The game is surprisingly short. It starts off okay, but after gathering about half the machine parts it moves along very quickly. It's as if the programmers rushed the last half of the game.

I really liked this.

Really really good graphics. Really good voice acting.

It was a nice change from the usual hidden object game, which is needed because regular HOGs are getting boring for me.

Some of the relationships in the connect the objects were a little obscure, but that was good.

IT MIGHT BE AN IDEA to have an second easier set of objects to match in the relationship puzzles, for an easy mode. Easy to program, just need a few more graphics.

I think the concept of this game is really good, but the game needs to be LONGER.

I enjoyed this game, a little different with having to get the sequence right in some scenes.
But the ...loading ...loading was a little tedious between chapters
And I finished the game the same day, I'd feel a bit ripped off if I had purchased it

wah! same as #55 Paulamaxy. the game won't launch because of an error message that i need to have at least 1024x768 screen resolution. although my display is native 1024x600, i can set the graphics properties to a much larger size with panning or use a1ctl for a compressed 1024x768. no joy either way. i was looking forward to playing this because of the many positive comments, especially Swampie's endorsement.

according to this thread at bigfish, a number of people have had display problems: http://forums.bigfishgames.com/posts/list/200233.page ... with no resolution (haha). i'll do due diligence and check out the GOTD FAQ. i'll report back if i find a solution. if not, i'll hold on to the game just in case it miraculously works one day.

thanks to playrix, GGOTD, and whiterabbit!

(system info: acer aspire one d250, winxp home sp3, 2gb ram, 1.6ghz, 1024×600 resolution)

Hope you get it working Tinyearl. Maybe contact the developer and ask if they have a solution.

This took three attempts to download. I finally got it late last night. No time to try it until this morning. Plays fine on Windows 7 64bit.

I am a fan of HO games, but not ones where you have to keep back-tracking to pick up items you could have gotten when you were there the first time. I'm not sure I'd even call this a Hidden Object game as the items are not really hidden. Sometimes they are merely perplexing.

This is a nice mix of genres. I hope it maintains my interest before it manages to frustrate and annoy me. It is a marked improvement on the offerings of the past few weeks. Thank you.

Sorry for being late....

As usual, Playrix makes it's mark. Even though I don't care for HOG's, I downloaded this. Animation-beautiful; great story line... Only thing i didn't like is that you had to switch back and forth between pages... Hide the dang things all on ONE page, OK? Hard enough to find them on one page....

Thanks Playrix and GGOTD for an pretty game. Thanks Wabbit for the review and giving the link for the walk through..LOL

Forgot to add, Wikipedia tells me that the original Hieronymus Carl Friedrich von Münchhausen lived in the 18th century and spent part of his life as a cornet (yes really: look it up! ;)), before going abroad to Russia, on his return, acquiring a reputation as an excellent racounteur with tall tales about Russia. This was more to send up his gullible peers than to deceive anyone or 'big himself up,' incidentally.

His fictionalization began about 20 years later, and "An English version was published in London in 1785, by Rudolf Erich Raspe, as Baron Munchausen's Narrative of his Marvellous Travels and Campaigns in Russia, also called The Surprising Adventures of Baron Munchausen." (my emphasis)

So clearly, and contrary to what others here seem to think, Playrix really did their homework on this game. Right, folks? It also seems that the 'two H' spelling the the correct one, though Anglicisation frequently (see above) commutes it to the 'one H' spelling.

One final thing: read the Wikipedia bit about the (infamous) Syndrome, which you'll find under the heading Medical Nomenclature. I nearly laughed out loud!

OK, game first!

Installed AOK on my desktop running XP Pro SP3. So far, so good. I love the gameplay but the voice acting is so lugubriously OTT and hammy that I killed the voice volume instantly. UGH! Why people other say the voice acting is 'good,' I have no idea. No: for REALLY good voice acting, look no further than Stephen Merchant's awesome and largely beautifully understated work on Portal 2. But I digress …

I confidently installed this on my wife's laptop which is a widescreen Compaq jobbie running Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. Seemed to install AOK so as is my wont, I cleared the 'run it now' checkbox and then started the game from the desktop icon and — black screen. And much worse than that, the whole laptop locked up, to the extent that I had to remove its battery to get out of that situation. Even Ctrl+Alt+Del didn't work, nor did Win key, Alt+Esc, Shift+Esc, or Shift+F4.

Tried again after reboot and — boom! same thing.

