I purchased farmscapes for my computer a few months ago and was given the trial version. I complained via e-mail and through the playrix site over and over again just to be told that I needed to contact them through the game. You can not send messages through the trial version. Finally after demanding my money back, I was offered some new choices of games if I found that acceptable. I was kind and accepted a different game farmscapes, I was sent a link to farmscapes, played for 3 days and discovered that I had been playing the free trial version. Now after sending e-mails I am getting nothing back in return. I am in disbelief that Playrix would be so dishonest and run me through the ringer for several months as they/you have.
As I told them on my last e-mail I demand that my e-mail be escalated to management and dealt with in a timely manner. I have been cheated and given the runaround and am absolutely sick of the entire ordeal.
This was the first time I had purchased the PC version of one of your games and if things would have worked out I had my eye on a few more but now I'd be afraid of being put through the same rip off scheme.

Hi Debra, I'm really shocked that Playrix are behaving in this way. They have given away hundreds of thousands of copies of most of their games over the past 10 years, having been one of the game giveaway sites regular top contributors (together with Alawar). They stopped giving two years ago for some reason. I've never heard of any other community member having such issues.

I can understand how you feel as I've been in similar situations after spending money on games and getting nothing in return; in fact I've lost several hundred pounds over the last 10 years partly due to developers and game houses going out of business (post the 2008 financial crisis) and no longer supporting their games, most of which have required online activation via their servers, which no longer exist.
All I can suggest is that you persist with your complaints as I'm sure you'll get a working code eventually. Playrix Entertainment is not an English speaking company, so maybe they are not fully understanding your messages. Try sending requests with a Google translation included. I think Playrix Entertainment is a Russian developer/game house. Try posting on their forums as well. Regards W.R.

It crashes on me...

The game installs fine, and then runs the 'loading' dialog. After I 'click to continue', it presents the 'story' screen (with click to skip in the top right). It sits there for a dozen seconds or so - and then ends. No instance of the game running.

I'm on an XP system, as up-to-date as the auto-updater might keep it.

Dave.

This game is great for kids of all ages (almost 62). This game is different from the one given away a few years ago. Excellent game.

I think this is a pretty good game for any age. It's well made, looks great, and works well. I like the music and the sound effects, and the story is cute. I got tired of match three games pretty quickly after discovering GGOTD, but Farmscapes is very replayable. I'll always compare similar games to this one and Playrix makes some really solid games in general.

It's too bad about #1 thinking it's "kids stuff". Perhaps GTA V would be more to their liking ;)

Hi All
I voted thumbs up before installing :-(. I had this game before and loved it so was happy to see it again. New/old laptop Thinkpad T60 with WinXP can't seem to handle the graphics. The intro video? is nothing but colourfull bars across the screen. After "skip video" next screen is good except for the moving figures. The kid is made up of three side-by-side "ghosts- horizontal lines" running around.
I hope there is an easy fix. I am sorry this is the weekend Whiterabbit can't help and Playrix doesn't seem to be reading this. Come to think of it since it is 7pm EST you are probably reading this after Whiterabbit gets his internet back. (I would post this in forums but once again I can't remember my password:-(.
Thanks GAOTD and Playrix and of course Whiterabbit

I still have this game from the last time it was given away. So I did not download it today. Thank you for those who mentioned it was not actually the collector's edition. As this spared me a download and install. I can say that I really enjoy this game. I have played through several times and decorated my farm differently every time. While to me the farm is just a fun but small part of the game - it definitely increases replayability imho. I also like the fact that as the rounds go on the boards do increase in difficulty. So for those who may be on the fence about the game or think it's for kids only - you may want to play into the later levels - if you enjoy a good match 3 game.
And thank you Playrix for continuing to offer us great games - I have yet to be disappointed by or fail to enjoy any of the Playrix games that have been given away.
Rabbit hope everything goes well with your house being finished. I know moves can be both exciting and stressful.

I got this game when it was offered previously. I'm not sure whether it's the same version or not, but I really like it. While I agree it would be good for children, excellent actually, I'm retired and I play to relax so games like this suit my style. It has a relaxed mode so that's a big plus. I can play while watching TV and don't have to worry about a session timing out.

I like match 3 and hidden object games so I like that it has both. I don't care too much for time management games, but this is more of a SIMS kind of thing. It just lets you restore the farm by purchasing different styles of improvements with your points as you progress through the game.

The match 3 games have different goals. The board is supposed to represent the farm's store, with the items being different foods. Some levels require you to clear all the tiles, and others require you to clear a certain number of different types of foods. The story can be entertaining, with customers coming through making comments, but you don't have to respond to them like some time management games.

The hidden object levels are enjoyable, relaxing. The items look like they're supposed to, and aren't hidden so well they're invisible, so it's not frustrating.

