Diane Easterday,
Hi Diane, please excuse the delay in replying. I've been offline for over two weeks after my computer died on me. I've literally just installed Windows, though I've still to reinstall all the programs I generally use. although this giveaway has now ended, you may get a similar warning when installing other games that we get via Falcoware. I've installed virtually every game they have given away since they joined the team back in Nov 2018 apart from the last couple of weeks due to the issue I mentioned above. I've never had any issues with any of their games. What you are seeing is a false positive.
The giveaway team have been giving games away since Dec 2006 totalling over 2000 games and have never given away a game infected with malware. The games we get via Falcoware used to include the Falcoware installer, which was loaded with non invasive, low level adware that advertised their games and redirected your browser to their home page whenever you closed the game down (this was so that they couple pay the developer of the games that we downloaded from the advertising revenue they earned every time your browser was redirected to their site).
What your security is detecting is likely to be remnants of that adware, which does not install to your system, and is only active when you are installing the game. Basically it opens your browser to Falcoware's home page. Now that the installer has been removed; once installed, there is 'no' more browser redirections or adverts when you boot the game up; i.e. the game is free from any malware.
Apart from the last few weeks I've downloaded virtually every game ever given away from this site and the only reason I've not downloaded the last several games is because I'm using someone else's computer temporarily while I complete my rebuild; which incidentally should be completed soon. :)
