Bloom: Share Flowers with the World

In Brief

Bloom: Share Flowers with the World is a A time management game of the dash type. It's basically the samegame as the Valentines edition given away two weeks ago, minus the love theme. This version was released about two weeks before the Valentine edition.

Introduction:

Bloom! is a time management game that takes place in Jasmine's flower shop where she plants, harvests, gathers and arranges flowers from sunrise to sunset. Play through over 60 levels as you create custom bouquets for each customer who enters. You'll earn tokens used to upgrade parts of the shop, hire assistants, expand and compete with rivals, but more importantly, you'll get to see how your customers' lives are changed by the simple act of sharing some flowers.

Over a century ago, Japanese scholar and artist Kakuzo Okakura said it best: "In joy or sadness, flowers are our constant friends."

47 kinds of item upgrades to buy!
17 customers with their own life stories.
6 countries to build your flower shops in!

If you wish to see the problems section, which I've now incorporated into the FAQ's thread you can find it HERE and the recent games deals (now called The Weekly roundup of game deals) is HERE. I've still to post the installation section. Will do so later. In the meantime, if you have problems installing the game, do post a comment, thank you.

The Game:

Like many Time Management games, there is not much of a storyline in Bloom!. Instead, the game focuses on occupying players with a handful of tasks to complete simultaneously and a line of customers ready to be serviced. If you are familiar with Dash-style type of games, the Sally's franchise and alike, then finding your way around Bloom! would be extremely easy for you.

Bloom! Share flowers with the World is one of those traditional Time Management games that refuses to progress. It has a classic gameplay, drag your customers around the shop and provide them with the services they want. As you work your way around the flower shop, there will be some pop-up mini-games complete along the way. One feature that slightly differs Bloom! from other games of its kind is the Flower Garden at the bottom right of the screen. The flower supply at the Flower Station does not refill automatically, you need to plant, water and cut the flowers from the garden in order to refill the supply. At the end of each level, you can use the money you earn from the level to buy upgrades and power-ups.

Apart from completing the level and reaching the target income on time, you also have a competitor in the local city to compete with. Again, this feature has been introduced before in Juliette's Fashion Empire so we are not particularly thrilled about it, although it is a pleasant little addition. The game featured 60 levels, spread across six different big cities. The level progressively gets more difficult, which offers avid Dash-fans enough challenges to deal with.

Bloom level 1

bloom regular chair

Presentation wise, Bloom! is incredibly old-school. The graphics are hand-drawn cartoons and the characters look neither modern nor attractive. The music is fun and upbeat, but nothing to rave about. In addition, the game does not even offer a Custom Cursor selection and the Widescreen support is a dull patterned bar on each side of the screen.

To conclude, Bloom! Share flowers with the World is lovely and fairly enjoyable. Even though the artwork does need a major modernization and the gameplay could benefit from some more creative features.

Conclusion:

If you like the more traditional dash time management games this is for you. The levels get successively harder as you progress. Ideal for those who like a challenge. The first level includes a tutorial for newcomers to the genre as well as a reminder to those who haven't played the game in a while. Ideal for confident beginners and experts alike.
p.s. I failed on the first two levels lol

The graphics on this one look crude to the point of being dissappointing. But seems worth a try. Thanks GGOTD and e-Fun Soft/Big Fish.

Hi All
This what i've discovered with the recent two weeks of games.
They dont work on W10 with 64bit - you get a white screen only
They work slower on W10 with 32 bit but still good
They work fine on w7 32bit and W8.1 32 bit
So it would seem to be that the 64 bit computers may be the problem.
I'm not computer savvy enough to have a solution though - sorry.

Hi Krystal, I've installed all the games posted recently on two Win 10 computers and have never had issues with any game; all work perfectly on Win 10 64 bit.

It's more likely that something on your computer is conflicting with the games, or with the giveaway installation process - first port of call would be your security (due to the giveaway wrapper utilizing Themida code for protection), then try updating your graphic drivers. If those fail, Check the event logs to see if any error messages have been left immediately after trying to install or run the giveaways.

As I haven't had this problem, it's hard for me to figure out what the problem is. I tend to fault find by going through a set of fixes I've used and know work for the issues I've come across in the past, for example, the ones already mentioned, defragging my hard drives (as a badly fragmented drive can cause problems), clearing the internet cache, rebooting my computer and/or routers, updating other outdated drivers, closing down unneeded programs to free up RAM (though over the past several years this has been low priority as I rarely use even 50% of the RAM I have, both system and graphic RAM). Running Game Booster can help with this problem as well as possibly closing down a program that may be conflicting with the game. Oh yes, I nearly forgot,
check to see if the resolution you have your monitor set to is native to the game.

Hopefully someone will come up with a definite fix soon

Have no problems installing on Win 10 64. My user account has Administrative permissions. If your account does not, you can right click and "Run as administrator."

Often times the culprit of computer problems is Antivirus SW. Most have a "potentially unwanted programs" settings that blocks SW that behaves like a potential virus. I always turn that feature off. AV SW can go bad, too. McAfee and Norton are notorious for gumming up computers.

Run an antivirus boot scan a couple times a year. Caution, this could take hours.

It sounds as though you ran scandisk cmd.

