Giveaway of the Day - Aqua Words

Introduction:

This was originally given away in January 2007 and received 80% of 131 votes, and then again in May 2008 where it got a positive 61% of 390 votes. The Game:

This is a straightforward word game that features the familiar Aquatic figure that we’ve seen in other giveaways. There are three game modes Timed, Arcade and Strategy modes. The only difference between timed and strategy mode is that you have to complete the level within a specific time in timed mode. Arcade mode on the other hand starts with only half the playing arena filled. New bubbles start to appear from the top at regular intervals (faster in the more difficult settings). Words are created by dragging your mouse from the first letter of the word you wish to make and along the letters that you use to create the word. Once you’ve constructed your word click on it. If it’s accepted it explodes. If you haven’t created enough words by the time the arena fills the game ends. At the end of a level you get the level stats which include the time it took to complete, the score for the best word, the longest word, the total score and if there is to be a bonus tile for example a score multiplier, this will be introduced at the end of the level. The game also features three different backgrounds related to nature.

Conclusion:

It’s a decent enough game that’ll be great for a family with young kids. Aquatic is funny at times and is also interactive. Try clicking on him. There are simple words missing, but you can add words to the games dictionary; though only one at a time unfortunately. It’s Ddefinitely worth 7 out of 10 in my opinion.

I did have quite a large list the last time this was given away but after finding them had forgotten to save the document so lost them all. Still it’s simple enough to search them out for yourself if you want them. I’ve included a few links to free word games below.
