If you click on the initial spalsh screen it will take you to the developers site

    In Brief:

Youda Farmer is an hectic Time Management game with excellent graphics and decent game play. You will need to be a dedicated TM fanatic to really love this game; that said, its still very playable and that’s from someone (me) who doesn’t like most TM games. :)

    Scores out of 10

Youda Farmer downloads to a 41.7 MB zip file that unpacks to a read me and a wrapped setup activation file (the orange colored file with the key symbol), plus there’s a setup file with security (setup.gcd) that’s protected from being hacked. This file may case some security software to alert the user to a possible malware attack, but it will be a false positive.

The game giveaway team check all game giveaways for malware using several well known anti -malware suites. There has never been a game giveaway infected with malware since the project started back in Dec 2006. Some community members have been having problems installing gam,es since the security software was added. It’s been found that turning off your security or configuring it to accept the setup.cgd file sorts the problem out. The installed game is 36.4 MB in size. and installs to:

by default but can be changed to suit whatever your wishes are. There is no uninstaller, but this game is free standing so to delete just remove the installed folder from your hard drive. No shortcuts are installed so you will have to create your own which as most of you know is easy an easy process (right click on the games executable then select ‘Send to’ then from the drop down menu select ‘Desktop (create shortcut) ). If you want to create a start menu/programs folder you’ll need to find the appropriate folders via your account. Once the game is installed you can delete the giveaway setup files.

I’ve only tested the game on Win 7 this time around, Anyone running Win 8, Vista or XP, please confirm whether this game works Thanks.

If you miss the giveaway or have problems installing the game is available 24/7 from MyPlayCity HERE

Welcome to the game Youda Farmer! It will definitely make you realize that cooperation is the key to success. Now it’s time to establish a mutually profitable partnership with the butcher and with the grocer as well as with the baker and start supplying them with whatever they need. For this you need to become a universal farmer who is able to grow vegetable and fruits, to take care of cattle, to breed hens and chickens, to gather eggs, and even to fish! Are you ready to become a universal multitasking farmer? If yes then download Youda Farmer and get started right away! It’s time to become a super person! First and foremost, choose the gender of the character you are going to play for and select the color of your truck. What you need to do is to collect the products on your farm, put them in your truck and deliver to the village nearby. To pick some product just click and drag it to a crate. Complete all the farming duties but don’t forget to upgrade your farm regularly. In accordance with the number of credits you manage to get from your partners you can purchase a compost grinder to speed up tomato productivity, a food processor to speed up productivity of eggs, a harvesting machine or a bigger and faster truck to deliver products without a delay. You can add a chicken coop or a pig stable to make your household more equipped. There are many ways to get upgraded. Your farm occupies a great patch of land so refer to the map to be able to keep the whole farm under your control. Download Youda Farmer and enjoy!

    The Game:

Youda Farmer has a lot going for it: above average graphics, realistic sound effects, and gameplay that puts a new twist on farm-themed time management games. There’s one problem, though: unless you use a very specific strategy that involves lining up actions ahead of time, the pace will become hopelessly hectic by level six or so.The game’s tutorial doesn’t bother to explain this, which is a shame because a lot of frustrated people will no doubt give up on the game prematurely. Once you’ve mastered the right technique, however, Youda Farmer is perfectly playable and definitely worth a look.

You’ll start by choosing the color of your truck, and your gender (your character can be male or female). There’s no story, so you’ll jump right into the action, a two-part process that involves harvesting various goods around the farm such as flour, eggs and tomatoes, and then delivering them to town on your truck and selling them to the local shop owners. When an order appears at the bottom of the screen, clicking on it causes the screen to scroll to the area of your farm that you need to interact with in order to fill the order. Clicking an egg, for example, will scroll to the chicken coop. As the chickens produce eggs, you’ll have to drag them into open crates so that they’ll be loaded onto the truck as it rolls by. You can click ahead and fill more orders while waiting for earlier ones to be filled; in fact, this is essential for keeping up with the game’s hectic pace. If you don’t click fast enough, orders will disappear. If you drop too many orders, you’ll have to try the level over again.

Gameplay is similar in town; here, you click on each merchant to send the truck to their store, and then click on specific pieces of produce that appear in thought bubbles above their heads to deliver it. Finally, you must click on the coins that are left behind – again, you have to be quick or both the goods and the coins will disappear. Yep, it’s a whole lot of clicking.Collecting enough randomly-appearing “party produce” – literally, food wearing party hats – allows you to participate in a bonus level where you have to click on produce as the truck drives around. If you’re one of those people who gets motion sick due to scrolling screens, beware! It’s a reflex-based click fest that might frustrate people with slower reflexes, but it’s just a bonus level that gives you a chance to earn some extra credits and has no bearing on your actual progress.