As for memory - games use a lot of memory. A good gaming PC would have 12g memory and a dedicated video card with 4g or more.

As Whiterabbit has frequently recommended in other giveaway's Krystal, I would also check to see if your video card or onboard chip driver needs to be updated. That would fit the scenario of working on your 32 bit computer, but not on your 64, which may need a video driver update.

Hi Stephen This is a brand new out of the box w10 computer - no problem with the drive or defragging or out dated drivers.
Previously no problem with the giveaway wrapper and the program installed properly yesterday on 2 other computers at the same time.
No error messages, I also shut down other programs and turned off security.
It seems I'm not the only one with the white screen program.
This is not a complaint - just hope it helps with the trouble shooting.
by the way, it seems to have started with the current publisher - just a thought.

Hi Krystal, see my reply to your reply to The Watcher. Basically I said, even though your computer is only two weeks old, it does not necessarily mean the components making up the computer are two weeks old. The motherboard for example may be months or even a year or more old, depending on what you purchased. If the computer has an on-board graphic chip, the graphics driver will have been installed using the motherboards driver disk that comes packaged with the motherboard and is more than likely not going to be the latest drivers available. If the computer has a separate graphics card, the drivers will have been installed using the disk that comes packaged with the card, again the age of the driver will depend on the model and generation used. Just because the computer was purchased only two weeks ago, if it was an off the shelf computer, it may have been there for months, if it was a custom built computer, it may not have the latest components in it. To get a new computer with the latest components and assuming you've chosen the top specs for all of the components you can talk in the region of £3000 or more.

Do you know what the model and model number of the motherboard used in the construction of your computer, and if it has a separate graphics card, which one is it? Computer builders do not necessarily use the latest cards, which can be very expensive.

When I build my last computer 4 years ago I paid over £1600 just for the two graphics cards, and those were not the top of the range (NVidai GTX 580's), nor where the drivers that came with the disk the latest ones.. I've since upgraded those cards, which are now over 4 years old to a newer model which again cost me almost £800 and it was already a generation out of date. I've actually built two more computers since the one I mention above, but those were for my children and were not as high spec.

You can check what the model of your graphic card is using the DX diagnostics panel (type DXdiag in the search field). To find out what your motherboard model number is you can either open the case and look at the motherboard or use the free speccy program , which lists all of your computers hardware:

hi watcher13
should i have to update a brand new computer's video driver/card? - i had the computer made/ customized two weeks ago and have used it for one week. I would have thought everything would be up to date. It also doesnt fit the scenario since the w7 (which installed great) should be the one needing an update not the w10.

......................................Moderator Comment.......................................

If the builder of your computer used the disk that is packaged with the graphics card, or if the computer is using an on-board graphics chip (meaning the driver will have been installed using a motherboard disk), the drivers found on the disk are more likely to be older than the latest ones available, even if your computer was purchased two weeks ago, it doesn't mean you have the latest drivers because the disks that are packaged with the components that the builder used to build your computer may not necessarily be the latest cards or motherboards etc. Graphic cards and motherboards always come packaged with a disk that contains all of the drivers needed, but these usually are not the latest drivers because even if the motherboard was only manufactured a few months ago, graphic drivers are being upgraded almost on a monthly basis.

Whiter screen??

To those getting a white screen, try the following fix posted by Lisa yesterday:

Quote: 'If you get a white screen at first, or clicking "anywhere" to begin minimizes it, just close it out and open it again.'

Reply   |   Comment by fatfreddy  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

The fix is not helping as there is no button to click on minimize the window. Sometimes you can shut it down with the Task Manager, sometimes not. With yesterdays game I had 2 x to totally override the laptop and push the on-/off button to shut it down as nothing else was working.

Also when the white window opens all the other open programms or features start looking like under Win3.11 back in the day. As soon as the windows is closed the other windows look normal again.

I use Win10 Home (had to check first as I wasn't sure what I have).

Tried that, waited and waited, clicked and clicked. Maybe i'm doing something wrong but
it didnt minimise or anything. Its just a plain white screen with no options to click on anything, i had to use the task manager to get out of the program.
Opened it again - still white screen. Sorry that doesnt seem to help me.

I have no children at home and do not play this type of game, but at the same time I understand that among the readers, are readers with children and who appreciate that there is a typical children's games now and then.
Just skip and wait for the next game!

Can't extract to install !

.......................Moderator comment...............................

Check the event log to see if there is any messages that will give you a clue as to why you can't install. Possibly your security software blocking installation due to the Themida wrapper. See the links in my review (to the problems thread) to the forums where I explain why this can happen

It seems to install fine, and even says activation successful, so its not the security software blocking installation due to the Themida wrapper.
But when you try to open the game, its just a white screen.

Thank you for the game. seems like fun. As with the earlier game, Valentine's edition, this one also give a white screen. I forgot about it. I suppose my laptop Surface Pro 4 is too advanced for these games? So glad that Royal Envoy, Campaign for the Crown does work, because I really love the series and am still playing it. Hopefully next week's game will be compatible again. I continue being very grateful for all the great games I could download all the years. It is just too bad my PC crashed and I lost a lot of good games. Luckily this site is still in the air and I can start a new collection of games again. Keep up the good work and thanks again.
