I did love this game----if I could advance. Guess I am not fast enough. The thing I HATE is if you lose one game, all your progress past the last butterfly disappears! I have worked on getting to the next butterfly for weeks! On my last game I played no balls in his hands matched any on the board! No matter how much I clicked to change his ball. So I lost once again.

i downloaded the game,it activated on web..played great ,the next day it said i needed to activate again ...tryed to activate but it said it was out of time..not very happy with this..as there is some problem with this site on its games ...there seems to be some type of code which is being monitered now...this is not the first time this has happend on this site with games..the code is not in english and that is why most virus and spyware can not confirm wat they catch..but it is good to now that they do..i dont think that this site is actually trying to spy ..but it does register the amount taken from site...i hope that they can sort out the problem with the activation.as it is not good when it connects directly to the net ...not many sites vissited and tested have activation like this...hopes this help the web..and customers.

Looked fun but couldn't get it to dowmload right. Tried 3 times.

I forgot to mention this but I've never had any problems with the games I download because they're 100% clean,make sure your activation codes are exactly the way they say if you have problems it's not the game's fault.All you have to do is check the codes with the one you copied and pasted with the one that says activation code:blah,blah,blah this happened to my brother and he found six mistakes.

I extracted the file on Feb.22, and didn't know I was supposed to input registration name and key. I just started playing the game today and like it. Is there anywhere in my installation where the key could be?

Surprised some folks are having shaking-screen problems. On mine the screen shakes less than 2 seconds on using a weapon or if lightening strikes, but stops immediately. Even the shaking that happens briefly after weapons/lightening is so slight I have to really look to see it, certainly nothing that could induce motion sickness! I played up to to and past levels where some people mentioned the constant shaking problem started for them. Still no problems here.

Possibly a compatibility issue. It may not run properly with certain video/graphic cards or conflicts with a running process that's not on everyone's computer. It may conflict with something that always loads in Windows Startup. Also note the minimum requirements to run, listed as: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP, 700MHz or faster processor, 128 MB RAM, DirectX 8.1 or later.

It could be DirectX needs updating if it's not 8.1 or higher, updating video drivers could help if they're not current, and the game wouldn't work with slower processors. Barring all that, there are instances where certain games and certain 3D screen savers just plain don't "like" certain video cards, for example the pre-installed ones that come with computers purchased as complete packages already set up with everything. If the buyer didn't choose to upgrade to a gaming-capable card they may get a generic one that doesn't work properly with all games and 3D screen savers, and won't know until they come across something that's not compatible.

Also note those just-bring-'em-home-and-plug-'em-in machines are notorious for having WAY too much crap in Windows Startup that loads every time the computer is started. If you have one of those computers and never checked the Startup folder there's likely things always running that you aren't aware of and have never used. That's one place to look if there's problems with certain programs and definitely the place to look if you find Windows crashing and requiring restarts when you didn't CHOOSE to restart. Try hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL with no programs open, then click the Processes tab. If you have to scroll through pages just to view your currently running processes then there's too much stuff in your Startup folder. But don't start ending processes unless you know what you're doing, get somebody offline to help clean the Startup folder.

So far no problems running any of the games here, but my machine was not purchased pre-setup. It's Frankenputer, built from the ground up with each component chosen and many upgrades along the way, and the Startup folder is kept lean and mean. ;)

Add another to the list of people with screen-shaking problems. Like #78, I'm not just encountering it after using a weapon. Each level starts off okay but starts to shake either (a) the first time that I use a weapon or (b) partway through clearing the first sequence of balls. I've managed to continue on and finish the level when that happens and the next level will behave the same way (fine at first, then shaking). The shaking is bad enough to cause motion sickness, rendering the game virtually unplayable. Too bad, as I really liked it otherwise. I'm afraid that I have to give it a thumbs-down.

Like commenter #69, I'm having trouble with a shaking screen, but mine just comes and goes. It always shakes a little with the lightning, pistols, etc., but only for a few seconds. But about half way through Stage 3, it started randomly shaking for really long periods of time. It hurts my eyes. At first I thought perhaps it was because the balls were getting close to the tree stump, but that's not it.

I really love the game, I hope I can figure out the problem.

I really enjoyed this program, I played it for a number of hours. I can see how children would like it, nd I like the fact it also is informative, because you learn about the butterflies as you save them. Thanks GGOTD!

I like the game aside from the shaking and the fact that many times it won't let me use a weapon even when I've earned a whole page full. Those are really nasty glitches.

I've downloaded the thing three time and everytime I try to ipen it says the file are invalid or corrupted. I also tried unzipping the folder and it said there were not any files....strange.Anyway I'd like to know what's up with that. hmmm....

