The Game:
It's unlikely I'm going to have time to play more of the game today (I used the download directly from TooMky Games); what I did play was the first puzzle, a simple jigsaw, mainly to capture some screen captures for the review. I finally retired (rabbit sitting again) just before this game went live at 8am UK time, so won't be compos mentis until after 'noon' at the very earliest. I'll try to post more details if I do manage to get some game play time in. I will moderate any comments later today.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 3 hits (VBA32, Jiangmin & BitDefenderTheta) from 57 antimalware engines. These three are amongst only several antimalware suites that often tag TooMKY Games compared to most better known and more reliable antimalware engines, so it's very likely to be a false positive; so, it's very likely to be a false positive.

The downloaded executable 'may' include some low level adware that opens your browser to TooMKY Games home page after the game has installed and may place some shortcuts onto your desktop; these can be safely deleted once the game has installed.

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to TooMKY Games home page following the games installation, it earns TooMKY Games games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. The giveaway version of TooMKY games version has had most of the adware disabled.

You can see the results of the scan via the following link:

Other Free Games:
Please check Delenn's threads over in the giveaway forums HERE and HERE for the latest non Steam and Steam freebies. Also for the latest Steam sales check THIS Steam database site out. You can list the games in 'price' & 'percentage off' by clicking the headers. If you link SteamDB with your Steam account all games that you already have will be highlighted in green. When there are Steam games being given away, you'll see 100% off.

Steam have started their Autumn/fall sale which ends on 1st December at 10am Pacific.
Don't forget to check Indie Gala's freebie section HERE, then click on the Showcase header, selecting freebies from the drop down menu; recent additions include Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon, Distortions, Dino Run DX, Cheap Golf, Kill Em All, Dead Hungry Diner and Contract with the Devil. All remaining freebies can be found in the showcase section (around 100 are available). Not all games that go into the showcase remain free, so you should grab them as soon as you can.

The latest Epic freebie's include Antstream - Epic Welcome Pack - Grab 1090 Gems for free to use in-game! This in-game currency can be spent on playing games, challenges and limited-time tournaments! Gems can also be used to unlock harder challenges and play turn-based PvP against friends and other players!. You'll also need to install the Antstream client before you can spend the gems. Better still we will also be getting the base game for The Hunter: Call of the Wild; (which is presently my number one favourite game that I've been playing virtually every day both solo and with friends since June 2021). The base game includes two of the available 10 reserves i.e. Hirschfelden (Germany) and Leyton Lakes (United States); which you can find details of HERE. There are several DLC's that should be available free as well (e.g. Backpacks, new species, Compound Bow, Shooting Range and others). I've posted an edited copy of my Steam review over in the forums HERE, together with lots of screen captures that show the beauty of this game. Each of the reserves covers around 25 to 30 square miles of reserve that you can explore fully, with day and night cycles as well as weather effects and environmental and animal sounds; the immersion within this game is amazing.
Next Thursday 2nd December we will be getting two more games, i.e. Dead by Daylight, a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed plus While True: Learn (Data Scientist Edition), is a puzzle/simulation game about even more puzzling stuff: machine learning, neural networks, big data and AI. But most importantly, it’s about understanding your cat.

The best Indie Bundles sites that have been operating from around 2011 are the Humble Bundle and Indie Gala sites where you'll sometimes find decent bundles with over 90% off the usual price of the games included in the bundles. The Humble site is in my opinion the best. A more recent addition that is worth checking out are the Fanatical bundles that you can find HERE (thanks Delenn for reminding me of this bundle, I've just recovered my account and found thousands of Steam keys listed from various bundles I purchased from 2012 to 2017).

Also well worth checking is CDKeys, where you can pick up games with as much as 98% off. I got last years STAR WARS™ Squadrons for 98% off back in October, costing me a crazy £0.38p. You'll find CDKeys HERE. You can get the Ultimate Edition of the acclaimed game Control (GOG version) for £0.59, Dragon Age: Inquisition (Epic version) for £0.49 (both 98% off), both from CD Keys.

Nice one, thanks for posting. I used to buy most of the add-ons for the train Sim, but stopped back in 2017 when I realised i'd spent over £1000 just on that one game. It's nice to actually get some rolling stock for free. :)

I played this game a bit ago, it's like the cluttered series with a story. The difference is the characters, even what you're finding is the same as the other cluttered games. There are a handful of these different stories with the same items to pair up either by 2s or 3s, black to colored and 1/2 to 1/2. Even the crystals are the same. Since I have played it before and have the other dozens just like this, I'm gonna pass this time. It is a game you can play on a break or while waiting for your appt/interview and a good matching game for the kids.

While not a big fan of regular HOGs this one caught me. So far plays like a picture puzzle, then couple of those uncovered 2 matches (hard for my amateur mind until got hang of going for large pieces, and free blue jewels, save the Hint). 3 levels, played 10 min timer, but there's a No Timer. Graphics ok enough other than people bit weak. Sort of a background story to hold it so 8.5/10 me.

I was expecting this to be hog. It has the same characters and music as Dreamscapes - The Sandman and Dreamscapes 2. Instead, this is basically a match 2 - match 3 type of game. I'm still on the fence whether I'll be keeping it or not.

i received the same box at the top of my install as "The Netherlands" did. It is really disappointing! I was looking forward to a new HOG! I will uninstall unless someone has a way to "command" past it. The only command that I have found that will work is "Exit" and it closes the game.

