Age Of Japan II is a wonderful game!
Lovely colors, nice design, relaxing music and... 45 levels of pure fun.
I cannot recommend it as high as it deserves!
Thank you a thousand times.

The cursor has a graphical bug (WindowsME) and the game crashes from time to time (luckily, the current level is saved automatically). As someone said before: Age of Japan was better, especially in terms of sound effects. The comic story in between the levels is drawn weakly and the story is kind of...hmm... obfuscating. All in all, Age of Japan 1 was better, but anyway, part 2 is also nice.

Sorry I'm submitting this late but we've had family (hospital-type) problems since before Christmas so I can't always sit down and play when I want to.

I really enjoy this game. The first one in a long time that I just wanted to play and play!

I thought this would be like a bejewelled clone when I first read the description and it is to a certain extent except the way the icons roll down once you play the game a little is unpredictable so you really have to LOOK and THINK the whole time you are playing the game. I only wish I had known about this site when the first game was released but I was a few days too late in finding it.

I would love to see the original one offered again to see if its the same or a bit different but I know that's not always possible!

Thank you GGOTD and Reallore for letting me download this to try.

Very nice adaption of this genre, thanks!
The only bad thing: The few levels in 'night mode' - it's a pain for the eyes, either cheat and brighten up your screen or get a headache :/

Is there iny thing in peoples heads than match three. Most likely not. Keep trying there might ba some inspiratyion come along before you reach ten years old.
At least you probably earn a good amount of money for selling the same thint to the same people over and over again.

Hope we get to see more of Realore Studios as they are one of the few that seem to be on the same level of quality as Alawar. And Realore has more than just the typical arcade games. (Hint: It would be very nice to for GGOTD to host some of the less than usual fair, such as an Agatha Christi mystery or a shooter!)

But Age of Japan II is a very nice match 3 game with or without a (rather confusing) storyline. I find the purchase system confusing--Alawar did this better in Treasures of Montezuma by using stars and unlocking rewards. But it's very enjoyable and the bonus puzzles are pretty difficult. (I think the 100 bonus levels is a typo--there should be only 10.)

I've only played some of the arcade--they could use either a better translator or writer because the storyline does not make much sense--at least in the onset--Mahjongg Artifacts did a better job of this. I'm not sure if I'll find this as addicting as Treasures of Montezuma, but it's one I definitely continue to play.

A fair match-three game, but it isn't nearly as compulsively fun or intuitive as "Sky Bubbles Deluxe", which was given away a few weeks ago. This one didn't hold my attention for long, whereas Sky Bubbles was so relaxing, enjoyable, and easy to play, I couldn't put it down.

Ty Ty Ty loved Age of Japan and started with puzzle mode and it was easy to begin with but it does get difficult after level 20 or so :) Then tried arcade mode and it reminds me of the last age of japan with a nice bonus level where you fill in a animal or artifact to complete the level you also get those bonus levels in the puzzle mode. Ty for the windowed mode i do appreciate it and ty Realore and GGAOTD keep up the awesome job of providing us with excellent games to pass the time away :)

Easy install and activate. Works well in XPsp2. Love the windowed mode and that I can turn off music. I always prefer my own music choices but leave sound effects on medium to get the cues of anything I may have missed visually. Both tile sets are easy to see and good contrast for my low vision. This is a keeper for my growing collection of match 3 games :)

Thank you Realore and GGOTD!!

Happy Holidays to all!!

Runs fine in Vista (Basic or Premium) as long as you leave it in fullscreen mode. If you try to put it in a window, it crashes the game.

Hmmm...100 bonus levels, eh? Website say 10 bonus levels. Bonus levels ripped off from "Atlantis Quest". That okay, that good game, too.

Two game modes...unfortunately, both timed. Would liked to have seen a "relaxed, tea-sippin" mode. Story hard to follow. Don't speak Japanese...well, Japenglese, either.

Game good, but think...so far...I liked first one better overall. Both good. Wouldn't pay $199.5 though. (Since I got it free right here.)

Thanks Realore for another great game, and GGAOTD for making it all possible. May you both have a great and prosperous new year.

Comment update. (sorry for the double post, I don't know how to edit my comment)

Ok, its a good game. But not quite as pleasing as Age of Japan 1. Age of Japan 2 has some kind of story and stages. But basically, the gameplay isn't quite as fun to me as the first. The music seems more muted to me as well as the sound effects. When you got a combo in Age of Japan, you'd get a "Wow!" voice sound effect, and when you eliminate pieces, they would make a pop/explode sound effect, which to me was very theraputic feeling to me.

Age of Japan 2, the sound effects are much more quiet and the story doesn't really matter much to me. I just care about the gameplay.

So... I guess its sort of a disappointment for me after playing it. I really WANT to love it - I mean I like it, just not as much as the original first Age of Japan.

#8 pretty much sums it up nicely for me. A cute kid-safe game, maybe a bit too easy for the first half, and it doesn't seem to have as much strategy as Montezuma.

Can anyone understand the little comics story that comes along as you play the levels (at least in Arcade mode)?

Wow, Merry Christmas to ME!!

Age of Japan is my all time FAVE game released on GGAOTD. I still play it almost every day. I've completed it on every level - easy, med, hard on both Classic and Timed.

I will be so happy if this game is as good - maybe even upgraded - from the first.

Three Minute Review:

Nice one. :) I missed Age of Japan when it was given away last May. This'll make up for it.

Installation is a breeze with the unzipped package comprising of the read me and a combined activation and set up module.

This looks like a beautiful game, with gorgeous music and loads of bonuses (12) and equipment, some of which is awarded during game play and others you can buy once you've been awarded enough money. For example, the shin guard that removes a fifth of the elements required to win the level, or the double sword that removes all pairs from the board. There are two game modes to play with, Arcade in which you have to destroy all the cells within a specified time and classic which gives you a limited number of moves to win the level. You can play in windowed mode. There are two tile sets available.

Looks like a keeper for me and IMO I think it’s worth 7 out of 10 for family fun and great game play.

Thank you Realore Studio and the Game Giveaway team for a great boxing day present. :)

I cannot recommend this game highly enough.
Visually beautiful graphics. Match 3 which gets increasingly more difficult the higher the level. I would grab anything offered from Realore at the drop of a hat. Played this game only in the last 10 days as a 1 hour free trial, and got to a level past the boat trip (refer to the map), so I cannot vouch for how many levels there are.
