Whiterabbit-uk, Sorry to hear you have the lurgi. :( I've managed to avoid it so far (touch wood!). Get well FAST, as a late friend of mine used to say.
Looks like another fun HOG, so I'm off to grab it now. Thanks as ever to ToomkyGames and GGOTD for this one. :D

Whiterabbit-uk,
Hope your covid is mild and you recover quickly. The thing about the tests, anecdotally (including self) testing at first symptoms was neg, 3 days later positive.
Wishing you all the best

"The first lateral flow test taken was negative..."
The lab tests are accurate -- the at-home tests, not so much. One of their advantages, besides convenience, is the immediate results -- if positive you can start Paxlovid within the 5 day window when it's effective. Family members that haven't yet become infected should continue to test. Antihistamines *may* help, particularly with some of the less usual symptoms [e.g. rash] &/or long-term COVID, should you be unfortunate enough to suffer that.
As always, best wishes continue.

Whiterabbit-uk, get well soon!!! I couldn't get your links to the previous giveaways to work, so here they are for others who were having the same problem - https://game.giveawayoftheday.com/ashley-clark-secret-of-the-ruby/ and https://game.giveawayoftheday.com/ashley-clark-secret-of-the-ruby-2/
As is often the case with Toomky games, although XP is listed as a supported OS, trying to run the game via the installed shortcut throws up the "Not a valid Win32 application" error. But you can get it to run if you know the "shortcut" trick...

Just a note to say that the two "here" links to where the game was given away previously are not working. The link to BigFish forum reviews is working, didn't try but one of those links.
As for me, I'll skip it based on there being far more "minigames" than HO scenes. I play them to get a hidden object adventure story, not to constantly be annoyed with goofy brain teaser puzzles. (Hilariously, some reviews felt it was a "good mix" of Hidden Object (HO) and puzzles- really? 15 HO to *23* puzzles is a good mix?? Dont bother calling it a HO game, it's a brain teaser/puzzle game with a few HO added in. <>
If that's what you like, go for it.
As always, thanks for offering daily free games.

Today's hidden object game is a decent and I might add refreshing change from the previous game Dr Jekyll and Hyde that was given away not too long ago. I actually felt relaxed playing this game and it was visually easier to find hidden objects on the screen versus some of the other giveaways that we had recently of the hidden object variety.
Was impressed by the voice acting inside the game and the animation of the cut scenes. We're not talking fancy gamer graphics here but for a hidden object game it's very respectable. These are real time rendered scenes and not pre-recorded MPEG clips I've found in some games.
The game has multiple difficulty levels for those people who may take longer to find the items or have a hard time solving the puzzles. Click too many times on the screen and you will see a reddish haze on the screen. A meter at the center bottom of the screen counts your clicks and when it fills up you are on a cool down period.
I played on the easy level so hammering away the mouse took some effort to purposely fill that meter. I am unsure if it's less lenient in other difficulty levels. I'd have to go back and try.
Unfortunately on my laptop, the in game cursor got laggy for me so I had to turn it off which did not affect the flow of the game it just made the game run more smoothly.
If you like hidden object games and you want to find them on the cheap, Steam has some of them that often go on sale for 49 cents from various publisher and comparable in quality to some of the giveaways we've had here.
For more freebies, be sure to checkout the Epic Games Store where Killing Floor 2 is being given away until July 14th. Also on that same day, they will be offering a Sega classic, Wonder Boy the Dragons trap.
Finally for those of you die hard XBOX 360 Fans, Microsoft will end freebies with your Gold membership in October meaning you won't get anymore free games period. Your membership would only be good in this instance to play your current games online. I'm not sure how this is going to affect the membership of XBOX One as a lot of the titles given away were backwards compatible. I'm wondering since I have an XBOX One if I'm going to get fewer games like XBOX 360 did.....
Anyhow everyone enjoy today's game! It's going to be a busy day around the house.
