Catch The Tune for Mac and Android

This simple and dynamic game will put you into the world of magic sounds and haunting rhythms and everyone will become a little bit of a musician himself.

Once a traveler discovered a secret of an ancient manuscript that points to the treasure of ancient people. The manuscript says that one has to wake up the fire totems and light the sun before the mighty spirit Vislipuzli will reward one with treasure. The only way to do this is to play the magic music.

  1. I didn’t get an advance copy of todays game so as yet haven’t even started a review. I will endeavor to post at least a small review later in the day.

The downloads to a 11.9 MB zip file that unpacks to a read me and dual activation module, which for the newcomers to the game giveaway project means that once you’ve installed the game it automatically registers, that is, there’s no registration code to input. The game installs to the following path:

There is no shortcut installed so you’ll have to follow the above path to create your own shortcut. To uninstall the game just delete the installed folder (there is no uninstaller). The game works on Win 7. Not tested it on any other platform yet.

    Very Quick Review:

8-Ball Pool is quite basic but does the job. The game physics are okay. The following images show you what the game looks like. For a casual game this is quite decent and well worth downloading unless you already have a pool game installed. Then you wont find any extra features as this is a budget title.

There are no instructions included apart from some keyboard commands that appear to the bottom left or right (depending on whose playing). you can select a 3D view or a top down view by pressing the A key, Tab will shift your position and B will set your position (equivalent to making your first mouse click).

There’s no second shots for those who play those rules.

Game play is simple. There are two modes of play, single and two player. Selecting single player sees you playing against the games AI. Selecting two player allows you to play against another human player. There are three levels of difficulty. Playing on easy anyone should be able to beat the computer. To hit the ball adjust the cursor until you are satisfied that you are lined up correctly. There’s a small circular indicator that you can see in front of the ball you are aiming at. This represents where your white ball will travel to. You can move the mouse to get an impression of where to hit the white ball. Once lined up, click the mouse. Then pull back on the mouse, this will enable you to adjust the power of your shot. The further you pull back your mouse the harder the stroke will be. To get a feel for the game, I’d have a practice session so that you can see how far you need to pull back to get specific power shots. Once you’ve lines up and pulled back, click your left mouse Button again to carry out the shot.

    That’s basically it.

The pool table is represented quite well graphically, but the background is just stylized. This enables the player to concentrate on the table and not the background. There’s no music, which also is a plus in this game. There’s nothing more annoying than the sound of music while concentrating on a shot; however, if you do want music playing in the background see comment umber 4 by Shaun for details of how to get music. The sound effects are excellent. :)

    Good luck with your game.

Please do let me know how you found today’s game and don’t forget to visit tomorrow for a special Christmas day treat.

Overall a reasonable but basic pool game. No complaints from me. I love pool games, but already have some games purchased over the last decade or so that have better graphics and more varied game play as well as different pool tables and different environments so wont be keeping this one. don’t get me wrong, its very playable, but because I have better I can’t see any point in keeping it. :)

    Gameplay – 8
    Graphics – 7
    Audio (sound effects) – 8
    Re-playability – 8
    Originality – 6

    Total = 7.4

    Suggestions to the Developer:

    • Add different table types
    • Include different environments
    • Include different rule sets
    • Include billiards as a choice of game type

Games, Games, and yet more Games plus Download, Installation & Game play Problems:

If you have any problems installing today’s game please go HERE for help.

If you’re looking for something other than today’s game check the didimatic site via THIS link for some brilliant deals.

There are several other deals available from Steam as well as many more from Gamersgate, Gamestop, Greenman Gaming and GOG; all of which you can find via the Didimatic site, which I’ve linked to above (apart from Greenman gaming.

Steam have a great sale on at the moment with prices slashed on hundreds of games.

The usual monthly free game from Alawars game box is still Finding Doggy. (You need to install the free Gamebox from Alawar to access the free games, which for newcomers change approximately every month). If that’s not enough, check out the Game Discussion forums HERE for details of other games either free or on deals.

There is yet more indie game bundles with the latest Humble Bundle released a few days ago. You’ll find details over in the Game discussion forums HERE

If you want more Match three games there’s around a hunded free ones available from myPlayCity.

Do be aware that MyPlayCity have reintroduced toolbars and home page hijacks to their games, but these can be avoided by un-checking the appropriate boxes during installation, however everytime you open up the game you will need to un-check the boxes again as they are presented at every game start-up. Also when you close any of their games down, your browser is opened and directed to MyPlayCity’s home page. This is innocuous so don’t worry. Closing the page ends any connection and nothing is downloaded.

    A Request for help:

Developers rely on good feedback to improve their games. If you download this game please take some time once you’ve played it a while to leave some constructive feedback either positive or negative. The more constructive feedback we get, the more likely developers are going to give more games away. The giveaway site already has a very good standing with the search engines. Developers want their products out there on the WWW, this site has the potential to do that. The game giveaway project gives away on average between 9 to 17 thousand downloads for each game depending upon what genre and how obscure the game is. That’s a lot of homes these games are being downloaded into and a lot of ‘potential’ cash that’s being lost by the developers. If we get better games because of better feedback, the community are likely to continue to benefit from the generosity of the developers. Satisfied community members are then more likely to visit the home sites of those developers and purchase games that they may not have bothered with before they discovered the developer via the game giveaway site, thus giving the developers more incentives to give away even more decent games.

Please leave some feedback once you’ve checked the game out. It can be positive or negative, but please explain what your reasons were for the feedback you post. You could also leave suggestions for improving the game, for example, this game could do with more block types for the levels editor, add more power-ups, describing the ones you think would be suitable, add some mini games (which seem all the rage in some arcade games now) or enable the user to be able to change the in game music easily.

Thank you in advance to all those who take the time to post a constructive comment.

  3. There is no installation routine for this. Instead you merely unzip the game to a folder of your choice. This is a great option in my view because you can easily download and try out the game with no worries about your system. So how is the game? For me it’s a combination of fun and frustration. I have only played for a short time but I can see it will take me some time to get used to the controls. The graphics get the job done though they are not jaw dropping. Overall I would say give it a try. If you don’t like it all you need to do is delete the game folder. So you have nothing to lose. Thank you so much GGOTD team and Fly Games.