OK, let's uninstall and re-install (not a quick process). Right! THIS time, let's try setting the desktop icon to XP SP3 compatibility. BOOM! Black screen o'death again. Cursed, removed battery (again); uninstalled and reinstalled (again). This time, for some reason I thought 'maybe the desktop icon is stuffed?' so on a whim, I started the game from the Start Menu and — worked first time!

Annoyingly though, it refuses to run other than in full screen, claiming that it isn't possible to run it '… in a window at your current screen resolution.' Say WHAT?!! But at least it was working. One last time, I tried the desktop icon and — guess what?

Wondering idly whether or not I could claim from Playrix for wear and tear on the Compaq's battery clip, I restarted the laptop again, DELETED the desktop icon, and copied the Start Menu icon to the desktop. I nervously clicked it and put my fingers over my eyes — but no, it loaded again perfectly, and without demur. And it has done so ever since.

Moral: if you get a Black Screen O'Death (?) when you open a GGOTD game, try starting it from Start Menu and if that works, Quit the game, zap the errant desktop icon, then COPY the Start Menu icon to your desktop (assuming you want a desktop icon, obviously).

I have no idea why that worked, nor what was wrong with the original desktop icon. Almost a bigger mystery than some of the puzzles in the game!

Sorry for the long ramble, Stephen: hopefully it was mildly entertaining to read. And no it wasn't so hot in Edinburgh yesterday as it was in England, plus: our office has an excellent air conditioner. ;)

Installed fine on Windows 7. Just my kind of hidden object game with other things to do elsewhere to find some of them. Can`t comment on the music, as I always turn my sound off when playing games (just my preference) Graphics are pleasant and easy on my aged eyes. I like the inclusion of the games where you set the perameters and click play to see what happens. Unlimited tries means you get there eventually. Also the option of a relaxed mode means I can take my time getting the hang of it first. All in all, a nice game, just what I would expect from Playrix.

First, the download is extremely slow and then the current program will not install. The wrapper breaks off with Runtime Error (at "starting ..."). German WinXP SP3, 2GB RAM, 1.3 GB free HDD. Maybe GOTD should use the bloated wrapper for installations only under 150MB.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: ...Spiele\The Surprising Adventures of Munchausen\Setup.exe
abnormal program termination

I give up and will test the version from Allgameshome site.

By the way, was the historical guy "Baron von Münchhausen". That there are no umlauts on English keyboards, is understandable. But already that the game makers can not write "hh", is completely incomprehensible to me. LOL; the Google Translator writes the name also only with one "h".

.........................Moderator Comment.....................

Thanks for your feedback. sorry you didn't manage to get it sorted. I've not heard of Allgameshome, will have to check it out. Jenkat games is one of the best places to go for free games. they don't have as many games on offer as MyPlayCity, but still have a generaous catalogue, plus I don't think they force you to have toolbars etc.

I usually buy all my games rather than get them from these sites as it gives the developer more money from the game. These sites pay a fraction of the cost for each game downloaded. That said it's still a good income for developers as the money they earn comes from those who wouldn't usually buy the game, plus it helps those who can't afford or justify buing the games due to family responsibilities

I am so disappointed..four times I tried to download this game. I was so looking forward to it but....every download was corrupt. I am running windows xp and using a high speed cable hookup. Still each download took a bit over an hour. I am so bummed that I didn't get this game. Do you know what happened that I couldn't?

...........................Moderator comment..........................

Hi Dorie, nearly 12 thousand community members downloaded this game, with only a few having problems. it's more likely to be a problem at your end than it is from the giveaway end. I can't say for sure what could have been the problem. I presume you have a fairly slow broadband speed with it taking an hour (around 10 to 15MB connection). It took 15 minutes to dpownload mine on a 60MB connection - not the fastest, but reasonably fast. You could try rebooting your modem/router if this problem should arise again.

You can get the game for free from Jenkat games 24/7 Of all of the free game sites I know this one is the least invasive.

