily in that order...)

I am very happy to have another Fishdom game. I missed this when it was offered before, but I do have the Fishdom H20 which I have enjoyed a lot. The colors and the graphics are outstanding. I like being able to move things around as well as being able to choose what you put in your aquarium. I would also like to see some more Fishdom HOG games, like the H20. The match 3 games are great, and addictive as well, but it's nice to have a variety of play.
So sorry, Stephen, that you are still in pain. I do hope that things will get better for you soon!

@Sandra regarding SimCity2000SE. First you need an origin account and the origin gamebrowser (both can be done on origin.com) then get the game following the free games tab in the gamebrowser it will be in the first option (on our expense" or something, have the Dutch language myself so not sure what it says in Enlish, anyway the first option in the free games tab) and when installed start it up through the game browser in the my games tab and it should run. without the origin software it won't run. If it still doesn't run with the origin software go where you have it installed (program files-->origin games) then open Simcity2000SE folder--->Game---->Game---->DOSbox and find dosbox.exe . rightclick, choose properties, go to compatibility tab and check the "always run as administrator" option. It should work now

Hi Stephen,
I still have this game from the previous time it was given away, and enjoy playing it from time to time. In the review above, you reference different tanks which actually are from one of the other Fishdom games. In Frosty Splash, there is one tank which we can purchase repeatedly once we have acquired the gold cup (if I remember correctly -- there it a point somewhere when the tank purchase option is unlocked). I have therefore found it a bit boring to keep decorating the same tank over and over. I would prefer to have at least one other holiday-themed tank to work with. I also feel like the tank already has quite a bit of decoration in the background, compared with tanks in some games of this series. The original (first) Fishdom had very muted and minimal background. I like having more space for the items which I can buy and place where I want around the tank. Then we have the "comfort" items (especially the filter and air pumps) which crowd the tank even further. Also, in order to earn the gold cup, I have to buy lots of decorations and end up with a tank that is so crowded it is hard to enjoy it. There are some very cute items, but wouldn't it be fun to have some garlands and light strings to hang around the edges of our tank or between buildings or trees?
I still like this game and give it thumbs up, Thank you to Playriz, GGOTD and you Stephen for bringing us this holiday gift. Greetings to everyone!

I am nothing but a computer UNnerd, but that doesn't make SENSE to me SINCE all the games are confined to JUST ONE FOLDER. What's keeping a dastardly desperado from simply COPYING the JUST ONE FOLDER and PASTING it anywhere he wants to?

Keeping up with the Fishdom-ians:
We have had "Fishdom", "Fishdom 2", "Fishdom H2O" (a hidden object game), and two of the three holiday-themed "Splash" games ("Spooky" and "Frosty", but not "Harvest" -- that last was offered as a gift if you signed up for the Playrix e-newsletter).
Still out there: "Fishdom 3", "Aquascapes" (follow-up hidden object game), and the very latest, released earlier this year, "Fishdom -- Depths of Time".
("Seasons under the Sea" is a re-packaging of the three holiday games.)
That there are nine games in the series testifies to the appeal of the game. Would have been happy to see one of the newer releases, but plenty of visitors here will be downloading this one and finding themselves newly immersed in Fishdom fandom.

First, thanks for all the wonderful downloads and your commitment; I don't know how you manage to do all you do with all the health issues you have. :( So thanks! :) Second (and this is completely OT) - do you happen to know where I can download Snowy's Lunch Rush? You had it as a free game years ago, and that computer long ago bit the dust. I think you had it again more recently, but I missed it. I've seen it listed as a free download on other sites, but to be completely candid, this is the only site I trust for free games. Thanks for your help!