(I tried to make a HTML table. Hope this works.)

Are they both more or less reasonable, and if not, which one is the right?

Can't play this game, I tried to download it twice and it still don't work. The screen is all messed up. Won't be downloading it again, not worth the frustration.

In the installation process, I was reqested to install the "ToomkyGames Gadget". What is this?
It is the same as the "ToomkyGames Toolbar"?
In the [FAQ](https://toomkygames.com/faq "ToomkyGames FAQ"), there is only explained, how to install or uninstall the Gadget/ the Toolbar, not what it is or what it does.
I assume, it's a kind of adware.

The graphics make this game look a lot like Catch the Witch which I like very much. Downloading now. Will be back later with better comment. Thanks.

Kelltic, So Dream Walker is very much like Catch the Witch. It has the same little problem to. Sometimes takes three clicks to get the item to react. It isn't as bad in this game as it was in CTW, but it's there. Otherwise, nice little game. At first I thought it was too easy, but then I had to repeat a level several times, so maybe not too easy or maybe I've just been sitting at the computer too long. All in all, happy with today's giveaway. Certainly worth installing and giving it a try.

This is a timed game. I'll probably uninstall it. It gives you a choice of 3 levels of difficulty, but still every level is timed. I personally hate timed games.

Robert Eckler, One of the levels of difficult in the game I downloaded was UNTIMED. You might want to check your options again.

Robert Eckler, The easiest level is not timed.

Robert Eckler,

If you choose Very Casual ...then it's timeless... Have been playing to level 12 in my own pace already ...

Robert Eckler, I wish they would always give us a choice. To me, without the time limits, a game like this loses it's appeal altogether. It's like The Ribbon. Most like it, Me I hate it. Choices so everyone can be happy is best.

Reply   |   Comment by Kelltic  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Robert Eckler, There is a difficulty level, casual, that is not timed.

OOOH! A new-to-us HOG! Thanks to TooMky Games and GGOTD for this, looking forward to playing it.

Good to see a game which offers no time limits whatever: BIG TICK!

I'm hoping that this one won't be in the "fries the motherboard graphics within five minutes or less" category. I have an elderly hp/compaq laptop which has on-board Intel HD graphics, and a lot of HOGs (I suspect, can't be certain!) get the graphics chip so hot that I have to close the game before the CPU temperature gets close to 90°C.

Mystery Cookbook is particularly quick at doing that, I think it's the animated speech bubbles mainly, but the whole game in general is like putting a blowtorch under the laptop. Many other GGOTDs: Fall of the New Age - Collectors Edition, The Lake House - Children of Silence, Dream Hills - Captured Magic, to name but three, are "good" only for a few minutes before I have to shut them down. FAST. On the other hand, Magic Ocean works fine, for as long as I want.

I'm hoping that today's GGOTD HOG is not in the "melty" category, but the more recent the game, the more likely it is to happen. I don't know if TooMky, Alawar, and the others can do anything to make the graphics less 'demanding' for older chipsets, but I'd certainly appreciate it! HOG backgrounds don't have to have several little animated elements in them, for example. Perhaps just an option to turn off BG animations and similar graphics-resource-heavy things could be a solution?

Anyway, I'm off to grab and enjoy Dream Walker. If I can, I'll let you know here later whether or not it's a "melty" one. :D

Oh dear. Sadly, Dream Walker is a near-instant "melter."

Got about two minutes into trying to assemble the jigsaw and the CPU temperature skyrocketed.

FWIW, probably an [extreme?] accumulation of dust or one or more fans quit working. Some laptops are surprisingly easy to get into, some not -- if you want, Google on disassembly or fan replacement etc. using the brand & model number. A site like ifixit[.]com may have full illustrated instructions. My wife's Lenovo 2-in-1 or convertible laptop just requires a phillips screwdriver & what they call a spudger -- they're a sort of small, plastic pry bar to separate the 2 halves where the case snaps together [like a wide screwdriver made out of plastic so it doesn't cause visible damage]. Anyway, if you can find directions & feel it's something you can handle, you can probably find replacement fans on Amazon or eBay to order beforehand. Best luck if you decide to give it a try. :)

Cad Delworth, I have a dedicated graphics card and it still used it between 70-85%, even at the first menu that has nothing moving. I agree this sort of thing seems like bad programming and it shouldn't do this.

Reply   |   Comment by jb  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

After installing the program I got an error message on top of the starting screen of the game. I could still play the game, but is was annoying :-)
Something with "UnauthorizedAccesException.... denied", also something with "System.IO.FileStream...." and Boolean.
I started the problem solver and it changed the comptabilitiy to W8 (never had that on this PC). Same error. Then I opted to change compatibility to W7 (had that system before W10) and that did the trick.

tiscrea © - The Netherlands, I ve got the same. Extremely annyoing. Trying playing it on Win10. That s problem is cause by Windows 10, I am sure. Looking forward to get my old PC with Win 7 Ultimate back soon... No problems with playing such games on it

tiscrea © - The Netherlands, I had the same issue on a Win10 machine. I had no luck via the compatibility options. But running as administrator successfully ran without the message bar at the top.
