A very late set of comments, mostly because I haven't had much time to play it since downloading it.
Installed and ran with no issues -- Win 8.1, 64-bit.
The game itself -- there's quite a lot that's non-obvious. The disguise stuff I figured out after a little while, and the gem collecting thing (the box on the left of the screen) I've used and still don't know what it's for or how it relates to everything else.
Main issue: there's one mini-game (involves moving coloured screws around on the back of a carriage) that couldn't be completed, because I couldn't drag a screw into the bottom left location. Tried over and again, nothing. Effectively I solved the puzzle -- everything else was where it should be -- but was forced to skip to move on. Frustrating.

Lokey,
When I want to quit and come back, I just exit the game. When I come back I choose my same character and the game picks up where it left off.

After a million of crashes the game deleted my profile now three times. I am killing the game now myself and uninstall it. What a waste of time. Never before having such problems with Playrix.

This worked on initial install, got as far as the decoder and it crashed, have been unable to get it to even start since then. Would really like to try the game, but frustrating when in crashes out incessantly.
Was unable to complete the decode, one image failed to function then was a bit draggy and at the point of crash had the decoded message stuck in screen without ability to remove it or work around it.
Running on a win 7-64 bit home premium with lots of ram.
I'm going to look around and see if I can find another copy to try. I like this type of game so look forward to them whenever they are offered.

Nice game - but crashes all 5 minutes under Win 7 64bit. Nevertheless, one can continue without too much losses after restarting the game.
But then - nearly towards the end somewhere in the burning church tower, game crashes and says: "Your file is corrupted and needs to be deleted."
Then you have to commence from the early beginning - very sad :°-C

Finished and have to say somewhat disappointed. The mini-games were often (not always) more tedious than challenging, and with a number of story threads going (all interesting) at the end you say "HUH???" "That's IT?" Lots of threads unresolved. Someone further down I see commented on this as well...as if they ran out of time making the game and said let's cut it short.
Graphics, sound, etc. very good (except for one video glitch mentioned in my earlier post) and personally I'd rather have a so-so adventure like this to another time management or match 3 anyday .

A few days into this game, I'm stuck at exactly the same point as Erika. It looks as though you can't solve the puzzle without finding the hint but I can't find the hint! Any pointers please?

Well, some complaints, one a single specific issue and one more general nitpick. Specific: after playing with no problems for quite a while, when I came to the puzzle with the carriage (on its way to the stables), the screen was suddenly like in 3D. Restarted the game just in case, but same issue. Yet when I skipped the puzzle (HATE doing that), all was back to normal, so it wasn't my machine.
More general complaint: so far (and I'm quite a way in) the puzzles were either quite easy or very tedious, requiring a lot of moving without a lot of strategic thought. Not all by any means, and still enjoying the game a lot! Do kind of miss the normal type of HOG that these often have; the ones where you just choose the list items from a bunch of similar items doesn't do it for me.
The graphics are great (except for that weird carriage issue) and I like the story.

This is the second or third game by this company and given in giveawayoftheday that has a false ending. You do not receive the full game unless you buy it. This time there was a box of scrolls you opened throughout the game and an entire scroll and 8 stones still were missing at the end. As Giveawayoftheday promotes full game downloads this is getting very annoying.

I would like to ask most of these developers to add a "Save Game" option. I cannot find one in this game and for someone who is a casual game player, would like to save the game and continue on after an hour or so, especially when the game time is over five hours.

Tried 6 times to download this game. ^ times it failed. I tried both Firefox and Chrome. VERY disappointed as I really wanted the game. Any other way to get the full free license product yet?
Save | Cancel
I tried downloading through Firefox twice, and both times it choked and quit. I went and installed a download manager, a stand-alone product and not just an add-on. The game then downloaded in just 15 minutes. Even though I trust GGOTD, I always check downloads with Virus Total. This download scored a 0/62, as I expected.
I run Win 8.1 on my 2GHz AMD processor with 8GB of RAM. The game installed easily and registered on the first attempt. I started to run the game, and Wow, am I impressed! I haven't played a HOG in a very long time, and I wasn't sure what to expect. After I started playing the game (actually "struggling" would be more like it), the game offered to let me play with the tutorial. The game then started to be a lot more fun.
The illustrations and animation are brilliant. Everything looks right, like it's supposed to be there. This visual theme of everything looking well-coordinated seems to run through the whole game. The music is appropriate to the game, and adds flavor and a certain eerie feeling while not being intrusive during play. The sound effects are adequate but nothing special. When I push the help button the result is generally not all that helpful, but it is sufficient to allow the game to move along without creating long pauses while I try to figure something out. I think that having the Help Ferret talk to explain the help would be a nice addition.
The little games are confusing to me. So far I have played 2 or so and skipped 1. The controls for gameplay on picking locks, for example, didn't make sense to me. Basically, I have won the games I've played, and I have no idea how or why I won them. I like having the choice to play them or skip them.
It helps that once I have stripped an area of maps or clues or artifacts, the game won't let me waste time by going back and searching that area again.
I am enjoying the game very much. I like it that I set the pace and don't have to play within specified time limits. Experienced HOGers might find the game a little simplistic, but I like it that the game is not so hard that I get frustrated with it and want to quit. Also, I like it that the game seems safe to play with my young son. I don't have a problem with the idea of people playing violent games with foul language, etc., but I prefer to play games where I wouldn't feel embarrassed if my son walked in and wanted to join me.
I will keep and play this game, and I would recommend it to just about anybody.

As a follow up, I tried to change it to not be full screen and after some play, it started the flicker. I uninstalled the program and ran the GOTD setup again. Once installed and I ran it, I has the same problem with the flickering. It kept my profile somewhere. There is no way to change it back to full screen the way it is behaving.
I am very sad because it looked like a game I would love. :(
Feedback on how to improve the game: Make it not so finicky and have it work right.

