An easy, logical, nerve-calming game.

Dwarves are back, and now they are about to explore dozens of new game levels provided in Set 5!

This is not just another fairy tale. It’s a saga about the everlasting battle between good and evil, and you are the main character. Since earliest times the glorious clan of dwarves is standing guard over the subterranean world. And this work is hard and all-important indeed. Only the few know that all the worlds are connected to each other with secret passages. Most of these passages are underground, hidden from strangers’ eyes. A casual traveler enters a cave as a shelter from bad weather, but we know it hides a gate to another world. A gate from where unbidden visitors may come.

The dwarves are guarding the passage secret and keep peace in their world… And now the world shuddered. For the majority it is just a natural disaster. But we know: the world substance is torn, it’s time to take arms, go down and stop the invaders.

Your mission is to purge the dungeons from the evil and gather as much treasures as you can - it will take plenty of gold and diamonds to repair the seal on the Gate between the worlds. The Warrior and the Wizard are the greatest heroes of their people. What do you prefer - slashing steel or will-power? Make your choice and start your journey.

Remember, the fate of many worlds depends on you…

No one loves dwarves. Most free flash games are much more enjoyable than this one.

I have played many Brave Dwarves games (including this one) and I am not too fond of the series. If you're looking for a good platform game, try Bud Redhead instead of this one. Not recommended.

Now... First of all, #3 (Ron) somebody rating this game thumbs down doesn't hurt you, so why are you freaking out? Secondly, what if that person who rated it thumbs down had already played it before it being available on GGAOTD? Honestly, I found your comment quite offensive. You talk about people being ignorant, unappreciative, and bratty...so in what category do your comments fall into? Please.

This game is way too difficult to play. I'm so sorry to have to watch
my elder brother playing. It's so sad.
BTW. In a couple of weeks I'll celebrate my very first birthday...

this was horrible. I played through the first level, and all you do is walk around and kill the little things scattered throughout. there's no interesting jump puzzles (no puzzles at all, actually), no interesting enemies, and the level is just boring. this is possibly the worst platformer game I've ever played.

I now see why so many others are complaining about yet another of these games.

#7 if the screen freezes on you just hit the Control and Alt and Delete buttons all together once and you will open a window called the Task Manager. On the Applications tab find the program that froze your machine in the list (it will typically say "not responding" out to the right of the application name) and click the close button. On some Windows systems pressing Ctl+Alt+Del once will open up a Windows Security screen first--just click on the Task Manager button..then applications tab..then close the nonresponsive program.

Be careful to only hit Ctl+Alt+Del one time and patiently wait for the task manager window to display. Pressing this key combination twice will reboot your machine and you will lose any unsaved data in open programs.

Nice enough game for free. I have no idea who pays as much as people want for games such as this, to me the price seems about twice what they are worth.

I still give it a thumbs up, despite installing an additional desktop icon without warning. No other overt spyware activity noted. I have not clicked on the in game "Go to Website" as I seem to have bad luck with those.

My 4yo grandson loves it. I like decent time wasters. This reminds me of a fancy Gameboy platform game like Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle.

Good morning everyone! ;)

My son loves these games and will have a wonderful time playing when I tell him (age 25 lol.)

This isn't a game that I play personally, so I'll let him review it, double back and place one later next week.

Thank you Game Over for adding to our Brave Dwarves library. It's truly a generous offer. :) However, I would dearly like to see your other games on offer here as well - such as:

Kenny's Adventure: In Search of Family Treasures;
Board Games Collection.

Thanks always to GotD for conceiving such a great initiative!

Downloaded, installed, and activated in 15min at 50k dial-up (file size approx 7mb), worked on a 466Mhz pc running WinXp Pro SP1 with Directx 8.1 and had no problems. Fun Game.

NO MOUSE SUPPORT (info for the handicapable) but does have a game pad option. Game runs in 800 and 1024 modes and You can set your own keys (just not mouse keys). Very nice graphics, easy to play, definately a keeper for me as I had a fav game similar to this back in the old DOS (Pre-Windows) days but was nowhere near as good as this one.

#6 I didnt know about this site in April (a lot of people didn't but I'm spreading the word), this is my first Brave Dwarves game and I think it's very good. You shouldn't give a bad review or thumbs down just because you have a "previous" version.