I have several Fishdoms and they are my favorites! My recommendations for Playrix: I build up many more points than I can ever spend on my tanks. Either make the items more expensive or make the aquariums scroll sideways so we can add more items without them overlapping and having the tank look over-crowded. Or give me something else to spend my points on. Maybe, like my real tanks, I should need to feed the fish regularly and be able to buy fish food of different kinds (frozen worms, pellets, flakes, etc.). This would add a bit of time-management to the game, but wouldn't be too much (not a fan of TM). As for the gameplay, I like that the game becomes more difficult as the levels increase, maybe instead of just matching 3, after a while make it harder by requiring a certain number of matches of more than 3. Maybe allow me to buy things like dynamite to help with upper levels. Not really sure how to make it a bit harder, but I really wish I could do more with my points/tanks! THANKS Whiterabbit, Playrix, and GGOTD! For those not sure about downloading this..... DO IT! Hope everyone has a wonderful 2015.

I had this game ages ago on a previous computer, and had reached level 369 before I lost it when the computer expired. I was ever so pleased to get it again for my current machine - and now that it's a copy-and-pasteable version, I may well pass my previous record! (352 at the last count.)
Just one little niggle - two days ago, for the first time, I played the game on Christmas Day. And everyone who gets it today is going to have to wait nearly a year to see the Christmas present that Fishdom gives you, the first time you play on that day.
But do download it anyway - it's great fun, starts easy and gets harder (MUCH harder - but you can always start again with a new aquarium) and you do not have to be a fish nut to enjoy it. It's bright, colourful and an excellent way of passing an idle hour or several.
This is also my favourite of the Fishdom varieties I've tried, and I think I now have four or five. This is the one I keep on going back to. Thank you, GGAOTD and WhiteChristmas - sorry, I mean Whiterabbit! Hope you had a good one.

Fishdom! I love these games!
First, installed fine on Win7 Home Premium service pack whotheheckknowsbynow.
Second, Playrix--'nuff said. Excellent graphics, speedy play, great ambiance, all you would expect from them. It's a good quality game.
The Fishdom games are great, they really are, and they improve them with each new one they put out. I can usually knock these out fairly fast with some levels being trickier than normal. They are easy enough for most to get them and some levels challenging enough for those of us that do like them to have to replay a few. This is always good! You also don't have to deal with the minigames, finding hideen objects, whatever. That I adore as I hate those blasted things!
There are really only a few downsides to these games. This one it's the music. I don't like it. But that's just because it's not as soothing as most of them due to the Xmas influence. I just turn it down and move on. The other one I always see is that after you play a bit and add aquariums to keep going, the patterns to the puzzles repeat enough that you know just what to do to knock it out quickly, which doesn't make it very challenging.
As a however to up comments above, I'll also add that with each game they put out, they improve these. The latest version of Fishdom is very challenging, tricky and hard to get through. So, though there are problems with this one, there isn't with some of the newer versions. Which means they listen to us! :D That's great!
All in all, this is a great game that you can lose hours playing and having fun with. Even once this season ends, you'll still enjoy it, like I do with the Hallowe'en one.
A huge thumbs up from me!

I guess not as it did not appear whereas my last did. I was asking you how do you make SimCity 2000 work as it does not even work on my old XP PC. Do I need some patches, or some special DOS?
I downloaded this game, Fishdom Frostysplash, for my kid as she likes that type of game (puzzle and growing your own fish). The colors are nice, lovely gameplay easy and not stressful. It's difficult to think of something to improve this game. Maybe next time do the contrary, make a game on a fishing farm and reward with some puzzles and finding objects?...
Anyway, regards. Best wishes and happy new year with all my wishes.