By delivering goods and stringing bonus chains together (i.e. collecting three or more of the same kind of produce in a row), you earn credits to upgrade the farm. Adding a chicken coop, for example, lets you collect eggs, which means that the baker in town can upgrade his store to make cakes, and buying a pig stable results in a grocery store appearing in town where the grocer can serve breakfasts of bacon and eggs to the villagers. You can also invest in more efficient harvesting machines, more crates, a larger and faster truck, and even a new paint scheme for the truck (I was partial to hot pink).Where Youda Farmer shines the most is in its graphics. The environments are detailed and sound effects are realistic – you’ll enjoy hearing the realistic chug of the truck’s engine as it putters around through country roads, over bridges and around fields on its way into the cobblestoned streets of the town. And with each upgrade you buy, you’ll see a black and white map come to life with color as your farm expands into new areas.

On the other hand, Youda Farmer feels like it could have been fleshed out and balanced a touch more. With no story to drive the game forward, the only thing to look forward to is upgrading your farm – but in truth there aren’t all that many upgrades to keep players satisfied. The ability to paint your truck different colors was a great start – but how about more of that? The ending, too, is a letdown. In terms of replay value, you can start over from the beginning if you want to, but don’t expect anything to have changed. All in all, the game offers perhaps three or four hours of play.If you like your time management games fast and hectic, and have the reflexes to prove it, then give Youda Farmer a try. It certainly looks great and, once you’ve hit on the right strategy, plays great as well.

Theres no separate folder for music, it’s coded directly into the executable, so, if you find the music irritating (like i did), you can turn it off via the options menu. If you like background music, you can then play something from your own music collection. :) If you are a dab hand at coding you may be able to add music to the executable, but you’d probably need a decent editor and some patience.

It would be great if developers started including a choice of music genres that you could select via the options.

The graphics were excellent, with decent sound effects, though personally I found the music a little irritating after a while. The game becomes really challenging as you progress thorough the levels with multiple things to do and think about while you are playing. I’m not into time Management games as a rule; most I find horrifically nerve wracking and not enjoyable at all, but for some reason anything related to farming I seem to like. I wouldn’t say this is a true farming TM game like the Farm Frenzy series, (my second best favorite) Magic Farm series (my favorite), TerraFarmers or Tropical Farm style of games are, but it’s just about acceptable to me. (all those I’ve just mentioned are available from MyPlayCity).

The game comes with a tutorial in built, but once the screens have passed, there’s no way of seeing them again unless you start from the beginning again. There’s no help section either. (I’ve taken over 70 screen captures of the first four levels, lol). The game has no story and in my opinion the replay value is rather limited. Still, it’s okay for a wet Sunday afternoon. I’m not sure that the younger kids will enjoy this game, but they may do. The animations are pretty good as is the graphics. I’ve scored this an average 7.0 out of 10 when averaging the scores for Game play, graphics, audio, re-playability and originality. Graphics and Originality scored the highest with 8 points each, game play was 7 and audio and re playability 6. :)

    Game play – 7
    Graphics – 8
    Audio – 6
    Re-playability – 6
    Originality – 8

    Total = 7.0 out of 10

If you are posting late in the day I would also suggest posting in the main giveaway forums in the game discussion section. If you’ve installed the game but it won’t work for some reason, it should still be registered, so someone may be able to help at another time. Unfortunately if your problem is actually installing it then once the giveaway period is over there’s nothing that can be done until the game is given away again (though that isn’t guaranteed). It’s always worth checking out the free games sites as sometimes the games we get here are also available for free from them. MyPlayCity has the most with over 600 games to choose from.

Today’s game is available from MyPlayCity HERE

Games, Games, and yet more Games plus Download, Installation & Game play Problems:

If you have any problems installing or getting to work today’s game please go HERE for help.

If you’re looking for something other than today’s game check the didimatic site via THIS link for some brilliant deals.

