To The Giveaway Team,
Please reply to this. I tried to download the game Ginger Blocks thats for 30th July 2007. It says i have around 3 hours and some minutes more left to download this game. When i click the link (Proceed to Download Page) it says the game download period is already over and ill have to buy or download the trial version.

Whats happening?

Thanks Anyways.

Holy cow, to all the whiners out there... the game isn't that bad at all. I think it's a cute rendition of Collapse. But no, I wouldn't pay for it, and can only thank GAOTD for offering this game, and any game, for free. If something is offered for free and you don't want it, don't take it. I guess some just like to complain, and want more and more for free. I admit GAOTD probably wants to hear feedback, but all this negativity is so predictable, and I'm sure it rolls right off their backs, hopefully. They offer what they can, and I've gotten several real winners from here. But of course every game can't be a winner to everyone.

For the people who cannot seem to get the full version from GGOTD - and have complained that the version downloaded here is a 15 day trial (same as from the FreeGamesArena site) obviously you haven't read and followed the instructions (as mentioned immediately following the above download link).

Extract all 3 files - and read the readme.txt file - running the activate.exe program will make the game a full version instead of a 15 day version.

It's amazing what a difference "following the directions" will make. ;)

The download and install process were a breeze! This is a great game for its type and the degree of difficulty increases appropriately as you advance to higher levels. IMO DoubleGames does not deserve the inordinate bashing it receives here. There are only so many varieties of game formats and if something is offered with a different twist on an old theme, why is that a bad thing? Solitaire games are all solitaire. Mahjongg games are all mahjongg. Tetris games are all tetris. If the graphics, story, or gameplay has been given a different spin, that just adds or detracts from the interest. DoubleGames has given me several games that I enjoy playing on a regular basis. Ease up on them, folks.

I tried installing this three times but kept getting erros or trial version so I deleted the program.

To those who seem to enjoy griping about the quality of the giveaways - GET OVER YOURSELF! You have obviously lost the whole point. Not every giveaway is suitable for every person nor should it be. I prefer simpler graphics as they are easier for my level of vision. I have only been using a computer for a year and am still learning, but am greatly appreciative of the level of variety of programs available through this site.

I Only found this site in mid June, but the games/programs that I have downloaded have helped me to improve my computer skills and for that I say THANK YOU GOTD!!

I am so tired of tetris games. I like puzzle games, brain teaser games and adventure games. Why not bring these back. The games you have offere lately have been really lame.

#4 - No the game is not free all the time. The game is free only for 15 days or 15 plays (whichever comes first).

Just because a site like "FreeGamesArena" claims that a game is free- don't believe it. It's just a ploy to get you to download a trial from them.

Why is it that they tell us the games are free if we download on time, but when we do download, they say they are only free for like 14-15 days with a limited number of times you can run the game. If the game is free, let it be free with no add ons that you have to pay $14.95 or whatever to be able to play it forever. This isn't as free as it is supposed to be. I can tired of downloading games to find that I only have 14 days to play it for free.

#5 says this game is always free, no! it isn't! I downloaded and installed it, like an idiot, now it has a 15 day free period, which sucks. I will be uninstalling it, I hate these time limited games, just junks up your hard drive and for nothing.

I have figured it out!
I know the plot!!
GGOTD is really working for all the game companies (A.K.A the man). the plan is to give away all the worst games ever designed so that ppl wont have any trouble paying more money just for a normal game!
I have come to this conclusion by simply observing myself. since i have been downloading these games i have been more willing to pay for any game that is remotly intresting...

Good job GGOTD :D

I'm not really the Whiterabbit, but I want to show how easy it is to use another person's username on this "forum!" Although Whiterabbit's comments are usually very helpful, see #10 above, others can easily pretend to be another user, and flood the forum with comments that reflect their own opinions.