Downloaded quickly on 8.1 and played through for awhile with ease. Relatively simple thus far. The graphics are very good and most is self explanatory, but there
is a hint or skip on puzzles if needed. Thanks for another great game!!

Downloaded it and installed it and things seem fine. When I try to run it, I get to different points and it freezes. Always seem to get a little farther each time. The last time I ran it, it flickered on, off, partial screen, full screen. It was having a real hard time running.
Some of the time I get an error dialog box and I can't click on it due to the game window. I bless Ctrl+Alt+Del because that was the only way to get to access Restart which was the only way to quit the game. Sad because it looks great and it is my favorite type of game.

would like to install this and play it BUT the computer has to be connected to the internet to install it and cannot be tranfered to another computer. my dad's computer is the only one connected to the internet. my games are downloaded and installed into a folder on his computer and then the folder is cut and pasted into a sd card and then tranfered via sd card into my game folder on my computer. other games gotten here can be done this way. Why cannot this be done with Playrix games?

Downloaded and installed without a hitch on my Windows 8.1 PC.
It plays okay but it's squished down into a letterbox format. Deselecting the widescreen option makes it worse. Windowed mode has the right ratio but it's too small and not resizable. My screen resolution is 1920 x 1080.
I'm not too keen on looking for hidden objects by shape but it's definitely better than the games that make you look for little pieces of objects.
Not withstanding the aspect ratio issue, it looks pretty good. Definitely worth keeping.

It's interesting that you played 15 mins without running in to any hog scenes. I found one in the first five minutes of play, you got to see a list of silhouettes and had to find the matching object in a junk pile. I enjoy playing hog's so I'm not complaining.

Since I can only give it thumbs up or thumbs down it gets a thumbs up. But barely. The install went great, the game went well, the story line was okay. I did have one point where I clicked the bug with chains and there was no way out but to back out of the game and go back in. The music is awkwardly placed and sometimes too loud or just stops mid cut scene. I finished the game and I have to say that while it was interesting, you get into it and the games are sometimes really challenging...you get to the end and say WTH?!
*SPOILERS*
By the time I finished the game I was SO glad it was free. I mean, I totally don't understand where it all went. It's like they made it, in the game writing, to the part where you let whats-his-name make a copy of your map and they gave up. Oh, where should we go with the story now? Well we're kinda tired of writing. Let's let her get to this cave and click symbols and we'll tell them "the spell is broken" and somehow this will magically mean that you stopped the sorceress, the clan, the evil, the henchmen, everything. And your friend who went out to make a copy of the map disappears to let you go fight the bad guys and never returns. You find your brother and there's a 15-20 second cut scene where you hug the ugly lil bugger and the end. WTH? Free, worth it. Don't pay for it. Ever. You'll be hella disappointed.

Still, Many thanks to GAOTD team and Playrix.

Double YAY! Another adventure game (I do love these---what does that say about my life?), and lookin' good so far. And when I read all the problems people were having with installing or crashing, I was really nervous, but so far, so good. Downloaded in a reasonable time and installed fine on Win 8.1. So far kinda easy (I did choose regular mode) but I'm sure it will be getting harder. Really looking forward to getting more into it tomorrow. Happy Holidays all!

Game downloaded just fine and started playing however, I am stuck in one particular area where I have rearrange books and have to use the hint, but when I do, it shows I have to go back into the room, which I do. I click on the hint button, it shows I have to click on the books and it tells me I have to use the hint to rearrange them and it starts all over again with having to back into the room. I must be missing something for that room lol.

I've downloaded this successfully and so far only had an hour to play. However, it looks to be exactly the sort of game that I love - challenging puzzles, excellent graphics (as always from Playrix) and an intriguing storyline. I like the different grades that you can play (Casual, Advanced, Expert) - I find Advanced quite difficult enough for me! There is a map that shows where you are, which is good, but I haven't played far enough to know if it's a "jump there" map. So far I've got to the first real puzzle - where you have to swap the tiles to set the water canal, and I've spent about 15 minutes on it without success. Now, that might really freak some people out, but it just means that I've got to persevere...
The only comment I would have for developers so far is that it would be really nice to have the option to change settings before the initial story screens. I found the music far too loud and needed to turn it down a great deal. Also, something that I've seen on a couple of other games, is that when you're changing audio settings it's helpful to have an example of what you're changing from and to. That way, you aren't suddenly confronted with very loud voice settings as happened here (I didn't dare lower the voice setting volume without first hearing it, as some games have quite soft voiceovers).

Apparently the problem is Internet Explorer is unable to connect to GOTD for activation, even though it works fine on other websites. I use Firefox as my main browser, but it seems the games require IE to work properly for activation. Hoping it's a GOTD problem that will be fixed in time to install today's game.

If it helps at all...
Installed to a VBox win7 32 bit VM, where it will run. It does take a bit of storage to install -- ~630MB for the zip file, + around the same amount for the expanded folder, then somewhere between 600-800MB for the hidden uncompressed install files, + ~800MB for the installed game. Run at default settings resulted in the VBox VM window resizing, so something a bit unusual going on there [as pointed out in other posts]. The game itself uses Direct X plus OpenGL. While the DX requirements are not too heavy [or else it wouldn't run in the emulated environ of the VM], OpenGL support is not universal across all hardware, so **maybe** that's where some are having problems?

I get "Failed to Connect" error. I use Firefox browser, but appears the error is my Internet Explorer is unable to reach GOTD, although it works fine on other websites. I tried deleting cache and cookies in IE, but it still tries to open GOTD when first launched and fails. Hope it's just a temporary problem with GOTD that gets fixed in time to install the game.