#7 the splash screen is slow loading the game, I originally thought I was stuck at the black screen but the game did load and it worked.

More free games than you can shake a stick at at http://www.caiman.us

Thanks Gameover Games and the GAOTD Team! Keep'em coming!

stop complaining people,
if you don't like kiddie games then leave,
you complain about paying, now you are complaining about free stuff,.....
but....
it would be nice to have some "adult" games, MattB, define "adult" games, I think you mean grownup, not adult lol
fps would be nice, rts,.....
all well, I like this game, my first dwarfe game, pretty neet, installed and had no problem

I do think that all those complaining that they have a Brave Dwarves game already need to remember that this site is not all about an individual building their collection with different titles. "Commenting only on the software here" is not about whether you have the game or one like it already, it is about the quality of the game.

Please remember also that there are many new visitors to the site every day who have never seen the game before. It truly is not all about your personal collection.

When will we get more adult games instead of kids games? How about some strategy for once? It seems like all that is ever offered are breakout & tetris clones and kiddie games.

Thank you SO much for giving us another sequel to Brave Dwarfs! I love them. Got it for my grandkids, and I am hooked! Already have Back For Treasures, BD Gold, expansion pack 4, 10, and 11 and BD2 (don't care too much for BD2 but the grands like it).. I love them! Keep them coming. I don't care if this is an "older" dos type, those were the GOOD ones, I want them ALL. Hate the 3D types. #15, keep them ALL. They're not all the same! #7 maybe it's the graphics setting when you first start it? #6, don't care if it is a prequel.. I want #6, 7, and 8. And if there's an expansion pack 2, and 3, I'll be looking for them anxiously!

Sigh. All my plans for the day just went out the window. I love Brave Dwarves! It would be fine with me if you gave a set away every day :-)

#15 - My favorite is Brave Dwarves 2 Deluxe. It's not all one big "room" like the expansion packs - there are totally separate "rooms" that you have to navigate and you kind of need to keep track of. You can buy tools to help you along your way (like a map that tells you which rooms you've been to and which ones you haven't, as well as where the keys and the hyperspace things are). My sister, on the other hand, doesn't like that one as much because it's a lot harder, and she likes the brainless navigating of the expansion packs (her words, not mine). As far as I know, she doesn't have a favorite.

Wasted 20 minutes downloading this software on a dial-up, and uninstalled it shortly thereafter. If it has instructions, I couldn't find them... the "How to Play" tutorial says there are dwarves, orbs, and diamonds you're supposed to use to accomplish something involving power and points, and that's all the information you get.

So... I hit the Play button and found I could make the dwarf move with the arrow keys, but where I'm supposed to want to move him to, and how to get him to do anything once he gets there remains a mystery. Running him through a pile of blue diamonds made some disappear, but the zeros flying out of the pile suggests that's not how you "collect" them. Other keys don't seem to do anything.

Since my psychic abilities failed to reveal what the strategy and point of this game are supposed to be, the software is completely useless. Nonetheless, I appreaciate G.GOTD giving us the opportunity to try these games for free. I've purchased games from a couple of other developers I discovered here, but GameOver Games won't be one of them.

Brave Dwarves - Back for Treasures (Set 10) was offered on GGAOTD way back at 11th of April. The score then was 155 thumbs up or in another words 83%.

I guess because of that Gameover Games decided that they would test to what extent they can offer the same thing over and over again. Even so much so that the offer today, Set 5, is a prequel that dates back to 2004. If looked like an early Amiga game then, it looks even worse now.

Thanks but no thanks.

The game had been available for less than two minutes, and there was already a thumbs done posted. It's impossible to have downloaded, played, evaluated, and posted that information that quickly... thus, somebody with more idle time than brains is just seeking to be the first to show how unappreciative they can be.

Personally, I'd rather hear about the game, good and bad aspects, and special features or lack thereof, than the ranting of an ignorant brat who probably thinks that Paris is a role model instead of the capital of France.

This is an enjoyable platformer. The problem is, once you have one set (such as one of the others that has been offered here in the past), there's no point in getting any of the others, as the levels are all the same.