I love this little game! First, it downloaded easily in 19 minutes over WiMax to my Windows 7 Home 64 bit netbook. I decided to try expert mode and am doing very well having used only one hint so far. And it's not that I am so bright, it's that the pace of the game can be as fast or slow as you like because there's no time clock, you don't get penalized for clicking too often, and because the game itself is so laid back.
The graphics are bright but softly drawn. They sort of remind me of the way Disney's Cinderella was drawn. The story is rather minimal, mainly about Munchausen trying to save a beautiful damsel from marrying an evil old man by trying to gather together pieces of a stone that will save the kingdom. Although, to tell the truth, Munchausen is pretty old and decrepid himself. So I don't understand what he expects in the end. But there's always hope. And the humor in the Munchausen character is occasional laugh out loud funny. I love the way, as previously described, how many of the hidden objects can only be found if you can find a connection either easy or difficult with one of a group of objects. In between, the mini puzzles are interesting and occasionally difficult. The only negative I have is the very annoying music. It became so annoying that is was distracting. So I turned it down. Problem solved.
Scoring: Story- 7, Graphics- 8.5, Playability- 9, Music- 6 = Total: 7.6.
This is one of the few games that I definitely will want to play again. So thank you GOTD and White Rabbit!!

well, I've suddenly started playing these and find them very entertaining. Sadly though, this one is not gong to be one of them.
I've downloaded and installed it but every time I try to start it tells me my screen resolution is wrong, and suggests I change it to 1024 or higher. Tried all the res settings, checked my div x is totally up to date. All to no avail.
Its now too late to continue, and by morning here (UK) the time limit will have run out.
Such a shame but ...... some you win, some you. Thanks anyway :-)

Thank you for your feedback Paul. Did you check the FAQ's section over in the game Discussion forums? So long as you have the giveaway downloaded you can reinstall the game for at least another hour after the giveaway has ended (usually). If you do get up in time i'd have one more go at trying to get the game working. If not try the free Jenkat version (I've linked to it in my review at comment #1).

I had some problems downloading this file, possibly because it was on the big side. Whatever the reason, it would get so far, and then the download would stop! However, on the fifth try we made it, and the game installed without problems on my Windows 7 laptop.

The music is bearable, at least to begin with, and the art work is well done. Some scenes are a bit dark, but not impossibly so, or not yet. I quite like having the voiceover telling the story - it's easier to follow than the purely text ones that can race through too quickly, before I've had a chance to read them.

Finding the hidden items is okay, again up to now, although I hope there won't be too much backwards and forwards movement, because that can be annoying.

It's a HOG, but a slightly out-of-the-ordinary one, and enjoyable to play. I'll take my time over it as usual, and see what develops. So far, though, this is definitely a keeper.

Thanks again to GGOTD and White Rabbit! Your comments are always worth reading before downloading, to see if the game on offer is likely to appeal.

I am not a HO fan, prefer TM and Strategy but from all I have heard this one is bright and fun and not dark and dreary, well what else can you expect from Playrix one of the best gaming companies around! Something to look forward to with my morning java tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Download keeps conking out before it completes. :-(

.............................Moderator Comment...........................

Try using a download manager. There are loads of free ones available; just Google free download managers. Do be careful what you click on when you visit some free sites; some are better than others. So long as you've started a download it will complete even if the giveaway has ended and you'll have at least an hour post giveaway to activate the game (usually).

With a download manager if the download keeps 'conking' out, it will retain the download you have managed to get, so you just need to restart; eventually you should have the whole file. If it's not possible to get the giveaway, you can still get this game for free from the main free games sites. Just watch out for toolbar installations etc. (See my review at comment #1 for download links, i'd use the Jenkat link)

I like to make games and one good thing about that motive is all others serve as an inspiration. The Hidden Object Game genre is still new to me and it's interesting it has become a trend, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I like that this one has a little bit of plot and good voice acting. The transitions and morphing are done top notch, and they really inspire a trend. I like the pacing, it's done well, and the event to do list on some of the action levels are done nicely. I clicked on the site and see a lot of the same glossy look in all the games. It'd be interesting to see if different styles could be done with it. The only thing I'd even suggest for parsing is possibly for people with old monitors that are dim potentially a brightness button since some of the solutions are a bit dark.

Not for me, but I've seen at least one comment like that. Not everyone has advanced from the crt age and I do recall even out of the factory some of those could be pretty dark.

But yeah, I dunno, I was initially gonna pass on Mystery of Mortlake Mansion at first but after reading all the reviews how it was essential I checked it out. When I recognized Playrix after that and saw this one it became a no brainer, and I did get a little bit lured in by the product description.

Production values are top notch, music is suitable for the background, the opening music sounds like it should be ripped and resampled for an mc to voice over, and the transitions/morphs/fades are probably some of the most work and get the least credit, but they're stunning, as if someone spent a lot of time and thought into how scene one and scene 2 would fade into eachother.

