Colorful World is a 16 piece jigsaw puzzle with 15 different images to solve; on the theme of Colour and Christmas, that was released on Itch.io last week. The usual cost is $5, today it's free until tomorrow morning 9am UK time/4am EST/1am Pacific) via the game give away of the day site.

The Game:
Colorful Worldis a 16 piece square puzzle with fifteen images to solve. When you start the game you can see what key bindings and mouse controls are used by clicking on the Control button (see the second image above). The first button will show you all fifteen of the levels and you can from this scree select any puzzle to start with. Or click on the play button and work your way through each puzzle starting from the first one.

Along the top of each puzzle are five buttons, the first allows you to see what the image is; to cancel the image press the X in the top left of the screen. The second button turns music on (if it's off), the third button restarts the puzzles timer from the beginning; when this is done, all the pieces of the puzzle are shuffled and reoriented differently. The puzzle pieces are located to the left and right of the 4 x 4 grid; eight on each side. Once placed in the correct place puzzle pieces can still be moved, unlike some of the earlier puzzle pieces that once correctly placed locked in place. If you place a piece incorrectly it will not spring back to the periphery, but stay where it is on the grid i=until moved. Once a puzzle is completed, within a few seconds the next puzzle will open. Each puzzle is timed. There is no best times score board and when you leave the game on restarting, you will start from the beginning unless you select the level button. There is no indication whether or not you've previously completed a puzzle.

This puzzle looks more professional than some of the puzzles we've been getting from other developers recently and was created by GameREA.

Conclusion:
A nice puzzle game, though each image is relatively easy to complete and shouldn't take more than 2 minutes per puzzle, so at the most you'd get 30 minutes out of this game. The puzzles are a variety of colourful objects like fancy drinks bottles, christmas tree, baubles, coloured bulbs etc, with a large percentage of the puzzles having a Christmas theme. I enjoyed completing them, but there was no challenge due to the limited size of each puzzle. This game is probably ideal for younger children or those with severe learning disabilities.

Notes on Security
I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game using Virus Total and it found 2 hits (VBA32 & Zilliya) from 59 antimalware engines. Zillya & VBA32 are one of only several that often tag Falcoware games from all the others; most of which are better known and more reliable, i.e. 57 other antimalware engines found the installed game safe, so it's very likely to be a false positive.

The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcoware's home page after the game has installed and places four shortcuts onto your desktop (which can be safely deleted once the game has installed).

The installation does NOT inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcoware's home page following the games installation, it earns Falcoware games some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. Once you've installed the game, there are no more browser redirections. This is becasue Falcoware removed their installer over a year ago (that installer would show an advert for a game and then open your browser each time you played and then c;osed the game down.)

Fron Thursday 23rd September 4pm UK/11am EST, the next freebie will unlock called The Escapists - a unique prison sandbox experience with lots of items to craft and combine in your daring quest for freedom. Life in prison will keep you on your toes with the strict rules that you’ll have to break. The guards are out to stop any escape attempts, so you’ll have to avoid suspicious behaviour by attending roll calls, working a prison job and hiding your stolen craftables.