#36, I had the same problem with the screen shaking. I closed out the game and re-started it since it was making me motion sick. That got rid of the shakes as long as I don't use any of the weapons.

Has anyone had any problems with this game?When I use the cannon or pistols the screen starts to shake and will not stop till I end the game and start over.This is kinda hard to continue when the screen is shaking my aim is not that good anyway and I don't need any help. lol

This is a very cute game, unfortunately the screen shaking is making my eyeballs bounce and giving me a headache. Will let the son try, but will probably be an uninstall for us. thanks anyway.

If you can't do paste and copy stuff (Sorry Guys haven't got it down yet!)it is very possible to get these games entering by hand (even with your new kitten jumping on the keys!). Just take a breath, go slowly and enter it one step at a time. The name to enter is Game Giveaway of the Day (a new one!!). Watch the capitalization! The alphanemeric key has some zeros, not Os, take it one section at a time and don't forget the spaces (-). If it rejets, it IS your fault! If you can't see the mistake, just wipe it out and re-enter. Take your time ... you have over 3 hours. And yes, the game is very worth the trouble, whether you have kids or not. I have been playing Bubble Xmas every night since we got it and all that practice makes this one a great step up! If you still can't get it write back - help is here! for whatever reason , it wont work on my computer. my husband has futzed and it wont work. no matter what it shuts down my computer and when it comes back up it always wants to do disc check. ( we have gotten copies from both mirrors and replaced old several times, same result )

First star blaze and then this game, this has been a great downloads week.

Ok, downloaded fine. Ignored the PUP. Seems like it installed fine. Will not execute (start). When I look for the file there is none, it is looking for Butterflyescape.exe. It doesn't exist! Uninstalled and re-downloaded, again installed fine, chose the add desktop icon - still won't load due to non-exsistant file.

Help .... any suggestions.

A 3D-ish version of Zuma. Nice! As if I wasn't addicted to these kind of games already. Definitely will download.

Not too bad at all. I tired of games like this a long time ago...so many copies of Zuma that I avoided them after a time of playing them too much but I thought, this is free so I'll have a look. Well I just spent the last hour or so playing it and it is definitely an improvement on a theme.

it looks like fun..sigh, i cant get it to install and my program does not give me a copy option, only select all..and it shuts down my 'puter..i will ask my husband to futz with it as he is more patient than i.(i have tried 5 diff. times and am ready to throw out my 'puter )

I like how they stole all their ideas from Zuma.

I've played a few of the other games from Genimo Interactive and I've come to the conclusion that they are utterly terrible at producing good games.

good game - for kids it's perfect. for older gamers better will be zuma.

PUP = Possibly Unwanted Program

McAfee is identifiying a PUP because of the game's online multiplayer module. When you click Start Game, if you choose Tournament it's playing against others online. Possibly Unwanted Program doesn't mean spyware, adware, malware, and definitely not a virus. It's an alert about something some users may not want, some people don't want multiplayer games on their computer. The game is fine though, I scanned it with several anti-virus and anti-spyware/adware programs and there's nothing bad in in any of the files including the multiplayer module. All clean.

I uninstalled it and installed it again. Nothing this time. Works fine, good game.

Wonder what that PUP was though, because i pressed trust this PUP.

McAfee said there was a PUP in it. Downloaded anyway, looks good, im installing now.

Why does my McAfee identify this as an unwanted PUP? Couldn't install it so can't comment.

As some are still having problems, another note on registration method. This is really nothing new. It's the way ALL shareware was registered years ago, before telephone registrations or automatic internet activation. After sending payment developers would email a key code to be copy/pasted into the appropriate field, and users would type their own name into the "name" field. In this case registration name MUST be Game Giveaway of the Day, entered exactly that way. Can't put any other name in there as the key code is connected to that name only, just like it was many times in the past.


Re #25 Ken:
Copy/paste the reg. name and key code, don't type it manually. Typos are too easy and even one means registration will not work, like leaving out the spaces in Game Giveaway of the Day, capitalizing the "o" in "of", or separating "Giveaway" into two words. Forget about trying to type the key code, lots of potential for typos there! Sometimes it helps to walk away from something and come back later, avoids the possibility of making the same simple mistake over and over without realizing. We've all been there! ;) Hope you will try again, you may think "this is not that good of game" but it's possible your daughter might think otherwise.

Windows sometimes puts spaces at the beginning or end of a paste even when those spaces weren't there on the text that was copied. Make sure there's no spaces at the beginning or end when copy/pasting the reg. info.