I like the flow of the library. I'd also like to see if there's anything the team has made that's more outside the box. Cheers and thank you.
-b

In the 18th century there was a Hieronymus Carl Friedrich von Münchhausen. If this game is based on this man (who was famous for his imaginary adventures), is 'Muchausen' than a typo or deliberately chosen?

I know this is not like the usual comments but I will try to be as diplomatic as I can. Since this is a family oriented game site, I was wondering why so many games are occult oriented. Please do not blast me with the "innocence" of it all cause I know for a fact it isn't innocent at all. Since we seem to have one common thread, the best interest of our children at heart, I think that GGOD should seriously consider the following:
1. learn what occultism is and the forms it takes to entice our children (and adults)if you don't already have this information;
2. not advertise games that contain occultism and paganism (which both hide behind Satanism), violence;
3. refuse games even if it means not being to offer games on a regular basis.

I will not download this game and have not downloaded in a long time for these reasons. I know many will not share this ideology or my faith and that's fine. I would appreciate other users to refrain from commenting on my post for nothing will change my mind anyway. But in good conscience we should at least consider the negative effects and the negative, destructive impact of being exposed to these things mean. Even if the only motive is for what's best for our children.

Games like "Beiber Kicker" where the player kicks Justin Beiber's (a child himself at the time)head into a garbage can is of poor even despicable taste. Moral values have gone down the drain with many other christian beliefs and look where we are at now. We owe it to our kids to give them the best of everything.

Please do not take this as an attack on GameGiveawayoftheday because it's not my intention at all. I've been a loyal user on both side of the equation since the beginning until very recently. This is merely an attempt to re-sensitize everyone. If this impacts one other soul to make changes, I will have done my job. If not, the message was passed. Either way, I pray that you may be inspired to do what's best. God bless you all. Shalom.

........................Moderator comment...................

Thank you for your feedback Weezie, all feedback is welcome here so long as it doesn't include obsene or unreasonable language or bullying etc. I can appreciate your feelings and would support some of what you say, for example the Beiber Kicker game was in my opinion totally unreasonable, unfortunately there is a whole spectrum of ideology out there. I was raised a christian and until I hit puberty was a regular attender and was amember of my local church choir, but a series of events plus my later education and training as a scientist dispelled all such belief and left me with the belief that all religion is suspect.

I believe the bible was initially written as a rule/law book and has through the ages been re written to incorporate the belief in a divine being, which from my way of thinking is just not possible, There are countless arguments for and against such a being and this isn't the time or place to go into such dialogue so I wont labour the point any more except to say, apart from some games such as the one we've just mentioned and the recent cannon game (Facebookeria) which promote violence against real people, IMO most other games that incoporate such things as occultism are jusdt pure fantasy. I love science fiction and fantasy, they enable me to wander into other realms e.g. Elder Scrolls series of games that have given me countless hours of pleasue over the past decade

........................Moderator comment...................

Hi Leolie, check the comments above; a couple of other community members have had the same problem. I'd also check the FAQ's section as there is a section covering black screens

You'll find the FAQ's section via the following link:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/11647#post-101133

I've posted 'an edited' Black Screen section here for you.

Black Screen:

Problem:

If you are getting the black screen problem (possibly with an error message in a blue box that says “frequency out of Range”)it usually points to a screen resolution problem. Thst is the resolution you have your screen set to may not be supported by the game; or it could be the refesh rate that is the problem.

Solution:

Try setting your screen resolution temporarily to a different setting and see if that cures the problem. If that doesn't work right click on the games executable and select 'properties', then click on the compatibility mode and select the disable visual themes. This should fix the problem, if not try disabling the display scaling on higher dpi settings and disabling the desktop composition. You can also try compatibility modes for XP, epecially if the game is quite old.

Other fixes include installing the latest direct X (remember that XP uses DX 9 or earlier only, Vista uses DX 10 or before and Win 7 DX11 or before). I think this game requires DX9, so you'll still need to download that becasue it was pointed out to me that DX10 & 11 are not backwards compatible) Also try updating your graphics drivers. The main two chip manufacturers are NVIDIA and ATI (now AMD) both of which offer driver downloads for free. Just go to the respective manufactures home pages and you'll find a link to the driver download page. To find out which graphic card or graphics chip your computer uses type in Dxdiag in the search field (Vista or Win 7) or the run command (XP); this opens up the DirectX diagnostics panel. click on the display tab and look to the left panel. You should easily see what graphics card or chip you are using. (This is required information when selecting the correct download from the developers site).

I hope the above is of some help?