There’s almost 70 games and/or dlc’s on sale over on Steam at the moment, for example 75% off Tropico 4 collectors bundle, 66% off Max Payne 3, the complete armA II set with 50% off, 50% off age of Empires III Complete collection, 75% off Sleeping Dogs (one of my favorite games of the moment and the 24hr deal), 67% off Primal Carnage, 75% off Velvet Assassin plus loads more great deals which you’ll find via the Specials tab on Steams front page HERE

You’ll find many more game deals from Gamersgate, Gamestop, Greenman Gaming and GOG; all of which you can find via the Didimatic site, which I’ve linked to above (apart from Greenman gaming – GMG). There’s a brilliant offer over at GMG with Bioshock Infinite. If you prepurchase it you get two other games for free. The first Bioshock, plus a choice from several other games including Bioshock 2, Spec Op’s: The Line, Civilization V, Darkness II or Mafia II, All these games are excellent. I’d recommend Spec Ops: the Line or Mafia II. If you like driving games then go for Mafia, if you like horror go for Darkness II. The latest 48hr deal is 50% off Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed for £9.99. That said, Steam also have a brilliant deal on this game, with a free giftable copy of Bioshock, a free dlc, loads of TF2 items and if they reach the final target the latest game in the X-Com series totally free as well. Other generous deals include: Dark Messiah M & M 75% off – £2.49 War of the Roses 75% off – £3.74 Killing Floor 75% off – £3.74 Crysis 2: Maximum E… 80% off – £4.99 and Red Orchestra 2 £14.99. There’s also a 20% off coupon that can be used with most digital downloads via GMG. You’ll find all the deals HERE:

To be honest there are too many game deals around too list them all. Just visit the sites I recommend above and I’m sure you’ll find something that suits you for a decent price.

The usual monthly free game from Alawars game box is now Sheep’s Quest! (though I’m still getting Sprill despite having deleted and reinstalled Game box) You may need to reinstall game-box if its still showing the previous game. It’s supposed to change every month, but some community members are seeing the same game for months on end. Dido suggested that you reinstall game-box to fix the problem. Reinstalling game-box shouldn’t affect any previous freebies. :). (You need to install the free Game-box from Alawar to access the free games, which for newcomers change approximately every month). If that’s not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals such as the Indie Game bundles (of which there are at least four live at the moment, and all of which contain some excellent games – see below for links and details); or check out the four day sales at IndieGameStand.

The latest IndieGameStand game is Doom & Destiny an old school RPG. You can pay less than a dollar for this game, but if you want the extra’s (usually game music, manuals etc) you have to pay the average price which stands at $1.66. Today’s extra’s include two more games called Miner Warfare and Spyleaks. There’s also several indie bundles over at Each bundle has three games and costs $5 each.

    The Bundle Stars: Fire and Ice bundle includes Tiny Troopers, Adams Venture 1 & 2, plus one more to come later all Steam keys. Airport Control sim, Darkness Within, Darkness Within 2, Firefighter plus another unamed title all Desura keys. Also If you missed previous bundles they are still available at a slightly higher price, but still bargains}

The Humble Bundle with android 5 includes Beat Hazard Ultra, Dungeon Defenders + All DLC, Dynamite Jack, NightSky, Solar 2, Super Hexagon all Steam keys plus drm free copies

The Groupees Digital Game Factory bundle includes Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror, Commandos 2: Men of Courage, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty, Broken Sword – Director’s Cut, Commandos 3: Destination Berlin all Steam keys plus Praetorians and Imperial Glory DRM free (I must have about 5 copies of the Commandos series as they seem to have figured in quite a few bundles plus i still have the original discs)

The The Indie Gala Flash bundle includes Miner Wars Arena, Miner Wars 2081, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, Paranormal, All with Steam keys and apart from Miners Wars 2081 a DRM free copy ass well. also drm free are Pathologic and The Abbey with music from the game Paranormal

The Indie Royale: the Debut Bundle includes Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, McDroid, Master of Alchemy – Rise of the Mechanologists, CloudPhobia, Wimp: Who Stole my Pants and 6180 the Moon. The last one was free over on Desura last week. All come with Desura codes and most are DRM free as well. No Steam keys are included in this Indie Royale bundle.

You can get most of the above bundles for around $5 give or take a few dollars.

    A Request for help:

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average between 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of ‘potential’ cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you’ve checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain what your reasons were for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with more block types for the levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.

Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to post a constructive comment.

    Hello Muftwale

Make sure Internet Explorer isn’t offline. Open I.E. then click on file and look to the bottom of the drop down menu where it says work offline. Make sure that isn’t checked. Even if you are using Firefox or another browser, you still need to make sure I.E. is set to work online.

If that isn’t the problem, check the FAQ’s which I always link to in my reviews. You may find other solutions there.

Regarding yesterdays game. Even though the giveaway is now over, if you managed to download the game, sometimes you can still activate it an hour or so after the giveaway has ended.