I guess there is no skin off of any ones nose ,but I think this site is going down hill with some of the offerings of late . this is free at the web site but it contains spyware and adware , I am not sure of the down load here because I read the ula and nothing was mentioned that I could determine that said anything about third party soft ware . The game is not that great looking and I did not down load it because of security concerns . I can understand having trouble finding software companies that would be willing to just give their software away, although it did cause me to purchase one soft ware I lost in a wipe out, it was the only one that did not restore through the back up . I did like that game and so did my daughter so I did buy it it was , hyperbaloid the full edition it is a good game and the graphics are great and it has 150 levels , enough to keep one busy for some time .

Yesterday it was “FreeGamesArea” Today it is "FreeGamesArena". Are these the new new names for DoubleGames? I did visit the FreeGamesArena website today and, while it is different from yesterday, it is still "free" download---more commonly called trialware.

Also, today's site is tagged by McAffee for adware.

If it looks like a DoubleGames and smells like a DoubleGames, what does it matter what you call it? I have just added these 2 new companies to my boycott list.

well i downloaded the game because my daughter likes games like this. i'm having one problem, the activation key does not work. it's only giving me 14 plays. so this won't help me with her.
i really like the free games and software, thanks for bringing them to us. who cares if it is a ripoff of another game, at least it's free.

This game's totally boring!!! Who'd want to pay $14.95 for that??? By the way it was quite cheap to pass it off as free when actually it does not cost a thing on the official website? Really you can do better than that! Anyways there's always tomorrow. Hope you'll do better! Cheers.

A whole row of disasters! You might want to drop DoubleGames (and crappy affiliates)- they aren't really making your site much more popular.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate this game a -14 for ripping off collapse, passing off as a $15 game, aaand also for having a crappy storyline that the developers probably hoped would 'salvage' the game.

This is another remake of two previously given away games from the DoubleGames Corporation. It's the same as Blocks Annihilator from June 11th and Super blocks from May the 9th.

Check out comments 5, 9, 14, 15, and 38 for a full review by following the following link:

http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/blocks-annihilator/#comments

or comments 16 and 31 from the following link:

http://game.giveawayoftheday.com/super-blocks/#comments

Apart from some basic graphics changes the game really is exactly the same. Anyone who doesn't have super collapse or missed the previous giveaways will enjoy this (assuming you like most arcade games. There's nothing wrong with this game, despite the already large number of negative comments, which I suspect aren’t really reflecting the playability of the game. As I've lost my previous copied on both of the children’s computers, due to a necessary clean up, I will be downloading this.

With respect to comments above about this being a totally free game if you visit the home page and download it…….. It's not. As with other games from this Corporation, that give the impression of being totally free, they are actually 15 day trials. Remember this is a non English speaking developer, so syntax is understandably incorrect. That should be acceptable for anybody who doesn’t speak more than one language. I admire anyone who has got to grips with two or more languages.

As mentioned yesterday; the only gripe I have regarding this repackaging of the same game. I do hope the DG Corporation are not trying to sell each game as a totally new package as in effect, the graphics are all that are different

Thank you for bringing the community free games. They are always welcome. :)

It is Super Collapse, only worse. Poor graphics, no anamation, really bad music, and a complete lack of originality. It lacks several features of Super Collapse and adds nothing except primative graphics and cheesy music. It would not even run untill I shut down RivaTuner and ATI Tray Tools. It might be amusing for the kids if you have any, and onse I got it running, it ran well. So I would give this a 2 out of 10

Look on the bright side - it's not Double Games! However, it's still free off FreeGamesArena's website, anyways. How much of a giveaway is this, when it was free yesterday, and will be free tomorrow? This actually motivated me to use the Contact link at the bottom of this page to complain about free-already software being offered.

"Ginger Blocks is available for $14.95, but it will be free for our visitors as a time-limited offer."

Um, no it's not. Follow the link given above, to the main website. This game is free all the time. Trying to pass it off as normally costing $14.95 is a little sneaky, isn't it?