RE: Comment # 12:

You probably can't get it to run because it is a zipped file. Only reason I can think of for not being able to run it from the download page.

Another nice Playrix game. I normally don't like fragmented object HOGs but this one seems to be easier to handle. Only real objection I have is that some of the images are very dark for my poor old eyes ;)

Oddly I also was unable to just open the zip file (the way I always do) but had to actually save it in order to open it. No big deal, just odd.

One thing I loved was while adjusting the voice volume there was actually a voice sample to listen to instead of just having to guess what volume I would end up with.

I found this game originally at freegamepick.com. Besides the MyPlayCity and Jenkat sites, it's also available at FreeGamePick and Gametop. All have possible additional software, Homepage/search-engine hijacks, browser openings and/or screwy installation locations. If using these sites (as I do), be very careful during installation.

The only problem I found is that you have to turn off the "tutorial" to get past that pipe puzzle early on in the game. It keeps telling you to pick the pipe and you've already solved that puzzle.

Otherwise, it's as much Adventure as it is HOG but not bad.

I found it a keeper. I have it from Freeegamepick because they were the first and I didn't feel like re-doing it and having to re-do my backup install file.

This game was very short but a lot of fun while it lasted.

Spoiler alert:
#24, once those items have been interacted with and no longer move, they're in the right places.

Second spoiler alert:
Check your inventory.

Sharon, you don't have to move the bagpipes or umbrella. Your computer is working just fine. If you can't do that scene then google for help.

For someone who doesn't usually like HOGs I enjoyed this one a lot. A short afternoon's work to play the whole thing but it was fun to do. An interesting story line for once.. I don't usually bother to read those so to have it spoken and not too long for each screen was great. An enjoyable, varied play.

Frustrating... Installed and activated the game, but got only a blank screen with the background voice, telling the story.

Restarted it number of times, trying nearly all available startup options (switched to Windows XP compatibility mode, disabled visual themes, etc.), eveb tried to disable anti-aliasing in NVidia control panel and second monitor - nothing worked.

Windows 7 64-bit, NVidia GeForce GTX460 with v.311.06 drivers and two 1920x1080 monitors. Most of the games and applications work fine, but this game is not. Will have no choice, but to uninstall it, QA team definitely needs to put more efforts.

Thank you for your feedback VladStar, unfortunately there's only me moderating this site and for the past few months i've been really busy. I'm only a volunteer and give up quite a significant amount of time trying to help the community, but i'm not an expert so can't answer all questions. I can't explain why you and a couple of other users are getting this problem. Have you checked your event logs to see if there's a problem? It may also be that you are running a back ground program that conflicts with this game. One way to find out is by trial and error, that is, turn off individual system programs (not all are essential for playing the game), or better still use the free Game Booster from Razer (see the FAQ's for a download link). Game booster turns off all system programs not required for playing games, and you can also configure it to turn off non system programs that run in the background. Once you are done playing the game, you can then turn everything back on at the click of a mouse button. (I'm sure the latest versions of Game booster can do this automatically). I hope the feedback I've left you is sufficient to help solve the proglem, sorry i couldn't be of more help

Thanks very much for the game - it's a good one. I downloaded earlier today and have managed to spend too much of a lovely sunny day playing it. Oops!

The first time I played it, all the items I'd collected disappeared from the screen. I tried closing and reopening, but they stayed vanished. I started again with a new profile, this time it worked just fine and I've just completed it.

To help Sharon @ 11:59am - the items aren't meant to move until everything is in the right place. A cannon ball bounces off the skillet on the table (you have to move it to just the right place otherwise it doesn't work). The cannonball breaks the barrels and beer floods the room - that's when all the things move to block the windows and fill the mugs with beer. (I cheated and looked at the walkthrough.)

A small heads-up about Jenkat games (a site I like a lot!).

If you're using a browser other than Internet Explorer, and it doesn't show anything after clicking the download button for a game, use Internet Explorer instead. In my experience, IE always works and shows the pop-up correctly.

I don't know quite why this is, but both myself and my wife have had problems with this in the past. Our 'standard' browser is Iron, so the issue (whatever it is) may affect other Chrome/Chromium-based browsers as well.

I'm a big HOG fan (as regular readers will know), but as I'm continuing to have a very busy day today, and am only now able to start the download. I'll be sure to report back later, as this one sounds very interesting!

I've been using Game GOTD for years (since it used to be a daily offering!), and I've learned a few things.

First, I've learned that with any installation on this site or any other, to always be careful about hijacks and junkware, especially on free software.

