The planet looked very beautiful. Why not go down and see. Only after descending from the spacecraft and starting to admire unknown plants how did they hear the sound. The sound of footsteps. The planet turned out to be alive. The monsters hiding in the caves attacked you. Now only by destroying them can you get on the ship.

In Brief
is a first person arena shooter

The Game
Beautiful Planet is based around the Unity engine and is a first person zombie/monster shooter that is similar to the last thirty or so shooters we've received from this developer since last summer. You get a selection of several weapons, which can be accessed via the mouse wheel or the number keys.

Game play is similar to most of Jurij's previous giveaways, where you explore and attempt to survive a single arena, where monsters attack you constantly. Though you can avoid them most of the time by running in circles around the rock formations. There are no waves like some of the previous games (e.g. Horror Windmill 1 & 2), instead monsters respawn randomly. Once you've figured out where all the ammo and health packs spawn, it's relatively easy to survive until you get bored. You start with a fairly low supply of ammo from the outset, but you can easily find more ammo scattered around the arena. Hover over these and press F when the hand appears. You start with 100 health; the first health pack you pick up gives you 20+ health, thereafter you get a 25+ health boost; health packs are stackable up to a maximum health of 200.

Key bindings are not editable; and you can access a list of the key bindings via F1; e.g. WASD or Arrows for movement, space for jump, mouse wheel for weapon selection G for grenade, C for crouch, R for reload. To gauge the size of this arena, If you run around the perimeter, it takes about 60 seconds.

You can adjust the quality of the graphics from low, medium and high. It’s mainly down to shadows and shading; the higher the quality, the more shading and shadows.

If you don't have many FPS/zombie games and/or you missed all the previous ones, it's possibly worth downloading (depending on how much you really want a FPS game of this quality; don't expect Battlefield/Call of Duty graphics. One of my favourite FPS games from 2004 i.e. Men of Valor, a Vietnam shooter, looks far superior to this game graphically. That said, with the right assets you can create decent Unity games, though developers tend to go for game engines like the Unreal Engine for budget shooters rather than the Unity engine.

I scanned a zipped copy of the installed game and it found zero hits from 61 antimalware engines. The downloaded executable may include some low level adware that only opens your browser to Falcowares home page after the game has installed, but does not inject any malware into your system. When your browser is opened to Falcowares home page it earns them some money, part of which is given to the developer of the game for allowing the game to be given away free. My *guess* would be that's it's less work, time & effort to (re)use as much of the programming code as possible, e.g. use the 1st game as a sort of template, change up the character(s) & appearance, and you've cranked out another game.

Perhaps the next game will be about the female monsters, who go out afterwards to mop up all the spilled monster blood? I don't suppose the males will do it.
