I've just finished playing this - I think about 3.5 hours (I haven't bothered to check the stats!).
I love HOGs and especially ones that have puzzles as well. I felt that game came fairly near to the story except at the end - but this may have been because the developers felt that they had to have an ending that could appeal to all ages. (I'm not sure that they were right if that was the case, as in my experience young people enjoy a bit of horror!!)
Anyway for my own thoughts - IMHO:
Pros:
different types of HOGs (lists, silhouettes, numbers of the same thing to find etc)
music (quite eerie)
a decent story even if it didn't finish as the novella does
some good puzzles and the first jigsaw was particularly challenging
kept my attention (wanting to know what was coming next).
Cons:
one of my pet hates in HOGs - having to be absolutely precise in where you click and even then it didn't always work (it's absolutely infuriating when you use a hint only to find that you've been trying to click on that darn thing!!)
the way it would move the scene even if you didn't want it to (I couldn't find a way to freeze the scene, but I apologise if I've missed something)
some of the HOGs seemed rather like filler to extend the time - the knives, forks and spoons was incredibly easy and didn't add anything to the story
the way it would illuminate the supposedly hidden object that you needed to add to inventory - it's supposed to be a HOG for any sake!!
To sum up, I quite enjoyed playing this game apart from the Cons that I've listed, but have deleted it now.
Pros: the

HI,
I didn't have a chance to come back and review yesterday, though downloaded and played awhile. It took a short while to download and opened easily. I did feel a drag on opening and often in the game. At first I did not like it and would best describe play as disjointed!! But as I played on I began liking it more. Game play is easy and you follow one short scenario with puzzles or hogs in it. It could use some smoothness to the flow of the game. A couple of times while playing I would click on the hidden item, but was not accepted until clicked a few times or found all others first. Thank you for another good game. Don't much like the look of Sunday's game, so am skipping, because am backed up with work etc. Have a good week! Lee

I love HOGs so I was pleased to see this one and it downloaded and played with no problems. (Windows 10) It is a bit light on instructions, and play is a bit different from many other HOGs so there was a bit of trial and error to sort out what to do. I liked that you can magnify the scenes to make finding stuff easier - and the ability to increase the brightness is very useful. Was confused by some of the instructions until I realised that all you had to do was click somewhere on the screen the stated number of times! Odd. Some of the hidden objects are quite small and hard to find, I wouldn't like to have to find them in the windowed mode! Overall though, a really nice game - thanks GGOTD.

Downloaded on my Vista laptop after disabling my antivirus briefly. At the end of the install, it opened a new browser tab to the MPC website and telling me to add an extension to complete the installation! I don't think so! The game looks fun but if I have to be tracked by MPC to play it, I'm getting rid of it post haste!

I downloaded and installed 2 times. Each time I try to open it, I get an error message that shows in the top a Chinese text. It's the first time that something like this happens to me with this games. It's a pity that I lose the giveaway for expiration.

I just finished Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. The entire game with a few breaks for meals lasted about 4 hours of game play. The graphics are decent, though you can tell they are dated. Aside from finding random objects, you do find objects you need to finish the task. I really liked the arrows to let you know where to go. What I didn't like was how small the objects were. I really had to squint to find them. I wouldn't play this again, it isn't the type of story plot that is all that interesting. I did have to turn off the sound on this game because even at the lowest setting, you could hear the chattering of the people and I was listening to a program on YouTube while playing.
The Pro's:
I am quite the HOG fan, so, I can say with some experience that I had no issue downloading and installing or even playing on WIN 10.
Basic story line with a "relaxed" game play (not timed); timed for those who want some spice with their game.
Decent graphics with items easily recognized.
The Cons:
The noise or sound on the game has a bug. It won't let you play in complete quiet. You can hear the chattering in the first scene for example while the volume is on the lowest setting.
The graphics are dated. The items are clearly computer generated, the lines were not polished and the scene needed a zoom feature so you can make the room larger without compensating the graphics (distorting, making them fuzzy, etc.).
Extra game play, allow the player more choices to change the outcome of the game. (SPOILER ALERT): One panel toward the end had the player make an antidote OR follow the person into the cemetery for example. More of those.
That's about it. As a game it's pretty decent but low interest. It's one of those games you do once, put it on the shelf, come back to it in a year or so.
Thanks Game Giveaway of the Day and the maker/s for the game.

