An absurdly funny visual novel.

After the big cataclysms, many people escaped to live in the catacombs. But all valuable resources remained on the surface. A lot of people set out on their own to gather what they need, and it's every man for himself. Try to survive and return with the loot.

This is not a game. It is ONE level in a game. Slow, sluggish, erratic. Illogical controls.

Yo,

It's why I keep saying the developer should release the whole bunch of games he's released that are basically one level as a complete package. As it is, he charges $5 per game over on itch.io . He's released almost 20 of these games now. At $5 each, that's almost $100. You can get two decent shooters that have had a lot of development and far superior graphics and exciting game play for that price.

Apocalypse City Arena is another game from the developer Jurri. We've had several over the five months, all of which are similar with respect to the mechanics and game play. The main difference has been the environments.
You can see a couple of videos of game play HERE and HERE
The game is single arena style level that plays over and over with no ending until you die, then you start from the beginning again. The aim is to survive as long as you can. Once you become familiar with the game, i.e. know where all the ammo and health packs respawn, it becomes quite easy to survive almost indefinitely. Pressing F1 will bring up a list of all the key bindings (see the seventh image below), which are quite extensive. Unfortunately you cannot rebind any keys. You get a selection of weapons accessed either via your mouse wheel or the number keys. You start with limited ammunition in each weapon; but you'll find ammo scattered around the arena/level either as ammo packs or weapons. There are also health packs, which are cumulative and can extend past the usual 100 health. To pick them up, place your mouse pointer over the ammo pack/health pack and press F to pick them up.
Personally I think that if all the different games we've received from Jurri; i.e. Colony of Mars, Dangerous Wasteland 2, Death In Fog, Unknown Enemy, Dangerous Dungeon 1 & 2, Sinister City, Dead Ruines, Alien City Defender, Monsters In District 1 & 2, House In Woods, Dangerous Killers 2, Space Colony, Witches 1 & 2, Dangerous robots and Danger Desert were combined into a single game, with each original game becoming a level, it would be a far better game. As the game stands, it becomes a little tedious after several minutes as there is little to keep you gripped by the game once you've killed 20 or so monsters as the environment isn't that large. That said, it's an ideal coffee break game. It's not Battlefield V (which incidentally is amazing), but it s okay in small doses.

p.s. don't forget to check out the Epic game store. This weeks free game is the excellent Jurassic World: Evolution (similar to the tycoon series of games) and from tomorrow (7th January) we will get Crying Suns, a tactical rogue-lite that puts you in the role of a space fleet commander as you explore a mysteriously fallen empire.
Stay safe everyone.
