Introduction:
In City Sights: Hello Seattle! you will explore the city and visit all its famous places of interest – challenging missions await you! At each level you’ll get a list with items to find with 3 levels of difficulty. The harder the list – the more points you’ll get. Cope with all the levels in the breathtaking game City Sights: Hello Seattle! and collect several trophies for each level of difficulty!
The Game:
Glad to have you on staff here at City Sights Magazine, kid, you do us proud! You’re a great reporter, you know why? Because you’ve a keen eye for detail. You walk into a room and right away see everything there is to see – nothing gets past you. Your next assignment: Seattle! Now, get out there and show us the sights!
In the new hidden object game City Sights: Hello, Seattle!, you’ll tour around the Emerald City, visiting various famous locations and scouring them for items of interest. Each location is beautifully rendered, bright, colorful and even fairly faithful to their real-world counterparts; you definitely won’t mind staring at them as you hunt for the items on your list. And oh, what a list it is.
003

004
For most spots, your list is divided into three categories: Easy, Medium, and Hard. The harder the item is to find, the more points you get for spotting it. The difficulty rating is a bit dubious, though. I usually had much tougher time finding the Medium items than the Hard ones, and some supposedly Easy ones were real stumpers.
Track down everything before time runs out, and it’s on to the next location. Though you’ll start off only having to find a handful of items to find in each location, soon you’ll have dozens of objects on your list. Some items can be tricky – "cone" might be an ice cream cone, a traffic cone, or a pine cone – but you can use as many rechargeable hints as you like to get through the level.
You might not want to, though. Hello, Seattle! has a rather ingenious set of trophies that you can earn in every level that provide an extra layer of challenge. At least three remain constant: Don’t use any hints, don’t suffer any penalties for incorrect clicks, and finish in under five minutes. Finishing levels with those three achievements gradually levels up three large trophies, but there are plenty of individual awards to win, too. You might have to find 10 particular items – cats, apples, birds – in a particular scene, or you may have to find items in the specific order they appear on the list. You might have to find all of the Hard items first, or earn 10,000 points.
005

006
If you blow a particular achievement, you can replay the level and try again. You’ll have a different list of objects to find, but just about everything is in the same place, so you’ll have a distinct advantage when you play for the second time.
Trying to earn all of the achievements in a given area is an incredibly addictive way to play the game, but even if you can’t quite finish in five minutes or you have to use a hint, don’t worry – you’ll still have plenty of gold in your trophy case. You win one award simply for clicking on the screen fifteen times, and another for moving your cursor "3 feet" on the screen. The achievements are, for the most part, completely optional, so feel free to ignore them if you’d rather play completely stress-free.
Sprinkled among the hidden object levels are a few spot-the-difference sections, which are just as polished, though not always as challenging. There’s no Easy-Medium-Hard breakdown for these levels, but the same trophy standards (no hints, finish fast, etc.) apply.

Conclusion:
Hello, Seattle! may seem like it’s a short game, but that’s only because you’ll probably find it so hard to stop playing it. It’s a wonderful take on the genre, and an enjoyable tour of a beautiful city, too. The achievements add an extra level of challenge for pros who want to test their hidden object might, but all hidden object game fans will enjoy this one.

Other Free Games
The latest game from Epic called The Lion's Song a narrative aventure game is now live HERE . Next weeks game that unlocks on the 20th May 21 hasn't been announced yet.

Please see Delenns threads for Steam and Non Steam freebies HERE and HERE respectively. It’s worth adding these to your favorites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, it’s yours to keep. Delenn has recently posted details of three Steam games that are temporarily free. One may be until it leaves early access??? - i.e. Tower Ball - Incremental Tower Defense plus The Dream Machine: Chapter 1 & 2 and Keyboard Killers. Two of which may end soon Tower Ball is Free to Play, but does have in game purchases; though there's no need to spend any money; it just takes longer to progress if you play the totally free version.

You'll find hundreds of freeware games of all arcade and indie genres on Itch.io and Caimans Games as well as other sources. Please do check out the game discussion forums for older posts HERE (the sticky section is useful). Many of the earlier posts may be out of date with respect to the links I and others have provided to the free games; however, you only need to know the name of the game to find most of them via other sources. Many of those games from 2008 to around 2017 were posted as part of a project to supplement the lack of weekday games when the game giveaway went to weekend only games around Easter 2008 (mainly instigated due to the financial crisis of 2008) until November 2018 when Falcoware stepped into the weekday slot; however, from around 2015 onwards we did start to get the occasional Steam key for various games offered as limited giveaways, with a restriction on the number of keys available (anywhere from 25 to 2000+). These included over 60 decent AAA games and indie arcade games ; for example some of the better AAA games included , lucky Warhammer: Vermintide 1 & 2 plus DLC for version 2; Dreadlands, Mount & Blade: Warband, Immortal Unchained and Conan Exiles.

I've not posted details of any Indie Gala freebies since my older computer went on the Fritz back in October last year. Since then Indie Gala have added quite a few more free games, some of which are definitely worth downloading. You can find the latest freebies HERE and their showcase list, which includes all the freebies still current; (many of which have been included for a couple of years now) HERE.

It’s worth adding these links to your favorites and checking regularly for available freebies. Most are only free for a specific time. If you miss the deadline you’ll miss out. Once added to your account, they are yours to keep. :)

Whiterabbit-uk, Thanks for the review and the screenshots proved what I suspected, I played this, but a long time ago. Seem to remember it being okay.

BobbyA,

Hi Bobby,

All MyPlayCity (MPC) games include very low level adware, which is not injected into your system. The adware is confined to the game and will not affect your computer. The giveaway versions from MPC have had most of the adware removed. The adverts allow the game to be given away for free because the distributor i.e. MPC split the earnings they get from the adverts with the developer.

Since the financial crisis back in 2008, when arcade game prices crashed from $20 to between $4 to $6 many small developers went bankrupt. This business model has become very popular since then because it enables developers to earn money from their games well after their sell by date.

Whiterabbit-uk, Yes, we've had this discussion before. I'm not saying MPC is evil for doing this, or a threat. I'm noting it because not all of their games offered here have triggered MB, some do. Perhaps MPC will notice and work out something with MB that doesn't cause some of their installations to be blocked. I appreciate your efforts, and offerings.

A fun and sometimes surprisingly challenging HOG which fans of the genre will love, assuming they didn't get this last time around!

Completely agree with ibwebb about WhiteRabbit's summaries of each game. I know that that kind of in-depth description takes time and effort to compile, and +1 from me for that and the consistently high quality!

We do read and appreciate them, Stephen! ;)

Cad Delworth,

Thanks Cad, appreciated. Some reviews take up a lot more time; depending upon whether I'm using other sources for the reviews or whether I'm writing a full review from scratch.

Whether I take the game or not offered on here and I have been following GAOTD for many many years, I do have to make a comment here on the game side. WhiteRabbit's review has and does always bring me back. It is informative about the game without being pushy in taking the game. He offers his opinion without being pushy and offering so much in informing of the game. I really hope that everyone appreciates his intense and open reviews of each game. I have no idea if he gets any compensation for what he does but to be honest even without knowing I can still say he is under compensated. There are many times I am on the wall about getting a game or not and his review/screenshots have made the difference. Just want to say I am a huge fan and look forward to reading his review of the giveaway. BRAVO WhiteRabbit!

ibwebb,

Thank you for your kind words they are very much appreciated. I am a volunteer, so do not get paid any money. That said; whenever there is one of those limited giveaways I usually get a key so that I can post a review. :)