I play on an small screen. The little objects are difficult to see. I don't see a button to exit back to the main menu. Playing with sound off. Would that make a difference.

Win10 64 bit Home. I found this game easy to load and play. Just a few adjustments at the menu and away we go. Items were easy to follow. Lots of things to do like click this and that but the game was easy to follow. I did wonder what all the gold stars were for and they are for Hints. Great game and thank you.

Ok. Here's an update to my previous comment: I find that there is indeed a way to create more players for the game, but this option comes up only after you exit the game and restart it.

I liked the atmosphere and graphics of this game. I also liked the cool parallax scrolling effect.
BUT, there were a fews things I didn't like:
1) It looks like only one person can play this game. There is no way where you can change the player.
2) The various scenes of the game seem to be disjointed. There is no smooth story flowing through the game. (I guess the game may make more sense to someone who has read the book.)
3) The instructions are not very clear; or the developers have left it for the player to find out how some things work. For example, when the blurred scenes appear: The first time I tried clicking on specific things; but only later, quite by chance, I realized that the scene becomes clearer each time we click anywhere on the scene!
On the whole, I enjoyed the game. My only wish is that the game should be made more user friendly.

Thanks to MPC and HdO for this one.
Yes as others have said it is DARK and you WILL need to take the brightness up to max. One niggle though: the Brightness slider affects the WHOLE SYSTEM and not just the game's window, so I advise you note where the Brightness is BEFORE you move it, so you can set it back before you Quit. ;)
The cryptic ones like "4 × Keep going!" 'goals' just mean you need to click anywhere that number of times: had me puzzled for a while!
Not played much of this yet, but this is I'd say a medium diffculty HOG (once you put the lights on with Brightness!) and even then the objects are tricky to spot. Luckily the abundant star bonuses (= extra hints) make up for that.
I like the style of this so far and frankly I just like the puzzles, so the story line (anyone NOT know the ending?!!) based as it is on the classic novel will hardly be a surprise.
I've not got to minigames yet but I've seen reviews say they range from almost trivial to mind-bending. If that's true, it will need sorting out. No point having generally easy-ish minigames if there's an occasional complete swine now and again to upset the apple-cart. That inconsistency of difficulty doesn't appeal, though naturally I'll expect the minigame difficulty to GRADUALLY increase as the game nears the end.
My only problem was in its initial full screen mode, I had BIG trouble clicking OPTIONS and the screen was flickering plus the mouse didn't work. It took invoking Task Manager (which the game STILL hid from me!) to eventually grab control, this was on Win7 Home. That niggle apart, I'm still trying to get my head around the 3D movement thing and which way I need to move the mouse to correspond with the arrow. Or am I the only person who doesn't "get it?" :)
Looking forward to playing this more!

Was happy to see another HOG/adventure game, but almost didn't download after reading reviews on the Web with people complaining that there was no story, and just one HOG after another. But glad I did install, because there IS a storyline (not much, but enough to make it coherent): the lawyer's search for Hyde and trying to figure out why Jekyll is so fond of Hyde :). And I was happy to discover that the HOGs are broken up a bit by a variety of puzzles, some more challenging than others. There are limited hints, but chances to replenish them. I'm probably about halfway through, and while this doesn't engage me like the best of these do, it's so far fun to drop in on, do a few HOGs and puzzles, and quit for a while, something I'm sometimes unable to do when the story line/mystery/challenge is greater! So a solid C+ for me.

Twice I clicked the email link. So far, 6 hours later, I have not received a download link. Guess you don't want folks trying this out that badly.

GLD, BULL! I have D/L' d lots from this site. Never had an issue, until now. So it's not my end. Don't try to tell me it's something I did. I haven't changed anything since the last D/L, and EVERYONE else seems to be able to get through to me, no problem. Not that I want your game that badly, but I hate neing told that it's something I did, or something with my sysrem. I know it;s neither. so find out what the problem is, fix it, and stop trying to pass the buck with stale C/S responses.

