In Brief:
This is not the VR brick Breaker DUO, that was released back in 2016 on Steam, it's a 2D platformer created using the Unity game engine, that has an unusual 'Dual' theme where you control two coloured faces (orange and blue) using the same controls for both. Once both faces are at the portals, the next level opens.

The aim is to navigate both faces to the two coloured portals, which are coloured the same as the two faces. There are platforms and obstacles as well as crossover sections and buttons to activate things to allow you to get both faces to the portals with some puzzle elements thrown in for good measure. When you see a break in the black line it will be coloured the same as one of the faces, it means that same coloured face can pass over to the opposite side of the barrier that usually separates the two faces.

This is an interesting game with nice graphics, however there are some issues. The How to Play section just says Go Back, with no instructions included and once you've passed several levels when you press Escape to return to the main menu, the menu items apart from being written backwards are not working, so you have to exit the game using Alt+F4., though you can exit the game after playing three or four levels, just not later (see the last two images). The first few levels. It doesn't specify how many levels there are and sadly, progress isn't saved, which would imply there won't be too many.

There appears to be a double jump ability, but it feels intermittent as it doesn't always work. Whether this is intentional IDK?

Adding instructions and the ability to save the game as well as changing the background image on each level There's only two background images used on all of the several levels I worked through) would benefit this game tremendously.

You can see a video of game play HERE
W or Left Arrow key = Move Left
D or Right Arrow key = Move Right
W or Space = Jump
Esc = Return to Main Menu
LMB = Activates menu item
Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found zero hits from 63 antimalware engines. You can see the scan HERE.

Hello Whiterabbit-uk,
I have a question about the publisher Ashoot. Do you know why he/she/they disappeared from itch.io?
I noticed on the 10th (Me And Post Apocalypse) that the link didn't work, as does the current link.

2 typos in that. I want it to be clear. Moderators, if you don't mind, delete that and I'll try again. Thanks.

FalcoWare: I thought you had given us other games from creators on Itch. You think that they don't like their creators giving away games here? Would be go to know, though not essential. But, since you brought it up, I thought I would ask. Thanks

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm wondering whether it's also because some of Ashoots games are also under other developers names. whether this is because he/she uses different names IDK.

Duo is a 2D puzzle game with some enhanced unity graphics that requires the two different characters to work together to solve challenges so that each reach the end portals of their same character colors in order to proceed to the next level. The controls are mostly workable using the AD or left/right arrows to move and either W or space to jump, while holding down the jump key jumps higher or can jump in a different direction after you hit the ground again...but there are many obstacles you will encounter in the way to a level completion. A character also will stay put once of them reaches the portal allowing you to control only the other character - this is important for example as in the 4th level I believe (not labeled) the sides close on the two sides of the portal if you dont stay in place and would have to restart the level.

This appears to be a game made for the 2022 Global Game Jam which brings together game makers, musicians, artists, programmers, beginners, and veterans to make a game based on a shared world-wide theme in forty-eight hours so if so its a very nice effort for such a short time and explains the apparent 9 levels or so and missing elements some of which mentioned by whiterabbit so far. It would be nice to see the games released like this continued a bit more for polish if they are reviewed favorably or continued into a full game rather than continue to mainly put out unfinished/demos that may never be touched again. The black bar that blocks you in the foreground for example is a bit hard to differentiate over the background columns intentional or not.

This is an interesting genre of games which appeal to many types of players and there have been quite a lot actually, with the latest games players even jump between 2D and 3D to solve a games many puzzle challenges - a recent example of this might be shady part of me on steam and one of the added games that are part of humble bundle february choice bundle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHzwX0Nv5G4

Since the game is short its worth a download if you enjoy this genre and is quite a step above some of the shorter demos actually some may immediately want to delete rather than try.