There are separate volume settings for music, environment, and sounds. As always, I turn music off first. I keep the environment and sounds set low, because much of it corresponds to the story.

Most game stories are wasted on me because I consider them pointless. Skip skip skip. Not this one. It's interactive and random. The commentary between the boy and grandfather is fun if you pay attention. They periodically draw you in. Click on the boy several times and he turns to you and asks why you're clicking on him. You can click the lights on and off, direct the characters to do things like water the plants or play darts, but it's not a requirement that has to be done in a certain sequence and can be ignored completely. It's simply for fun. So in that sense, it's great for kids, but I get a kick out of it and have found myself giggling at it when they do something unexpected. Someone with a good imagination and sense of humor worked hard to make the game.

The only minor annoyance I have is the time it takes to go back to the farm after completing each game. An interesting page of a family scrapbook is shown while loading, but it seems like it's taking much longer than other games. Might be my computer though.

I would definitely recommend this for those with kids, plus if you like relaxing games and don't mind a kid-friendly interface, give this a shot.

Thanks Playrix and GGOTD!

The game installed easily on my Win7 Home Premium SP 1 64 bit dual core with 4 gigs of RAM. I read the directions and then the Readme carefully before installing, and the installation went through without a problem. I only played for a minute or two, but I will be back to play this with my young son. He is guaranteed to love it.

This looks like a quality children's game. It checked out as clean with both MalwareBytes and AVG (yes I know you've never distributed a game with malware in it, but I always check everything anyway). The graphics are done well and are cute. There are written words to go along with the dialog! This will help my son learn to read better and want to read better.

Most of my games bore him. Most of his games I like. This makes it a no-brainer for me to get more of these games as they may become available.

I'll add to this partial review after I play it some more.

Otherwise

My wife hates to move; therefore I hate to move

Giving the house a super full-contact cleaning as part of moving is a pain

I don't trust renters (no insult intended to you good renters)

Make sure you have a written rental contract set for a distinct period of time (not a month-to-month, for example).

Enjoy the time off from moderating. You work hard here, and it is appreciated.

I loved this game last time around and was disappointed I only put it on my little Win 7 Netbook and not my PC (it is better on a full sized 19" screen). I now have it on my win7 64 bit PC and could not be happier. Download and install effortless and easy, both for me hubby on his Win 7 64 but laptop. and Thank you Game Giveaway of the day.

Awesome to know you're moved in now. Congratulations, Mr. Whiterabbit.

Giving this gave a miss - never enjoy Match 3, even as a partial. Besides, I have a lot of studying to do and I end up in a mindless click zones with Match 3's. O_o

Yay for new house!

Delightful game so far! Match-3s have to be more and more complex to keep one's attention and so far this is meeting the par and exceeding it. I only have a couple of quibbles:

1. a couple of places where grammar/spelling should have been proofed/corrected.

2. There are times when the characters are walking around in the garden and I have no idea if I am supposed to be coaxing them to do something or if I'm supposed to go to the next round of match-3s. Sometimes, they get thought-balloons and I don't know if that's a hint or what.

Otherwise, I'm having fun. I know this one has been out for a while now (or at least the non-collector's version) and although I had heard good things about it, I didn't want to play it, because I'm sick of match-3s. Glad I went with today's percentages to give it a try. It has a nice balance of puzzles, hidden objects, story-lines, etc.

I bought this game several years ago and it wouldn't run properly on my XP system. I went back and forth with Playrix support. They did not know what the problem was. I finally figured out it was the ATI graphics - onboard ran it slightly better than the card but neither one displayed it correctly.

I just put this on my Windows 7 system and it plays fine. Except I found out it's really a kids game and pretty boring for grownups!

I have since had problems with several Playrix games running properly on the XP machine and two that didn't run correctly on the Windows 7 machine. They were all in the Gardenscapes/Farmscapes/Barn Yarn group. But I never had problems with the Royal Envoys, the Atlantis Series or the Fishdoms. I know the ATI graphics on my XP machine are next to useless but I'm stumped about the Win 7 machine with both Nvidia and Intel graphics.

Thanks for this. I almost always appreciate Playrix games, just not this one.

Thanks, GGOTD! We had this game from a previous givaway, but have lost due to new hard drive and new computer. We really enjoy it - it's relaxingly playable in relaxed mode, which is a really nice break in the day or evening. (I've grown oddly fond of Joe the farmer and the weird-looking kid, too.)

I like the variations in the match-3 game on this one, too. The only mild irritant is that it takes a while to load between sections, even on a fast computer. Oh, well, time for a sip of tea, no?

Glad to hear your move is going well, Whiterabbit! I bet you can't wait to be fully settled (with actual floors!) as the saga of the Rabbit family's new burrow continues ...

Hope you are fully online soon!