Fishdom Frosty Splash:
Installation:
Fishdom: Frosty Splash downloads to a 49.1MB zip file (the same as Jan 2014) that unpacks to a read me and a wrapped setup activation file (the orange colored file with the key symbol), plus there's a setup file with security (setup.gcd) that's protected from being hacked. This file may case some security software to alert the user to a possible malware attack, but it will be a false positive. The game giveaway team check all game giveaways for malware using several well known anti -malware suites. There has never been a game giveaway infected with malware since the project started back in Dec 2006. The installed game is 58.2MB in size, same as last time this was given away, indicating the game is the same version.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Playrix Entertainment\Fishdom - Frosty Splash\Fishdom.exe
If you have a 32 bit system ignore the (x86) in the path above.
A desktop shortcut is installed as is a start menu/programs shortcut (which can be found in the Playrix folder (Playrix Entertainment\Fishdom - Frosty Splash); you’ll also find an uninstaller in the Start menu/programs list. The game will automatically start once the installation wizard is complete unless you uncheck the check box at the end of the wizard. Once installed you can delete the giveaway setup files. There are two shortcuts installed to the desktop, the game shortcut and a shortcut to Plarix's web site (which you can delete if you don't intend visiting their site) . You’ll also find shortcuts for the game and an uninstaller in the Start menu/Programs list.
I've only tested the game on Win 7 and Win 8.1 this time around, but previously it did work on Vista and Win XP so if you have either of those systems it should work. My other operating systems are not available at this time due to updating my older computers. According to the developer the game should also work with XP and Vista, but no mention of Win 8 has been made yet; but, as mentioned above, it works fine on win 8.1.

Developers Introduction:
Reference accessed HERE Jan 18th 2014
The Game:
Today’s game giveaway is similar to previous fishdom games, but with new match three boards and a festive snowy theme plus another fish tank to build. If you liked Fishdom you will almost certainly love this one as well.
The options menu enables you to change from full screen (default) to windowed mode. You can also toggle tips and hints , a custom cursor and a relaxed game mode as well as the usual music and sound effects sliders. You can choose the relaxed game mode when you first start the game up either via the options menu or when the game starts up. (See images I’ve posted below via the images link)
It’s a pleasant match three game with an upgradable screensaver that you transform from an empty fish tank to a fully stocked aquarium while playing the game. Gameplay is as you’d expect for a match three; basically you have to create matches of three or more to destroy tiles. The aim is to clear the gold coloured tiles which are placed under the symbols. When you create matches on these gold coloured tiles they are removed. Creating matches of five or six add explosives, rockets and bombs to the playing field. To activate these either create a match three that moves one of these power ups or double click on them to make them explode. You score points for every tile you remove. As you progress through the levels they get progressively harder, with different layouts and tiles that required unlocking or double matching to remove the gold tiles. I was only able to progress to about level 8 while checking this game as all I had was an hour demo. Taking screen captures (nearly 100) of the tutorial and various items that you can buy in the shop took up a large part of my hour. So I can’t say if there are any more surprises. At the end of a level once all the gold coloured tiles are removed you are awarded money based on how many points you scored, the time it took to complete the level and the number of gold tiles you removed. This can then be spent on fish and other objects for your fish tank screensaver.
The screen saver tank starts as an empty tank. You can purchase fish for it via the shop , where you’ll find three tabs labelled Fish, Beauty and Comfort. For example clicking on the beauty tab you’ll find various plants, animals and other objects to make your tank look like a well stocked aquarium. All of the comfort items which include filters, feeders and air supplies can be upgraded; though each successive upgrade costs a lot more to purchase. There are several tropical fish you can choose from, each with its own characteristics, for example the Emperor Angel fish needs a varied diet in order to preserve their distinctive coloration, whereas Royal Gramma fish though shy will aggressively defend their territory in the tank. To create a good looking tank there are loads of items you can buy from various plant species such as Acetabularia Calyculus, Microsorium, and Myriophyllum Aquaticum amongst several others species, some sea organisms such as the Rapa Whelk and Starfish, to sunken ships, lamps, lighthouses, several christmas themed objects (such as a Christmas fish that has a santa hat on) and the traditional treasure chest amongst other items. All items purchased for the tank can be sold back to the shop so that you can choose other items. This makes for an excellent fish screensaver that is very much configurable to your tastes. You can also take photographs of your tank at any time and use these as wallpapers for your desktop; (great for a childs computer). To unlock new tanks you have to satisfy all of the criteria which can be found at the top right of the screensaver, that is you have to fill your tank with enough fish and create a beautiful and comfortable environment. Purchasing fish or other items from the shop will help to achieve these criteria. you can see what effect purchasing an item or fish makes to the indicator before you purchase it as the indicator bar moves to a new position when you hover your mouse over a particular object. when all three bars are at 100% you will be awarded a bronze cup. You can either unlock a new tank or go for a silver cup in the same tank. Opting for the silver cup reduces the bars to almost zero. to attain a gold cup you must carry out the process three times.
The screensaver is activated by ticking the checkbox via the main menu which also gives you access to the options menu and the start button. There are three different tank settings called Pirate Treasure, Coral Reef and Lost Atlantis, though the second and third tanks are locked at the beginning of the game. The options menu enables you to adjust the music and sound effects as well as toggle on or off full screen mode, a custom cursor, in game tips and hints.
Clicking on a fish will cause a reaction

