Good Old Sudoku is the most popular logic puzzle in Japan also known as Suduko, Sudoko, Su do ku, Sodoku, Suduku. It is very simple to learn, requires no calculations, and provides a surprisingly wide variety of logic situations. From children to old can enjoy it for a pass-time. The game refers to a number placement puzzle also known as Number Place in USA.

First Japanese title of this puzzle is "Suuji wa dokushin ni kagiru". It's means that number is limited only single (unmarried). But this title is too long, then it was abbreviated as "Sudoku". So "SU" means number, "DOKU" means single. The puzzle seems to have first been published in the USA before being noticed and then popularised in Japan.

The rules of the puzzle are simple. Each row, column and minibox comprises the numbers 1 through 9. The solver must complete the missing numbers. The attraction of the puzzle is that the completion rules are so simple and yet the overall task can be difficult. Sudoku is recommended by some teachers as an exercise in logical reasoning. This game also can be used as Sudoku solver. It is easy to solve your sudoku puzzles and try to find right solutions for any game combinations.

Full screen option is available.
NO other options other than music and sounds on/off.
Needs more options and definitely an option to select Easy to Hard game play.
Finally got Help screen to go away, but do not know how I did it.
"Music" got on my nerves. Just a little "midi ditty" that plays over and over and over and. . .
Nine interior squares need to be identified with bolder lines than the rest of the grid.
Help explains good strategy, such as "subscripting," which is a way of "penciling-in" numbers of which you are not sure, however you cannot do this in the game.
Cannot turn hints on and off.

Well... its sudoko... so thats good...
On the other hand... its ANOTHER sudoko... so thats kind of pointless.
On the plus side, i did like the little bit of history in the game description, i often wondered what the name meant, but was to lazy to google it :)

After all the comments I know I won't be installing this game.
What makes it worse is that this site bundles almost all its programs with adware. McAfee rates it red with 73 red downloads. If that's not enough, this game offered right now, is also red (Adware-SaveNow(WhenU).
Giveaway or not, how can anyone trust a site with this reputation?

When I was first introduced to ggatd about a year ago you guys had some realy cool games. Lately they have been a pathetic barage of crappy clones. I used to look forward to seeing what new games you have, now I just look to see if you got anything half worth playing. You have not. I can not remember the last time I downloaded a game. I am a bit bewildered that after alll the negative feedback about Double Games you are still pushing them. Is there anybody who checks these games? Because they sure don't listen to us.

Call this vendor whatever you want. It's still Doublegames. I think that's enough info for most to decide whether to download. Thank you GAOTD and Freegames4rest......... I mean Doublegames. I will skip this offer

Doesn't work, comments about the help window not going away, and no relief all mount up to a bad choice.
Does anyone there actually try what is offered ?

I like sudoku, but this was not easy to use. There didn't seem to be a way to turn off the hints, and I couldn't find a way to mark possibles. When I opened the help screen, I couldn't get it to turn back off. I also couldn't toggle full screen back off. I much prefer the free online sudoku game at dailysudoku.com. I uninstalled this game after about 5 minutes.

I do appreciate the opportunity this site gives me to try out games I otherwise might not try, though. Thanks! Keep 'em coming...

Could not find way to turn off hints. Help window hard to close. How? I would click everywhere, the "?"(toggle?) the 2nd yellow ball on rods holding the Help scroll, nothing. Randomly it would go away. Afterward hitting "?" would NOT bring up Help.

Why only 100 tables? Seems random generator would provide a whole lot more than that...

Too many alternative Sudoku's available to recommend this IMO.

"Fullscreen Off" didn't work. Had to hit "ESC" key to get out of fullscreen.

How do you clear the "Help" from the screen when you finish reading it?

"Music On" after "Music Off" generates a new "COMBO#" often over 100--which isn't supposed to be allowed. It also starts up with "COMBO#"'s greater than 100 sometimes.

The most important part of the game--the puzzle itself--takes up only about a quarter of the screen. It's difficult to use because of the black-on-brown font, and the "regions" not being marked off.

After trying to play it a while, I felt like the samurai on the screen--ready to commit hari-kari. :)

http://sourceforge.net/projects/winsudoku/

For those that want a Sudoku that is permantely free without an Oriental touch to it.

If you search around I'm pretty sure you'll find 2,342 other ones.

In short, who ever payed 15 USD for this one has money to burn.

GGOTD you have done the impossible- you've just found a publisher worse than DoubleGames. I like the Buku Sudoku made by Merscom *you can actually disable hints and make your own puzzles- even has a puzzle solver included* and too many Sudoku games make GGOTD a dull site.

Kind of like how GAOTD has so many useless converters.

Now why would I spare $14.95 for a Sudoku game when I could get a portable version that is free and needs no registration and can be carried/played everywhere even by a flashdisk

These are games that are given away every day people should be grateful that a site is willing to do that.

Thank you very much to everyone who works at this site. Keep up the good work you have a friend in me for life!

If you haven't got any Sudoku arcade games (there have been a few given away over the past few months), this is well worth downloading.

There are a hundred combo's to play around with so this should keep those fill in moments filled with brains whirring away. You can select any board from 1 to 100 by inputting the number into the combo's field. You can make the game as easy or hard as you wish by changing the givens number from 0 to 80 leaving the board totally blank to having only 1 number to select, lol (maybe ideal to show a youngster the principals).

The usual options, such as a help menu, music and sound effects toggles as well as windowed to full screen toggle can be found at the top right hand corner of the screen. There are a generate button as well as a clear, undo and redo buttons to the right of the playing area.

The music for the first 10 seconds sounded promising, but as is usually the case with Double Games/FreeGames4Rest it's in a loop, so the music becomes increasingly annoying. Unfortunately, unless you’re experienced at editing script by opening up the executable file (probably using a hex editor) the only alternative is to toggle the music off.

As games go I’d give this a 5 out of 10, but I’m biased because i don't particularly like Sudoku. It's not the best I’ve seen graphically, but if it's the game you’re interested in, the graphics shouldn't matter.

Thank you again FreeGames4Rest and the Game giveaway team. Keep up the fantastic work you’re doing to bring the world free arcade games. I for one appreciate the giveaway project very much.

Another "thanks but no thanks;" I've got a pretty good Sudoku program on my PDA that runs in 24k, I really don't think I need one that eats more than a megabyte.

No way to mark the various possibility in order to eliminate as you would on paper. But the biggest gripe is that the sub groups of 9 are not distinguished from the overall grid. I like Sudoku, but in this case using a paper and pencil is definitely easier....

It's not possible to turn off hints. When I clicked the "help" button (hoping for some kind of options) I couldn't figure out how to make the help screen go away!

I'll be sticking with my pencil and paper sudoku for now.

No thanks GGAOTD. But this developer could be outdone by... anything really. I'm not going to vote negatively as I have not and will not try the game. Otherwise, thanks for the ongoing service.