Appeared to install fine on my Windows 8.1 computer. Launches but doesn't recognize my corded Microsoft mouse - so I am "stuck". No problem with mouse on other apps.

Well....it certainly downloaded quickly, and installed cleanly, with no troubles on my Windows 10 laptop. The graphics are nice, but there are only still images in the game. That takes away a lot of the enjoyment for me. The instructions are not at all clear, so one is left just clicking around on the first image, to "open their eyes". I found that rather nonsensical. The game seems to rely a lot on the sound track, which is not bad either, but having a game full of still images cheapens it for me. The hidden items are nice and small, and require a lot of hunting, but I like that in a(n) HOG. I don't think this will keep m attention, and will likely uninstall it. Thanks for the free go though !

Game installed OK and started up OK.
In full screen mode, the cursor was almost impossible to see. It kept blinking on and off - mostly off. I went to windowed mode and the cursor was fine, but the game took up a fraction of the screen.
I can't find anything to set the game to timed or not timed. Once in the game, it's impossible to get to the menu. I had to crash the game to get out.
The game punishes the user for too many clicks without finding anything. Get rid of that! I will decide how I play the game. That punishment is insulting to the user.
I may try again later but I've already spent more time on this game than it's worth.

I've played the game for just an hour so far, but I quite like it. It doesn't have the (sorry) rather hokey storyline so many HOG games do -- the find all the magic artifacts to save some poor primitive tribe or rescue your kidnapped lover or whatever. Likely this is due to being based on an actual piece of literature with a competent plot and theme and all that good stuff. The actual HOG scenes are fair so far, and there are at least three ways they work better for people like me with older eyes: 1) the game options allows you to increase the overall brightness of the scenes (many games are way too dim/gloomy for me), 2) you can click a button and switch to an enlarged view you can scroll over the scene, and 3) there are stars in the scenes which add to the number of clues you are allowed. All very nice features I wish became standard in these types of games. A slight downside is that the game "hand holds" you a bit. When you have accomplished the goal of a given scene (as, found all the objects or discovered the hidden object) it clearly shows you are done with the area AND adds a directional arrow pointing you where to go next. This may have been necessary due to the need to tell a narrative story in the proper order, but still makes you feel rather controlled. Overall, very nice game.

I've had troubles in the past installing these games but this time I went into my hidden icons (bottom right by the clock) and disabled everything I could and it installed fine. Hurray!
I played for about 15 minutes - it's a tricky game to grasp at first but once I tried a few things I could follow what to do (the instructions are not always easy to follow). I thought on one screen I was supposed to collect what looked like a bunch of matches scattered around but it didn't work - I clicked on the > button and moved on to the next scene. Looks like I'm in timed mode but I don't enjoy those - not sure how to get out of it and switch to relaxed? Nothing in the options.
I quite enjoy these types of games. Thanks so much for the offering. Looking forward to more of these.

To me, the game has a good balance between difficulty and relaxed gaming. His originalities keep my attention awaked.

Root Kapje, I agree. The small size of the file made it quick and easy to download. It was easy enough to keep going, but hard enough to keep my attention. I played until I finished it, and I'd like to play it again to see if anything changes when I make a different choice at the end. I found it quite enjoyable. The story is not presented verbally, they are only in printed comments. So if you turn off the sound as I do, no information is lost. Fun for a short period of relaxation.

very nice and tough game clues are hard to follow making it a challenge for all
graphics are good but really small when looking for items during hunt
could use larger
plus sign to expand and enlarge works but not enough to help old tired eyes
very interesting game story

After downloading, installing and activation without any problems I encounter a problem while starting the game. I get a little screen saying: "Error (v2,536) (null). An error occurred while loading. The application will now exit", which it does.
I will try the whole process again and see if I will be more successful :-)

Thank you for you comment. Your suggestions reminded me of the tip I got some time ago after another error and after ticking : disable adjust monitor with high DPI settings (properties, comptability) worked. The translation may be wrong, because I tick : "Beeldscherm aanpassen uitschakelen bij hoge DPI-instellingen". I never got the message I mentioned earlier before and didn't know the solution would be the DPI setting again. Thanks for the push in the right direction and enjoy your weekend :-)