You can see lots of Fishdom: Frosty Splash images, that includes many of the hints and tips that pop up during the game (assuming you have them activated via the options menu – they are activated by default). Just click HERE to see them. You can look at all the images as thumbnails by clicking on the grid button to the bottom right above the filmstrip. There’s a slider to increase or decrease the size of the thumbnails. I reduced the quality of the posted images a little too much, but you can also see them much better via the slideshow.
If you want a picture of your aquarium as a wallpaper, you can take a screen capture via the game to use as your wallpaper

You’ll find videos of game play HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE
and HERE.
Conclusion:
This match three game play is really just standard fare compared to other match threes IMO; I’ve played many of this genre that have found much better game play; however what I really enjoyed about this game was earning money to upgrade the screensaver. I love fish screensavers and although it’s not the best fish screensaver I’ve seen (for example you can get something similar from other match three games such as Big Kahuna Reef and one of the Atlantis games), it does have loads of items that you can add to one of three tanks, though you need to earn cash by completing levels, and only one of the tanks is available at the start of the game. One of it’s other positives is that it has a relaxed and timed mode which should cater for most community members tastes. :)
I’d give this game 7 out of 10 for family fun and the addition of a configurable fish screensaver.
Thank you to Playrix and the game giveaway team for providing this game for free.
Scoring
Gameplay – 8
Graphics – 8
Audio – 7
Re-playability – 7.5
Originality – 7
Total = 7.5
Suggestions:
The addition of the screensaver adds to the average game play, however I’d try and improve the game play by adding some mini games and more power ups to the game. You could also make the power ups upgradeable so that they become more powerful. These upgrades could be paid from some of the money earned to purchase items for the screensaver. I’d also add more species of plant life and enable those to be upgraded as well. Each upgrade could increase the size and shape of the plant or animal that you purchase for the tank. Also add more fish species and include several patterns and fish sizes for each fish spercies so that they don't look exactly the same. I'd also improve the realism of the tank, flora and fauna.
Problems:
If you have any problems installing or getting to work today's game please go HERE for help. I've posted all of the common problems and solutions in a FAQ thread, which you can find in the sticky section of the forums by following the above link.
If you are posting late in the day I would also suggest posting in the main giveaway forums, in the game discussion section because I cannot moderate 24hrs a day over the weekend. I've created a thread HERE for that purpose. If you've installed the game but it won’t work for some reason, it should still be registered, so someone may be able to help at another time. Unfortunately if your problem is actually installing it then once the giveaway period is over there’s nothing that can be done until the game is given away again (though that isn't guaranteed). Sometimes you can still register the game after the giveaway has ended so long as you managed to start the download before the giveaway ends. I've tested this and sometimes the grace period lasts for up to 2 hours, but more often than not 1 hour is the norm.
It’s always worth checking out the free games sites because sometimes the games we get here are also available for free from them. MyPlayCity (MPC) has the most with over 1000 games to choose from. This particular game is available from three of the four that i usually quote (i.e. MyPlayCity, Gametop and FreeGamePick).
If you do download any other games from MPC or the other free game sites 'do' watch out for toolbars etc. Make sure you un-check the check-boxes during installation, and, in the case of MyPlayCity, every time you boot the game up, (this may have changed now as MPC tend to change the format frequently. .. I've posted links to all of the common free game sites below in the games, games games section. :)