I wanted to add: for those concerned that it's a childish game, don't be fooled by the graphics. Farmscapes is generally like Fishdom, but with a farm theme; instead of decorating a tank, you decorate the farm, and instead of an ocean themed match three, it is vegetables. In addition, there are hidden object and puzzle solving elements, along with a few "quests" to gather certain match three items. If Fishdom is a game you enjoyed, then you will certainly enjoy Farmscapes. It is an excellent game.

I LOVE this game! Although I sometimes wonder, what the heck is Tom doing? One of his actions seems to be chasing invisible chickens but who knows about the rest? Of course, this just adds to the fun. I especially like the cameos of Fishdom 2 and of Austin and his dog in the intro.

Sorry guys, We've been offline since last Sunday Morning (15th Sept) and won't be connected till the 27th September (My provider messed the engineers appointment up, so didn't get it installed when it was supposed to have been done last Monday).

I've had to go to a friends to post this message. I don't have time to moderate as we are putting the finishing touches to our old house, which I'm renting out to a tenant who takes possession on Monday.

We've no flooring (that is tiles and wooden flooring. The base flooring is down) in the new house yet and our kids are staying with their grandparents till Wednesday. Hopefully by then the builder will have finished our bedroom. :)

Depending on whether the engineers sort our new connection this coming friday, I hope to be back moderating next weekend. :)

Have a great weekend folks.

I had this game before on my last computer...the graphics are excellent, storyline moves along, and it gives you different options to build your farm the way you want it. Installed on a Windows XP Intel Quad CPU @ 2.40 GHz computer,no problem with installation, smooth game play. I give this game the following:

Graphics 8
Play 8
Replayability 10
This game will provide hours of fun,and you'll want to play it more than once just to change the farm every time.

After reading rave reviews about Farmscapes Collector's Edition on other sites I thought it looked good, and installed it on my Windows XP SP3 box. The installation was smooth but unfortunately the game will not run. There's no evidence that a process is even starting. This is the first time I've had problems with a Playrix game. If anyone knows the solution please post.

Since I do not participate in f-book I was delighted to see this type of game here, independent of a 'network' - I play alone - and this was a very nicely done game indeed. It has a beautiful, animated introduction, the equal of anything you see today! Amazing!

It seems like a great game for children 7-12 who can speak and read English well.
The game has a great graphics and quite good music (topical).
You have to complete several tasks and you can choose how you will go about them. The tasks are not too difficult, but they are not too easy either. Just playable.

The description of this game is incorrect: It is NOT the Collectors Edition; it does NOT include the "Premium features: 30 bonus match-3 levels, exclusive accessories for the farm, screensaver, wallpapers, soundtrack, quests’ walkthrough" as stated above. It's the same game I got from Gametop, the regular edition. Altho I do appreciate having the opportunity to get the GOTD version again.

Miss you, Rabbit, hope the move's going well!

Thanks to Playrix and GGotD for giving away this game again as I lost it when I had to reformat my PC. Its a nice match 3 game where you earn money to refurbish Joe's farm (there is a choice of style and colour), the format will be familiar to fans of the Gardenscapes series, its just the hidden object gameplay is replaced with Match 3 instead. This is the only game missing from the farm/house refurbishing Playrix games I own (and I actually bought all the others) so I'm really pleased to get it back. I can definitely recommend checking out Playrix's site for more of their games, almost all of them are eminently playable ;o)

Dang this looks really Sweet! for now I must say Thank you Playrix and GGAOTD, for bringing us this great game to play today and to play on the many tomorrows to follow.

This looks like a awesome mixture of H.O.G, Match 3 and a bit of a Sim / Time management. While I may not like Time management / Sim style games much due to my slow reactions and poor ability to juggle things (IE go about Multi Tasking things).

The H.O.G plus the Match 3 will more than make up for that part. This looks like it will provide me with a few hours of entertainment and then some.

It's downloading at a good clip. So I shall be able to play it soon and give my thoughts later on providing I don't fall asleep at the keyboard. So I will be posting my own thoughts on this game Right after I get some sleep and after I get to have some fun trying it out for myself.

I must say this though. The screen shots look pretty cool but I can't rate it until I've played it some or seen some videos of its other aspects. I love how the colours and graphics just pop out making it look really sweet, but it's not all about appearances or is it....

I just had to get on and say thank you to Playrix and Game Give Away Of The Day for bringing us this great game this weekend.

But... don't take just my word on it. Because if you like Sim/Time management games + Match 3 game style's Plus adding on that you like Hidden object games then this = Equals a must have game for your collection.

I know this will be a a very enjoyable game to add in my collection of games So once more a giant THANKS to Playrix & GGAOTD for this game

Peace out for now. This Frog needs to go for a nice long soak and big old rest to ease some very sore muscles. So take it from this joyously Hopping Frog get this game for your collection

For now it's time I was off... Have a great weekend every one

Signed
