Just a note of caution: When I installed it, it tried to install DirectX. Since I don't want DirectX activated on my computer, I cancelled the installation of DirectX and then deleted the game. No problem with that, but then Firefox caused an error on startup, several times. Rebooting did not remove the problem, but reinstalling Firefox did.

Yesterday and today both I waited patiently for the rather large files to download only to discover that Direct X is also part of the package. I've already got Direct x, so why include it and cause extra download time - I'm talking 7am - 4pm on a slow dialup (time estimated, I actually started sooner and finished later). I liked yesterdays game ok, my 10 yoDD who loves farm life (we have one) thinks the game is great. Only just finished installing this one - I think the 12yo dd will like it. I'm not complaining, I just think that if Direct X is part of the requirements, it shouldn't have to be included in the download and reinstalled again and again on my computer.

I love the games but the file sizes are just to big. Like yesterdays I really wanted that game the My Farm and I really want this one but I am on dial up and it takes way to long. Please fix it to where people on dial up can download the good games to. I waited 1 hr yesterday and it had only downloaded 10mb of 60mb I am not even going to waist my time anymore.

I find playing the goats to be extremely easy at all 3 levels. Playing the tigers seems much harder... took me a long time to win even at easy with Tigers (although twice I forced draws, which the rules say count as wins for Tigers but the game doesn't actually recognize)

Frequent readers of this site: I believe the thumbs up/down are hit by those who don't even download the game I suspect. I wish that were different.

This board game was unknown to me prior to this and I really am challenged by it. The graphics and logic are excellent. Playing as tigers or goats has a totally different objective. Even the easy mode took me 10 - 12 games to win as goats. When I switched to tigers, the goats whipped my butt! It gave me a new perspective and new ideas for strategies and my game improved. Knowledge of other chase and prey games is helpful, but it is unique. I like the premise and learning games from other cultures is always interesting. Thanks GGotD for all the recent opportunities to do so.

To the developers (and BiP):
1. Thank you for the excellent description of the game and screenshots. They truly help me make a decision on whether or not to download from here these days. (Ahem! GGotD)
2. Why is there an option of music but I can't hear it in anything but the intro? Seems a waste, it's lovely and matches the game well. Perhaps you include it during the game in subsequent releases?

I keep running into a "stale-mate" with this game. Either goat move, tiger eats, or goat go back and forth on the few spaces it has. Anyone else run into this? With chess when you have a potential stale-mate situation you have 25 moves to avoid a stale-mate.

Yes, I'm French, and I prefer use French speaking softwares INSTEAD of English when I can. But of course, I don't pretend to make everybody prefer French speaking softwares.
When it is possible, I would like GAOT/GGAOT to give softwares in French (especially when they are developped in France :)) IN ADDITION to English versions so as I can use it INSTEAD !

Another excellent game from Exotic games curtesy of the game giveaway team. And another keeper for me. As I mentioned the other day; I enjoy playing games from around the world, especially if they are challenging; as this one is to my average mind.

The interface is well presented and the graphics are cool. Simple to learn and definitely a time filler between bigger games, or just as a much needed break from whatever.

I love the start up music. It would have been nice to have it playing in the background while playing; but that's not meant to be a negative as I can always play something via media player :)

You can play against the computer or online via the internet or via a LAN, which is a great plus, especially if you have friends that download this game as well.

The options menu has the usual music and sound effects sliders as well as the ability to toggle between 3D and 2D. I cancelled the installation of DX 9c as I already have it, and it plays fine, so my versions I already have must be compatible with the game.

You can change the music by going to the game folder and selecting the folder data then sons. Inside you will find an ogg file which could be changed for your preferred music, but you will have to convert it to ogg first, then rename it to intro.

PS : I saw that exotic-games (http://www.exotik-games.com/index.php?lang=FR) products (bagh chal, xou-dou qui and surakarta) exist in French. Is it possible to have them in French instead of English ?

I really like this one, which is really brain challenging (maybe too much maybe).
Really nothing similar with chess. Would you say chechers is a chess like just because it is played with pawns?
(That's beeing said, a good chess program would be a great GGAOTD !)

This one is really good, and I think I will spend many hours with it. A absolute keepers.

I dunno, rob could be using some form of time manipulation. I wouldn't rule it out. Personally though, I think he's just really high.

As to the game... I think I'll pass. Not a big fan of chess variants, which is what this seems to be.

#1 and 2# there is no that you downloaded and played this game for 10 hours after it have been on here less than 45 minutes..

this is a great game i have been playing it for a short while and i still haven't been able to capture those tigers even on the easy level. thank you merscom and GGAOTD keep em' comin'!!!!

I don't care what anyone says...this place is great. Yes, sometimes the games suck, but THEY ARE FREE and this site does get a good one in there once in a while..