The Christmas sale is on over on Steam till the 2nd January, if you are willing to check the site att least once every 12 hours you will find some fantastic deals. I won't list any as some of the prices change from day to day depending on whether games have been chosen by the community, opr whjether the game is in the 48 hr or 12 hour sales. These are games that are already on sale, but extra is taken off. you'll find some very attractive offers here as well as some new games with a decent percentage off.
You can find a full list HERE.
You'll also find some excellent deals over on the following Game sites.

To be honest there are too many game deals around too list them all. Just visit the sites I recommend above and I'm sure you'll find something that suits you for a very decent price. If like me you prefer Steamworks games, many of the above sites also sell steamwork games.
If that's not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals such as the Indie Game bundles (there's over 20 of them - If you purchased all of them you'd be paying around $80 for around a thousand dollars worth of games); or check out the four day sales at IndieGameStand. I've updated the Indie Game bundle thread to include all the latest bundles. you'll find that thread HERE.
The latest IndieGameStand game is Fake Colors a 3D, cube rolling, puzzle game in which the player must move three coloured blocks to their corresponding target squares. If you pay over the average, which at the time of writing was $1.92 You get the sound track as well. You can pay as little as $1 for the game if you wish. If the game is Greenlit you'll get a Steam key, plus you can download both games DRM free as well. This bundle ends around 5am (GMT) Monday 29th Dec.
The latest Daily Indie game is Canyon Capers a retro style arcade platformer. You can get two keys if you pay more than the average of $1.16 (at the time of writing); one key to share with a friend or family member perhaps?. You'll find that deal HERE. They also have three bundles of several games that'll cost you less than $1.50 HERE each. The single game deal ends Midnight Sun 28th Dec.
Most of the bundles retail for around $5 give or take a few dollars (apart from the Daily Indie bundles that only cost $1.49 for six games), but you can pay as little as a dollar for some.
The free game from Origin remains the same as last week, i.e. Sim City 2000 special Edition, plus you can get 30% oiff the recently released Dragonage: Inquisition (I purchased it the other day and love itAlso you can get the standard version of Battlefield 3 for only £0.74 pence (approx $1). This is a time limited offer that ends at 4pm GMT today (I think).

Don't forget you can get a whole raft of match three games from places like (56), (150), , and (50)
All these sites offer commercial games by paying the developers a retainer for being able to give them away. They are not technically free, but you can play them for an unlimited amount of time and they are available from these sites 24/7. The only drawback apart from the risk of installing toolbars is that your browser will open to the home page of either site depending which you got it from.
There are some decent match three’s versions, of which are really good examples of the match three genre; including previous giveaways such as Inca Ball, Around the world in 80 Days, Flower Story, Halloween Night: Pumpkin Match, Story of Fairy Place, The Rise of Atlantis, The Treasures of Montezuma, Trio: The Great Settlement, and Atlantis Quest. Last weeks is also available from Gametop, though it’s called Persian Puzzle. You can also get one of its counterparts that’s usually called ,, though that has also had a name change to Rome Puzzle.
Do be aware that these sites may add toolbars and home page hijacks to your web browser, but these can be avoided by un-checking the appropriate boxes during installation. Also when you close any of their games down, your browser is opened and directed to the sites home page. This is innocuous so don’t worry. Closing the page ends any connection and nothing is downloaded.