Second, I've learned that if it's from PLAYRIX, you can be 99% sure that it will be a good game and lots of fun if it's in the genre that you enjoy.

And Third, it's a given that GOTD and Game GOTD are great sites run by webmasters who deserve our great thanks. And although some of the programs they offer are junk, a lot of their offerings are great... and at the price (Free!) even the stinkers are a good value!

Just be careful, even on paid, commercial software, about junkware and hijacks. Make sure that during installation, you un-check any boxes offering to install anything other than the program or game itself. Unless, of course, you really want your homepage to be www.nowwegotcha.com. :-)

I had to disable my antivirus (ESET NOD 32) as it was preventing me from installing due to it saying it had a potential threat (variant of Win32/InstallCore.BC). Obviously a false positive but if anyone is having issues installing you might need to temporarily disable your antivirus program.

........................Moderator comment...................

Thank you for your feedback Anonymouse, it's probably the security incorporated into the .gcd file that now comes with all game downloads from this site. Once you've installed the game, you can delete the set up files and get rid of the potential threat :)

Win 7 64bit - downloaded and installed without a hitch. However, there is a glitch in it. Twice it has closed completely without warning. I never have problems with games from this site. It opens up again ok but is annoying.

........................Moderator comment...................

Thank you for your feedback Marcy, so far no one else has reported this problem. Some community members have played the game through with no hitches. Unfortunately I can't explain why it crashes. Possibly some configuration issue or it may be conflicting with one of your background programs. Try using Game Booster from Razer. That program turns off all system programs not required to play the game, plus you can configure it to turn off all non-system programs as well. If it is a back ground program that's causing the issue Game Booster is one of the better ways of dealing with it (the other is trial and error - i.e. by turning off programs one at a time); the latter method is likely to take much longer than the time it would take to complete the game. :)

There's a link to Game Booster in the FAQ's that I've linked to in my review above (comment #1) or you could Google it using the words, Razer and Game Booster. :) You may be able to find the problem by checking your event logs. (Check google if you're not familiar with looking at event logs).

I hope the above is of some help.

#11: "I have been trying for about 4 hours and nothing seems to be comong through at all."

Sites have a certain, set amount of bandwidth, like a ceiling if you will on the total amount of bits that can pass through the pipes connecting that site to the outside world. Some sites have bigger pipes than others, but that costs more, so they buy just what they normally need. 300 MB GOTD downloads are rare, & they stress the system a bit since every person downloading today's game stays connected longer, so you have more people downloading at the same time -- 100 cars on the highway is no problem at all if they're spread out, but put them all at the same place & you've got a traffic jam.

[Same as WR said - just phrased a bit differently in case it helps.]

#13: "I’m still WAITING for the first in the history of GAOTD Smart Phone game download. "

While I don't think there'd be a shortage of willing developers, IMHO I'm not at all sure it would work... too many people have cells, tablets, Kindles etc. that by default won't side load anything, so they remain locked into downloads & installs from their cell carrier &/or manufacturer [e.g. Samsung] &/or the Google or Apple stores. Right now I'm seeing those limitations being reenforced rather than relaxed, as it's all too possible to package mal-ware into these sorts of apps/games, & the only real protection is through the app store screening them. I'm not saying GOTD wouldn't or couldn't screen them as well, only that with the growing mal-ware threat customers aren't demanding as strongly that they be set free of the app stores etc.

#18: "Can anyone tell me what program(s) they use to create such great artwork? I work in Photoshop and could not see myself ever doing this kind of work, it would take forever!"

Google "game artwork creation" [w/out quotes]. When it comes to games & films using moveable characters there are just some people that are really good at creating 3D models -- I think it's interesting personally because these folks can come from most any walk of life, & it seems [to me anyway] an aptitude you're born with. That said, it's not unheard of to employ a sculptor & then use special hardware to scan their work into 3D models. That's not to imply it doesn't take an awful lot of work, however they manage it. If you do the same thing over & over you will get faster, to a degree anyway, but it still does take lots & lots of time.

Loved the game as far as I can play it. I've got to the tavern scene and I cannot pick up any of the objects to block the windows, which seems to be the point of this scene. The objects (umbrella, pillow, bagpipes) will open up but not move when I try and pick them up. Any ideas why this is ? I'm so frustrated !

........................Moderator comment...................

Thank you for your feedback. Not sure why it's happening. hopefully someone will come up with a solution. Try changing your screen resolution, or play it in a window.
