I don't really play platform games anymore but I found this review on Steam by Reinhardt: Posted: May 26, 2018

For a game that was published in 2016, it’s … pretty bad. The story behind Bibou is basically about a ‘strange’ guy named Boss who plans on stealing the yellow stones set on the island, which would then lead to Foreigners invading the island. The grandfather, who is telling the tale tells Bibou (us) to get the stones. The plot lacks a lot of content, and leaves too many holes imo to make much of a difference in the overall experience.
The game, like any other collect-a-thon platformer, requires players to collect all items in order to advance to the next level; except that all levels are readily accessible upon starting the game, hence destroying the purpose. You can also play between Easy and Normal difficulty, but why isn’t there a Hard? Seems unorthodox.
Then you have “Modes” such as rain, rotate and star, that may add some interesting effects and animations during the gameplay. To me, though, they were superfluous. Another issue that I found is that Bibou is not supported by steam overlay, hence destroying options such as taking screenshots and broadcasting.
The animation isn’t any better. 2D Pixel art does come with minimal motions and animations, and the entire screen itself does not fit the average PC screen. [Mine is 1366x768.] However, the music is quite jazzy and energetic all around. It may be repetitive, but can really lift up one’s spirits!
But audio alone, isn’t one thing that can determine the playability of a game. Poor execution of content such as plot, and the levels are what ruined the experience. I do not recommend playing this game.
